We decided to work with Tyler as he promised us that he was different from other contractors and cared about us. Unfortunately this could not be further from the truth. Here are just a few of the issues we had while working with Tyler:-Tyler demanded large cash payments and would not accept a check or online payment. He claimed that he was unable to cash a check with his bank.-Tyler showed up extremely late on five separate occasions and did not communicate his lateness to us. He made up tons of lie as to why he was late. For example, one day he said his daughter broke her leg. The next day, he had to take his daughter to gymnastics -Tyler smoked on our property -When we left the door unlocked for Tyler, he did not lock it and sometimes never showed up at all leaving our door unlocked for the entire day. This was after multiple reminders -We have reason to believe that Tyler stole items from our property including a drill set (while this cannot be proven, there was no one else in the house at the time)- As it seemed as though Tyler was unreliable and had no intention of completing the job, we drafted an updated contract which included a time frame by which the project needed to be finished and outlined that he would not be able to work unless someone is present in the house. He refused to sign the updated contract.-Tyler asked for $200 cash to purchase supplies. We hesitantly gave him the $200 and asked for a receipt after his purchases. No receipt was ever provided and as far as we know, no supplies were ever purchased. -Tyler dove into electrical work that was not a part of the contract without consulting us. Because of this, I am going to need to pay an electrician $1000 + to fix the issues that he were created. -When working for us, Tyler did not dispose of any materials and simply left the trash and messes for us to clean-up -While we understand that he could not finish the work outlined into the contract due to letting him go, we are left with a mess
