Marcus by Goldman Sachs is a terrible bank!!!Multiple costly issues have happened. They have hidden rules that cause payment issues and in my opinion it's all for money grab. They apparently take 10 business days to process a payment causing it to be late without ever mentioning this 10 business day thing. Then they charge $40 late payment fee as well as an interest fee. My GM Flex credit card use to be thru citicorp and never ever had an issue, not sure why but somehow it switched to Marcus. Maybe for some reason it was my fault that I wasn't aware of the switch. They also changed my account number - not the credit card number - but the account number, never notifying me, I made my usual payment and it cleared the bank, only it went to the wrong account number and ******************** said I didn't make my payment, but I had, so late fee, interest fee. They really don't want an individual to send a payment thru your personal bank, they try to get a person to autopay or use their account / website. Unfair and shady practices.

They will transfer monies and then reverse the transfer days later causing your checking account to be overdrawn - the fees of which far outweigh the interest that you get. This is not just me, but a common issue with this bank. Do yourself a favor and open an account with E-Trade ****** *******. They offer the same high interest without the horrid customer service and BS.

When my mother was in her late '90s she opened up a CD and she was never asked if she wanted a beneficiary. She had to do this by phone because she did not have a computer. After she passed away I had to pay $5,000 for probate court. It then took months and many phone calls before they finally sent me a check. Awful company, awful customer service.

They denied me due to: Claiming they have Lack of information on me??I'm a ******** Citizen and the info with photo ID was enough for an approval. Unless African-********* are just ******** Residents??Maybe that's it I guess.I have the screenshot of denial and the pics of ID and Docs I submit.

Very bad experience with their customer service.Easy to put money on a ******************** savings account ; take 1 month to get it back Since 1 month, I'm not able to link my "Wise (US)". They wanted proof it's a personal account. They don't accept Electronic document provide by ****. I sent them the documents their requested by certified mail. It was supposed to be processed within 3 business days. It has been 7 business day and it's still not done. Each time I called, People did not seem aware. **** confirmed the letter has been on July 24th ; on phone they pretend it has been received 2 days later. Moreover, they are pretending now processing can take up to 10 business days.******** meanwhile, they blocked by mistake my account and disable any access ; I've to call several times for them correcting their mistake. I was supposed to be called twice by a supervisor. I was never called.

The gm card by Goldman sachs is the worse card anyone could get. I honestly believe management is smoking crack while working. I've been discriminated against because I made an additional payment above and beyond my normal minimum monthly payment and because that payment was a cashier's check the funds and my use of available credit has been barred for three weeks. And the agents are clueless and easily offended snowflakes they ****** on professionalism but they aren't professional themselves. Agents say they're supervisors but they cant do anything for you and they're clueless dont waste your time getting this card. Which cant be used at any dollar stores because the holders of the card cant get their c*** together. This card is just a major inconvience and you dont have to be black to be discriminated against these people are crooks.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I received a letter from this bank regarding my savings account. I was told I had to complete an enclosed W9 form and return it to them by July 17th in the enclosed envelope. Three things wrong with this! First of all, there was no enclosed form, secondly, there was no enclosed envelope, and third and most importantly, a W9 form is only used by someone who owns a company, LLC, corporation, etc. I do not own any of these things and never have!! I called and I was told to download the form and complete it immediately. I went through four employees trying to find out why I received this letter and how was I supposed to fill out this form. The only answer I received was "we are not tax people and cannot answer that question". I finally asked to speak to someone in management to understand why I received this letter and what was I supposed to do with this form that I was told to download. I was told by a very rude woman that she would not transfer me to someone in management because they would give me the very same answer as she gave me. My solution: I opened up a savings account with ************* and transfer every bit of my savings from Marcus to Discover that day. The following day I received an email to call Marcus immediately. I call them and they told me there may have been fraud on my savings account because all my funds were transferred. I assured them that it was not fraud. I was the one that transferred my funds and I will NEVER do business with them again! Please think twice about ever using Marcus by Goldman Sachs. They have the worse people working their customer service. I work in customer service and I would NEVER treat any customer the way they treated me.

I have had a GM Flex card since 2007. I had a reasonable fixed rate my prior to Marcus acquiring the account. My fixed rate has changed to a variable rate of over 20%. I have excellent credit and have always made larger than minimum payments on time. I called customer service to be advised there is nothing they can do to lower the interest rate without even researching my account or history. I thought laws had been passed to prevent credit card companies from preying on their customers. Stay far away from this company. I am looking for a new card now.

As a Goldman Sachs high interest savings account holder (the online account is called *********************, Ive been deeply disappointed. Rather than being served by an institution that Ive placed my precious dollars into, they have caused me mental health distress. They need serious supervision, maybe from the Federal Level. The customer service is so poor that I have been trying since early June to receive a simple letter from them, stating something that I need. I just need it on Goldman Sachs letterhead. Literally, a high school or college intern could produce this simple letter in five minutes or less. It has taken almost two months to get it and I still dont have it in my hands. Wow: Its all bureaucratic nonsensethis person has to speak with this person, to get this approval and that approval, and then they put you on hold for what seems like forever! Today, I was literally on hold with them - on and off - for two hours. It got so bad that I threatened legal action, and they still cant get it together. I am utterly shocked. Please please please dont be seduced by the high interest rate, paired with no minimum balance, as I was. Stop while you are still ahead. There are other options out there. If you want details in reference to this case, then please directly contact me - I would be glad to answer any questions, and provide you with my - literally - five case numbers. Thanks!! ************************

I have been a GM extended family cardholder since 2018. I called last month to get my card switched to the "My GM Rewards" card. After 45 minutes on the phone talking with multiple people, the card was switched and a new card was sent to me in the mail. The card in the mail has been activated and now in use. 2 days after receiving my card, I tried to log into my account to review my balance (JUNE). My account was not registering previous transactions, past or present. After opening a case online, they told me a follow call was in order. after 1 week I received an email to call in, I called in and once again they stated they had to open a ticket/case and that someone would reach out to me (45 additional minutes on the phone). Here we are weeks later with the same issue. I cannot review my purchases, my bill pay information, I have no clue what my balance is, and cannot trust they are receiving my payments. If it affects my credit, that will severely hurt me in my lending in the future. Hopefully someone can help me resolve this issue.... Evidently my concerns have fallen on deaf ears at MARCUS BY GOLDMAN SACHS as my issue as not been resolved and no follow up has taken place by this company. Feel free to reach out and make it right, I'll be waiting for a phone call from a supervisor with knowledge and authority to retain a 5 year client.
