1 starThe sales people claim they work for the big T that bought ****** , stating that they have been contracted to replace the ****** equipment, thankfully I figured everything out before they installed everything for my senior parents, everything was signed and ready to go, these people are using dishonest sales tactics to get people to sign up for their service. My father called ***** and they stated that this company does NOT work for them at all. ******* ** **** ***** ******* **** *** *** ***** ******** ** *****Elliot N.

Technically we aren't a customer thankfully, we were able to cancel our contract before you installed anything and saved ourselves being taken advantage of.Capitol Security

We strongly dispute the veracity of this review. We do not have a customer by this name, or any claims by any customer with the same surname as that of the reviewer's.Review fromBonnie N

1 starThey told me that they bought out my security system and I needed to upgrade my equipment. Then said since they were a different name they would give me 6 months free because I would still have to pay u set fluent for awhile. I called fluent awhile later, not sure how long, and asked if this was true that they were bought out and they said no that this has been happening to others so they started a court case against them. I am a senior on pension and cant afford to pay for both. I dont know what to do at this point.Capitol Security

We have been in contact with this customer several times since she signed up with us. This customer's previous provider Fluent, had sold her account to API.Our offer to the customer was that if she were to switch to Capitol, we would upgrade her system, and lower her rate. We gave her 6 months free to cover the remaining balance of her Fluent contract so that she would not be double billed. At time of sale we completed a recorded welcome call with the customer wherein she acknowledged that we are in no way affiliated with her previous provider. She also signed a document at time of sale acknowledging: "I, the Customer, acknowledge that the ********************** Sales Representative has clarified that my current security provider is not bankrupt, has not ceased to monitor my account, that ********************** has not bought my account and that I am choosing to switch to Capitol for both billing and monitoring services"6 months after her installation we contacted her to confirm she was able to cancel with her previous provider, Fluent. The customer indicated she would contact Fluent via phone to cancel.Several months later, we again contacted the customer to update her billing information. During this call the customer stated that ****** told her that ********************** had scammed her, had told her we bought Fluent, and that ****** had sued us, none of which is true. Since that time we have had many numerous contact us to tell us that ****** told them that they had taken legal action against Capitol (they had not) that there was a class action lawsuit against Capitol by Fluent (there was not), and several other defamatory statements which appear to have been designed to convince customers that they could not switch from Fluent to Capitol and that if they did so it was only because they were tricked. Capitol in consequence filed and served a statement of claim (lawsuit) against Fluent Home which has since been settled.Review fromGlen B

1 starDo not ever, ever use this company. Our mother of 90 years recently passed. We informed capitol once we found she had signed a contract with them. A contract that I'm sure most 90 year olds wouldn't completely understand. But instead of compassion or cancelling their contract they want total payment for the entire time up till September ****. Unfortunately I can't leave zero stars or |i wouldCapitol Security

This customers mother did NOT sign a contract with Capitol nor did the reviewer contact Capitol. Capitol performs service work for *******, with whom this reviewers' mother had a contract, not Capitol.Review fromEd D

************* Thank you for your review. To be clear Capitol has not been bought by Telus.Secondly *******, a multi billion dollar multi national company, has not been sold to Securitas. The Security Division of SBD has been sold/ acquired/ partnered with Securitas, another major publicly traded company, but this has in no way affected you. ******* Security still operates as ******* Security. You have been a ******* customer for several years now, nothing has changed with your account.Review fromC. 1 starI can't believe what I'm reading here....I've had nothing but trouble since switching to Capitol (*******) Security. I'm in the process of trying to get my mthly payments adjusted to what was on the buy out contract, $25.00 a mth. They offered me a free doorbell camera, I thought I like FREE!!! When the installer came in he had no idea about the FREE doorbell camera and had to call my "so called" customer service rep for authorization. It was okayed and installed. I "signed the contract on March 12th, installation and authorization was on March 18th, nothing was said March 12th by my rep and nothing was said by the installer on March 18th, yet somehow an additional $25.00 a mth was added to my contract??Really?? I didn't authorize nor did I know ANYTHING about this additional charge. I've been threatened with collections and Provincial Court if I chose to breech my contract. How do you breech a contract you never knowingly agreed to?? I've been doing my best to clean up my reps **** to no avail. I was deceived and lied to. I refuse to pay for something I would never have knowingly approved or wanted. I'm so happy I came to this site, I feel as suckered as many of you do and I'm not giving up on my rights. Fraudulent misrepresentation from start to present. I have dealt with incorrect billing, long wait for buy out contract check, ****ages to rep with no response, several phone calls to customer service with no response, I'm so frustrated and don't understand this type of behavior and customer service. **********************, I give you ZERO stars, You got 1 only because I had to!!!!!Capitol Security

Ms ******* categorically and unequivocally disagree with what you have written here, and again feel that you are doing so in an effort to force us to lower your rate.As you mentioned in your review, you signed a contract on March 12th for $49.99. On an aside, we have multiple emails from you stating that you didn't sign the contract that you have now acknowledged having signed. After installation, a recorded call with you was completed wherein you verbally acknowledged acceptance of the rate and term. You then signed a second addendum several months later, in August, again confirming the rate. The addendum you independently opened, read, signed, and returned. You were not deceived, and you were not lied to. You've acknowledged multiple times your acceptance of your monthly rate and plan, you were in no way tricked or deceived. The claim that you were misled is demonstrably false. With regard to your 'long wait' for the buy out cheque, again this is a problem of your own creation as you refused the funds deposit because you did not agree with the billing descriptor of 'buyout cheque'.Though we can understand with the customer service you are receiving, ultimately customers are responsible, as are companies, for their actions.C. I'm writing the truth, I'm asking you too lower the rate to 25.00$ the price I agreed to. I never KNOWINGLY signed a contract for 49.99$, it had been changed and wasn't detailed before I signed. Yes, I did sign....a FRAUDULENT contract as so many others have complained about also, you changed the amount, I trusted you and you deceived me. You also told me you from ***** when you came to my door...another lie. I signed an addendum for 3 more months of free monitoring in August, that said that ONLY. It did NOT confirm the rate. My billing had problems and the balance owing of the buy out check wasn't issueded until Oct 30, the billing descriptor said "Additional Monitoring Rebate" and I didn't want it to say that because I've now figured out what crooks you are and thought you were trying to justify your actions of charging me for the FREE doorbell camera, the extra fee you added to my contract that I didn't know about. I have NEVER KNOWINGLY acknowledged a rate of 49.99$ a month and it wasn't until October 29th (after dozens of phone calls, texts and inquiries as to why my billing was wrong) that ***** even mentioned to me about the so called "cellular monitoring" I apparently agreed to. DIDN'T HAPPEN KNOWINGLY ever. I was offered bimonthly billing when you don't do that, I was offered a FREE doorbell camera and not told it came with a fee, I was told you from Telus and that's a lie, I've asked questions that he doesn't answer and you all seem to talk in circles. Why can't you just be honest, I have been, I've owned my mistakes, own yours. Tell the truth. Yes, you're right about 1 thing, companies are responsible for their actions, so be responsible, STOP lying and do the right thing. I have rights and contracts can be cancelled. Your customer service is awful and with all the effort of me trying to right this wrong, it's affecting my health. Dealing with Capitol Security makes me feel insecure and unsafe, worst experience of my life.
