Applied for a loan in May, they did not disclose the rate or term for this loan. The interest rate is outrageous and never disclosed to me while signing. $1880 and they want $11,270 after all is said and done! I dont feel like not disclosing this kind of information is critical for borrowers. This is how they get people!Initial Complaint

We borrowed $1200 from Birch Lending. We have been charged 6 payments of $576.10 which is $3456.60 which seems like more than enough BUT we find out today that there will be a total of 16 payments for a grand total of $9216.00. That's $8016 in interest. We also found out that it is illegal for that type of loan in ****. I cannot afford this and it's so outrageous I'm not sure what to do. They were no help when I called them about it. I need help getting these payments stopped and perhaps some of my money back. I am a dad and have myself, my wife, 4 teenagers and a newborn living in my house and the $576 would go a long way at the grocery store. I think I should get some of my money back but at the very least the payments should stop since they are using an illegal interest rate in ****.Initial Complaint

Birch Lending is nothing but a predatory company that preys on vulnerable individuals in desperate situations! My dog needed emergency surgery, and after visiting the vet, I was given a list of charities and loan companies to seek financial help. I was approved for a $1,200 loan, and I started making biweekly payments of $321.99. Now, I've already paid over $1,900 to these thieves! When I called to complain about an unauthorized payment taken from my account, the offshore receptionist had the audacity to tell me I still had 10 months of $650 monthly payments left! They expect me to pay a staggering $6,500 for a $1,200 loan! This is absolutely disgusting and illegal on so many levels! How can they justify such outrageous terms? This is nothing short of a scam!Initial Complaint

At the end the of January 2025, I received numerous spam and advertisements from Birch Lending at a time where I was needing funds for a deposit on an apartment. I spoke with a *** whom had a very difficult accent and as she began telling me I was approved for 500$ I agreed and proceeded. They have since withdrawn biweekly from my account 147$ beginning the first week of February. I have since exceeded what I was told what I would need to pay back with interest. After carefully reviewing what had not been discussed with me verbally, I learned I will be paying back $5000.00.Customer Answer
