I run a business and employ people. This company contacted me today to request information about a person. They did not seem to have any authorization from the person to do so. I asked them to send me a signed release by the person they are seeking information on, and so I provided them my email address. It appears they asked for my email address under false pretenses, as they did not send me a signed release, but instead sent me a request for information without any signed release. It seems they were fishing for information, and also did that to me when requesting my email address. Also, when they emailed me, they apparently included the last 4 digits of the social security number of the person they are requesting information for. I am in ********** and this is a violation of California privacy law.No one should cooperate with this company. I think they are doing this for debt collections, but not advising people it is for debt collections, which is a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I happen to be an attorney running a law firm that represents individuals against companies violating their rights, so I'm well aware of all the laws this company violated when they contacted me twice.Business Response
