First off, 1 star is the lowest I could give. They deserve a 0. I booked through ********* and clicked that I wanted to pay at registration-my card was charged, I booked expressly because they had a pool and hot tub. When I tried to check in the hotel was empty. I had to use a service phone to even get in to try and register. The clerk told me there must be some mistake that they did not have a reservation. He was not going to register me, and then I showed him my reservation confirmation. His eyes lit up when he saw it had unwittingly been prepaid, then he couldn't check me in fast enough. The whole time I got bad vibes-everything was closed up including the pool room with a sign stating closed for maintenance. The room smelled stale and musty and was all closed up like it hadn't been used in months or longer. I left to visit my daughter and family to try and find another pool. A friend of theirs told them to get me out of there because she had a very bad experience since they were trying to sell-the pool was closed since at least Sept 2023. I went back to check out because I did not feel safe or comfortable being one of the only people in the hotel (and the city was mostly booked due to a horse show.) They did not hesitate to check me out but would not refund or give me a receipt. I contacted ********* and after talking with a supervisor and stating my concerns and observations was told it was up to the hotel's discretion for refunds. Never Again will I use Super 8 or ********* when booking a hotel. Period! The worst experience I have ever had in 60 years of traveling.
