    What the Business Committed to Provide You: Homestars committed to connecting us with homeowners seeking full projects with healthy budgets, willing to accommodate our schedule, and not requiring immediate service. While they did mention they don't guarantee leads, they falsely advertised their client base during our initial discussions. They also assured us a homestars rep with the ability to adjust our profile settings to target specific types of projects and customers.

    Nature of Dispute: The dispute arises from the significant disparity between the services promised by Homestars and those actually provided. Instead of substantial projects with appropriate budgets and flexible scheduling, we have been receiving requests primarily for handyman jobs, often with tight deadlines and budget constraints. Furthermore, Homestars restricts our ability to adjust our profile settings independently, and our designated company representative has consistently failed to respond to our communications, leaving us unable to make necessary adjustments.

    Whether the Business Tried to Solve the Issue: Despite multiple attempts to communicate with Homestars regarding our concerns and the lack of responsiveness from our company representative, we have not received any assistance or resolution. Our efforts to address the issues directly with Homestars have been met with silence, indicating a lack of effort or care on their part to solve the problem.

    Previous Attempts to Resolve the Issue: On December 8, 2023, and February 7, 2024, we sought assistance but received no follow-up or resolution. On March 19, 2024, we contacted our company representative for assistance with profile adjustments, with follow-up attempts on March 21 and April 1, 2024. On April 4, 2024, we contacted the individual who signed us up for assistance, and on April 21 and 22, 2024, we attempted to seek assistance via online chat, but received no response on all occasions.

    Well, in did believe in Luca, the sales man. **** **** ****. Do not believe in this company, I don’t know how still open. But anyway, I tried so many times to cancel my subscription and no one answered my phones call. So I going to court, and I going to cancel wit the bank all the payments, that way they will call me. I have pay everything and I didn’t received any lead.

    HomeStars promised that I would get lots of leads for painting contracting work.
    However, none of the leads that they provided led to an actual paint quote no any work.
    As a contractor the value of the lead is measured by the cash flow that I am able to generate from the leads.
    I don't need random leads buzzing around.

    At the time that I wished to cancel, I reached out to the company and they didn't pick up the phone, nor answer any of my calls, nor did they answer any of my emails.

    This is poor business practice if you want to have a long term relationship between among the contractors who subscribe to the lead generating service.
    There is no way to cancel the subscription, nor speak with anybody, or email the company.

    In other words, once HomeStars has your credit card information, the contractor is on the hook to keep paying with no way to stop the subscription.

    We were told that they had a lot of leads waiting for us if we joined. It was a very busy time for them and they would send alot of business our way. It has not been the case. We have received 3 leads since joining a month ago, with 0 results. It appears we have been ******* and we would like to leave the contract but told we have to pay 30% of remaining fee for a service they are not providing. We believe they are ******** and would prefer to not work with them. They make promises to call but don't follow up.

    The people at homestars are constantly harassing me and my business. They call me off different numbers and try to lure me into paying for their subscription, even though i have told them several times that i’m not interested and asked them to stop calling. One rep from homestars contacted my business pretending to be an interested customer and completely wasted my time for some unknown reason.

    I contract HomeStars services almost 2 months ago, I was clear with th sales person that i had a bad experience in the past where i did not receive any leads in 8 months, and i do not want to go though it again, I assumed that the reason of that I was operating in Niagara falls small town, now I am in Ottawa almost 2 months and 2 fake leads, it is happening again. I spoke with my manager and part of his answer was i signed the contract for 12 months, if you cancel payments you will be in collections. How is is possible pay for a service we did not receive??????? and this company is doing this to many people and they still operating. I have paid all fill year in 2022 and 2 months this year.

    Oh my god. I don't know where to begin. I started talking to Luca, who is a sales rep for the company. Before joining, they were super responsive and so friendly. They would call at least 3 times per day. I should of not have ignored the first red flag when they would call and I wouldn't pick up and he would call from a different number. This company is horrible. They promise you 12 leads per month minimum and now I am approaching the end of the first month and I have received 2 leads. Even though I responded within 5 minutes, the leads seemed to be fake.

    Every time I try to call my "Account Manager", it goes directly into voice mail. I have left multiple voicemails and no one gets back to me. I have been requesting to cancel since the first week and it takes an average of 6 emails to get 1 response with a deflection of the question. **** ******* ** * *** **** *** I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. How can this be legal in Canada is beyond me. It is nearly impossible to get a hold of them and they don't deliver the service they promised. Essentially you're paying a company 400 to 1500 a month to do absolutely nothing. Every month they will take that amount of money from you, and you will get 0 Business.

    Since numerous calls company would not cancel service,they do not porived promised service,cannot rech no one. They do not call back ,just send you treatening email's for non payment and collection.yet can not even get the service promised ,garbage company ,garbage service
    All a big ***, not helping ,till you sign up they call you then ignore you.

    signed up for their service a little over a year ago.
    was promised to get more Leeds to my business.
    account person said he will work with me, only herd from him once and never again.
    tried my best to make use of the site... with zero return
    still never herd from the account guy. even tried calling once nothing.
    had my CC compromised and still working on it.
    never received any contact from company about anything.
    was hoping for a GOV supported grant to help pay for it. that they recommended to me.

    and only after 2 months they sent to collections with still no contact from HOMESTARS at all
