    ** *** ****** ****** ** *** **** ******** I have experienced this issue multiple times. Posting a job then wait for a response. If the response isn't quick enough, i have called the recommended companies provided by homestars. Some jobs get no response and no call backs from the numbers provided by the companies listed. I have tried to contact homestars but they did not respond to my concern.

    Homestars resorted to ********* a payment out of me stating they cant cancel their own invoices. Sure....
    I had to pay them for a ********** "lead" to a **** that doesn't exist or they would *** ** **** ** ** sending me to collections for $45.00

    Once an Amazing Canadian company ... SOLD TO AN AMERICAN firm called **** ******** General Contractor with 9.5 years with Home Stars and we just cancelled our membership.
    The format/platform has been changed and turned into a large money grab !!!
    - Clients get inedited with contactors competing for their project in some cases I seen over 100+ company's all trying to get the same project, also as quoted from a HS rep as many as 10 contractors will pay an additional fee on top of their monthly fee !
    This was a Great Canadian company, Now getting run into the ground by an AMERICAN COMPANY ... SAD
    All Contractors ****** *** SAVE YOUR MONEY !

    HomeStars ** *** ******* **** ******* ****** They literally are ************ to lower my score 25% if I don’t continue to pay even after cancelling my membership.
    They’ve literally take $2000 out of account since I’ve cancelled and will not return any of my calls and have even hung up on me as soon as I say cancel. I’ve literally called them 20–30 times.
    **** **** *** ******* ** *** ** ** *******  ****** *** ********* ******* They have never once asked us for insurance and papers. They advertise and score contractors according to how much they pay them monthly.

    Signed up hoping to get more work , and have gotten nothing but dead leads and fake leads , I did everything asked of me , got all my previous clients to post reviews got my score up to 99 I messaged leads from the app , text message and called them and not one has replied and a couple numbers came back not in service

    subscribed with homestars, they called me many times saying that homestars is different and i would get many leads, 6 months in i dont have any leads.. most of them are fake and unresponsive..

    *** **** ****** **** **** ***** ** **** *** *** *** ************ ** ******* *** * started company in September of 2023. Homestars was one of the first companies to contact us about getting us work. For the first few months we got alot of leads but only a few ended up going with us. They would call all the time to see how things were going and to change or add services to our profile. By December we rarely heard from them anymore and when we did it was because we had been trying to contact them. With season change alot of our contracts were done mid april, therefore we're definitely not making as much as we were. we missed two payments and instantly got a letter stating they were going to send it to collections, no phone calls or emails to see what as going on just that email. So i replied telling them what i thought and how its stupid that we cannot cancel for a year or put the service on hold and later that day we received a call from our new rep? i guess asking what he could do to help and this and that. Him and I had a meeting booked the following Tuesday, he said he would call at 9 am on the dot so i could make a payment, as we had some jobs on the weekend and my husband had scheduled a meeting with him on the same day to add services to our profile. Tuesday passed and we heard nothing, later that week he texts my husband asking why he hasn't heard from us. He still continiues to text asking when if were ready to pay. At this point neither of us care to pay or use them again, ************* * ***** *** **** ******* ***** **** **** **** ****** *** ******

    **** ******* ** ****** They sign you up for a 1 year contract and refuse to cancel at the end of the term. They will keep trying to bill you and then report you to a NON REGISTERED collection agency from out of the country. We have been getting ******** by that collections agency for 2 years. Their claims hold no water as we have recorded proof of a Homestars customer service rep, saying we have a balance of 0 and that they reached out to the agency.
