1 starThis airline has no heart. My husband and I have been booking travel with Sunwing for many years and have initiated trips that brought family and friends with us as well. Sunwing has changed our flights and vacation dates with little notice and we have accommodated. However, our loyalty means nothing to them. My 57 year old husband was just diagnosed with an ********** ******** and we cannot travel this year while he endures aggressive treatment to save his life. Sunwing will not return our deposit on compassionate grounds, ** ** ******** **** *********** ******* ** *** *****, nor will they even give us a credit to use next year.

We truly are sorry to hear of your upset and especially the news of the diagnose of your husband.
The cancellation of your booking in December 2022 was subject to cancellation penalties of the deposit on file. These penalties will remain as there was no insurance on file. I'm not sure if you can claim through your personal insurance or your credit card company as a significant time has passed but we would encourage you to speak with your travel agent.

1 starWe have booked a trip to Varadero traveling from January 6, 2023 to January 16, 2023. Sunwing called us and told us that our flight has been canceled and we had three choices; take a full refund, rebook a new trip at today's rates, or move our current booking to January 18, 2023.
I was told that we had no other choice. Called our travel agent and they were able to book a new trip from January 6, 2023 to January 15, 2023, however, because it was a NEW booking the difference in price was $20.
Not sure how they can get away with this, ** ** ****** ********** ** ****** *** ****, raise the price and book us for a day less.Sunwing Vacations Inc

Sunwing did nothing to help us, instead, we had to panic and work with our travel agent to book a “new” vacation to the same resort for the same time period less a day, at higher rates.
This was a pure cash grab by Sunwing. If it was an itinerary change then Sunwing would have made the changes to our flight, apologized for the loss of the day and refunded the cost.
They could have even provided a coupon for the upgraded flight we bought, anything. Instead, they refused to let me speak with anyone because they "had been provided all available options". Which was COMPLETELY untrue!!Review fromMario D

1 starI booked with sunwing in Aug 2022 for a trip to orlando, florida for january 2023. In December several friends of mine who also booked same trip with there own agencies, started to receive cancellation emails regarding flight. They immediately booked with alternate airlines and paid almost same price as in August. I was hesitant to do the same because i received no email and I didn't want to in-cure any penalties. I got on the phone and called ********* and sunwing. They both said that they couldn't do anything. Sunwing said that ********* would have to make the change. ********* said that Sunwing could only make the change. This is after sending e mails and being on the phone for a total of 2hours. Frustrating experience. In the end I was forced to book with alternate airline. I was forced to pay more and its a connecting flight. Sunwing called me a week later to inform me of the cancelations. All my friends had received there notices a week prior. And casually they proceed to tell me that I could re-book at current booking prices? So you cancel a flight, month in advance, no explanation and now I have to rebook at double and tripple the price I paid for being pro-active? There seems to be something seriously flawed with this situation. Not sure how your errors are for someone else to pay? You simply needed to inform me of the cancellation immediately, (which would still be not nice) so that I could make alternate arrangements. Your errors cost me an additional $100.00 ,my time, taking time from work to deal with you, and not being on a direct flight. If you decided to partner up with another company to drive up sales and increase profits, that is on you and you are still responsible for there actions. Simple!
You canceling a flight that I booked months in advance shall be a problem for you more than to me. You reneged on your obligations and went back on our agreement. Why is there no steep financial consequences for you that discourages this?Sunwing Vacations Inc

We are very sorry to read of your upset. Flight itineraries are subject to change and are referred tp om the terms and conditions of the booking. This is very common in the travel industry. Schedule changes and/or cancellations are handled through the booking agent. We are sorry to see that the cancellation did not get to you as fast as others, but this is something you should speak about with your booking agent.Review fromJason B

1 starBRUTAL EXPERIENCE on our Nov 4/22 vacation.
300+ people in line at airport, no assistance or help from anyone on directions on which lineup we supposed to be in ... advised we were in wrong line after 1-1/2 hrs. Then went to end of a 200 person line. 31/2 hrs wait so far. Worried would not make departure time, was advised not to worry, a lot of people in the same situation, flight would not leave without us. By this time a lot of very angry people around me.
Flight was to depart Nov 4/22 at 440pm- then changed to 7pm - then changed to the next day, nov5, at 615am. No affrodable accomadations near airlport so we drove home.
Departure on nov 5 supposed to be at 615am, changed to 9:15, changed to 10:15 then again to 10:56. Finally left with one day of vacation lost.
Reason given for flight delays was lack of pilots as they had flown too many hours. I requested compensation for the one vacation day lost. Was advised NO compensation per Sunwing emails from their Customer Service site who advised issues were out of their control. PARDON??? **** * **** ** *****...if a company cannot schedule their personal to fulfill commitments to their customers.they don't deserve to stay or even be in business.
Neither myself or the 19 other people I was traveling with or their families will ever use Sunwing again.

In November, at the time of your travel, Sunwing Airlines' flight operation was impacted severly when the third-party provider ********’s flight planning system was shut down due to a cyber incident.
The airline did do everything possible to get passengers to their destinations or on their return flights home. This included working with alternate carriers to sub-charter aircraft, providing meal vouchers to those with impacted flights, and arranging hotel accommodations and airport transfers for our customers in destination with overnight delays. This is in addition to posting daily updates on our website and *******, while simultaneously making best efforts to reach out directly to those Sunwing customers with impacted flights.
We can see on file that you have been communicating with a Post Travel Coordinator and a refund has been processed. If you have any questions regarding the refund, please communicate with her.
We apologize for the impact the delay had on your holiday and hope that within due time you will travel again with us in the future.

1 star***** **** **** ******* *********. We were booked Nov5th - 15TH to attend our daughters wedding at the ****** **** in Mexico. Our outgoing flight was delayed several times, finally departing 25hours later on Nov 6th. We lost one entire day of our paid vacation, with no compensation for the flight delay, OR the loss of 1 night stay at the resort! Plus we lost another 4 hours at the end of our vacation trying to track down someone who could confirm a shuttle to return us to the airport (part of the all-inclusive package) as Sunwing has NO representation at the resort. T*** ******* *** ****** * **** ** *** ********* **** ***** **** ***** ** **** ********** **** **** *** ** ******* *** ******.
They say the flight delay was caused by something outside of their control - our pilot told us they were hacked - yet something very similar happened to them last Apr/May - causing more flight delays. Sounds like they were aware of a problem yet are still getting away with it.Sunwing Vacations Inc

1 star***** spoke to SACHA *** **** about cancelling our trip, she just **** about the whole fee and money back, so when I called back the next day to speak to her ******** colleague who kept me on the phone for over 30 mins!!! Told me a whole different story.
