  My experience with Friesen Press was very positive. The people assigned to help me with each stage of the process were very kind, supportive and helpful. I received many helpful hints along the way, tutorials, articles, etc. and they did a beautiful job of my book cover and back cover copy. The designer worked very hard to condense the text of my novel (it is a lengthy book) to cut the page count down and make the print costs a little more reasonable. It was a long process, with many forms and questions to answer, but when you I saw the finished product, I could completely understand the necessity of having so much information at hand. I would encourage anyone thinking of self-publishing to take a look at Friesen Press and what they have to offer.

  Right from the first telephone conversation I had with the FriesenPress information and sales representative, I knew I had found the right company to publish my book. The representative wasn’t just interested in a sale, they wanted to know about me, and my journey in seeking a book publisher.
  I felt supported throughout the whole process from editing, to book design and distribution. My project manager was helpful throughout the whole process and replied to questions promptly.
  The online ‘Authour Account Centre’ is easy to navigate and offers easy communication and file uploads and downloads as well as all the information required for a seamless journey to publication.
  FriesenPress is a great company for anyone requiring self publication of their book. The employees are obviously good people who care about good books and their authors.

  I found FriesenPress to be an engaged partner throughout the process of bringing a first book to publication. The initial sales person shared information and provided some good advice. The project manager was supportive and replied to queries and requests in a timely manner. The editor grasped the intent of the book and provided excellent feedback. The cover design team listened well and created 3 good choices for a cover. The book design team was attentive to detail, honoured input and were responsive to suggestions. The FriesenPress Account Centre was an easily managed site with timely follow up from the Project Manager. The promotional supports were informative.
  I enjoyed the interactions with the staff with whom I interacted.

  When I received my first hard cover copy of my new book I was over joyed with the presentation!
  It was absolutely beautiful. Better than I expected. The Design team did such a fantastic job on the covers. The My Story team were so helpful for a new author and so patient with my inexperience.

  I've been smiling a lot lately. The reason: I'm holding the book I've recently published with FriesenPress. It was a twenty year project that came to fruition. My novel is based on the lived experience of a family struggling against a debilitating disease.My first thanks must go to Jamie as he guided me through the daunting world of publishing. What I appreciated most about Jamie was the work balance we achieved: he offered invaluable guidance, introduced information, and offered sage advice but ultimately he made sure that the choices I made about my book were truly mine.
  For me, a big hurdle in publishing was that I was a near Luddite. Jamie was patient as I learned new skills. I never once felt pressured or embarrassed in the process; in fact, my confidence grew as I became more computer literate.
  My work with Rory at FriesenPress was equally satisfying. As I submitted draft after draft, my manuscript began to take the shape of a book. How exciting.
  Another fulfilled dream of mine came true when I was able to use images that my nephew Gordon ******** had painted years before as a possible book cover. FriesenPress was open to the idea and made it possible. I love the cover of my book.
  The logistics of publishing a book include phone calls, timelines, emails and deadlines. Every phone call set up was on time. Every email was answered promptly. The original estimated timeline of how long the entire publishing process would take was very accurate. FriesenPress pays attention to detail.

  I initially submitted my poetry to editing services just for feedback, unsure if I was going to pursue publishing services. The feedback I received from the Friesen Press was so great in that they helped improve my writing while supporting my work and goal of keeping it authentic to me, my writing style, and the messaging I was trying to express through my poetry. It was an easy decision to pursue publishing my first book with Friesen Press.
  The entire process was life changing for me in bringing a secret passion of mine to life, from words to truly an artistic expression of myself, what I envisioned for my writing, to the final product.
  Friesen Press worked with me every step of the way, explaining, teaching, and working with me to keep my book aligned with what I wanted.
