I didn't actually select Fabulous Floors to complete my project. Notwithstanding, a review is still warranted. I inquired with FF to refinish 800 Sq Ft of hardwood floors. Matt call me during the day and quoted me $3.75 per Sq Ft. I asked if he needed to see the project to make sure the estimate was complete and accurate, and he said, "No, we've been doing this work for years and know how much it costs to do the work". In the background, I could tell he was at home (dogs barking, other household noise), which was peculiar to me. Anyway, when I contacted other vendors, they mentioned some things that were of concern, so I reached out to Matt again about the project. He then requested pictures of the project. Once I sent the pictures, he responded and confirmed what the others had told me. As a result, he then increased his estimate to $4.75 per Sq Ft (still sight-unseen). I then had some text exchanges with Matt, as I was thinking I would book with him. But one of my questions was to provide a copy of his Certificate of Insurance. When I asked that question, he stopped responding. I texted him two more times as follow-up, asking for a copy of his Certificate of Insurance. A week has gone by without response. This clearly tells me he doesn't have insurance. Buyer beware - any contractor worth their salt will have a Certificate of Insurance, to cover both the contractor and the homeowner. The fact that he doesn't means you - as the homeowner - are on your own when something goes wrong! Not the position I want to be in, and not the type of responsiveness and customer service I am looking for from a contractor. And given the number of other 1-star reviews with significant issues, I will definitely look elsewhere for completion of my project.
