We received a message that a customer named ********************* had some issues of the turf damage around his driveway which is extremely common and normal when snow plowing in events of 10 plus inches of snow like we had in Janurary because of visibility issues. Our contracts have clear statements in them about this issue which was signed by the customer and is very clear. I spoke with **************** about this issue by phone when it came to my attention and we agreed that we would send out our ******* in spring to take a look at the situation with the landscape light and turf issue to address that when the weather warms up. We are not able to do turf repairs until the weather warms up in April which was discussed with the customer and acknowledged.

I had signed up for snow plowing and salt services for my house and driveway.During the recent snow, the company did not perform snow plowing service after 1/12/2024 night. The driveway from entrance of the door is covered with more than 2 feet of snow. I have been calling, emailng and texting them for cleaning up and today is 1/16 evening at 4:30 PM still they have not cleared snow.I sent pictures about my situation to them and they still did not text me back or calling me back or even acknowledge my message providing me an ETA when they are going to clear the driveway.I request full refund and compensation as I had to take others help to clean up the side of the garage to move my vehicles when it was heavy snow.

We were charged for snow plowing 10 times this past winter. Our credit card was charged in January for 1 plow, February for 3 plows, March for 3 plows, April for 3 plows. We never received any invoices/notification of charges. In June 2023, we emailed out Great Lakes Landscape asking for an explanation of the charges. We specifically questioned the charges dated 4/15/2023. They responded that the April charges were for March. Note, our card was charged on 3/30 for March and again on 4/15/23. It did not snow from 3/30 to 4/15. We sent several emails requesting dates of services for the season. They never responded. I disputed the charges with our credit card company. Great Lakes, nor their bank responded to the dispute, therefore our credit card companied issued a refund. A month later, the owner, *******************, called my husband demanding we pay $138 that was refunded to us. He was extremely rude. My husband told him we wanted the dates of service for the entire season. Instead of acknowledging our request, he text my husband saying that they still have our credit card number/authorization on file and will just charge the $138 again. A few days later he emailed an invoice for the first time. The invoice did not have any dates of service on it. The invoice was for $163 ($138 + 25 return fee from his bank). I disputed this charge. Great Lakes, nor their bank responded to the dispute, so the charges were refunded to our account. 3 weeks later, **** finally sent an email with the March dates of service. He did not include the dates of service for the season as we requested. 2 weeks later, he sent a 6-foot 4-inch, 300+ lb male to our home. The man left the invoice on our porch. This is a way to intimidate us into paying for services that we have questions about. **** also wrote on the invoice, if we do not pay, he will put a contractors lien on our property. We want **** and Great Lake Landscape to stop harassing us for money for services that they did not provide.

      - The customer signed a snow plowing service contract like all our customers for services to be provided for winter ***** which spells out service agreement

      - The customer signed a credit card authorization agreement to bill customer at the end of each month for services provided the prior month like all customers do.

      - The customers driveway was plowed by us as verified by our detailed driver plow logs on the same dates as all other customers. The 10 plow dates of service documented are 12/22, 1/25, 1/28, 1/29, 2/16, 2/17, 2/22, 3/9, 3/10, 3/25.

-Additionally service of this address was verified by the plow driver to confirm the documented dates of service in the plow logs.

      - None of the other 440 customers plowed on these dates has disputed the dates of service as well as the snow accumulation histories which are readily avaiable online.

      - Our shop is down the street from the customer and customer requested dates of service for March so our general manager dropped off a bill at the customers house showing the dates of service because we were not sure if we had the correct email address from customer because he had indicated he did not get the invoice dates. We were simply providing the information requested by customer.

-As with all services provided under contract we expect payment by customers per the terms of the agreement.

-We take our accuracy of service very seriously and I hope this information helps resolve the customers questions about billing.

I hired Great Lakes Landscape to repair my landscaping after a mishap in my geothermal heating system. At first, I thought it was odd that ******** gave me an estimate without any type of measuring. This should have been my first red flag. I needed my lawn regraded and seeded along with decorative ****** stones reset. Initially the stones appeared to be put in nicely as I watched the crew leveling them from my window. When I went outside to check in, the stones clearly did not align with the stones that were there and one stone was placed on a 3rd level - not matching the existing look. The crew moved them to a better location. (I had to leave and was not able to monitor the work of these "pros.") When I came home, the stones looked to be haphazardly placed and not level. All I want is the job done correctly. ********'s reply was that they "don't have the proper equipment." According to the postcard mailing to advertise along with their webpage, Great Lakes Landscape claims to offer "Decorative Stone Installation." So, how can you not have the proper equipment? Especially when I saw them leveling the stones the first time?I am not so sure about how they graded my yard. The slope seems a bit steep when I try to walk on on. After 2 weeks, the seeds have barely started to grow, even with watering. (As a side note, I never did receive any paperwork on how to care for my lawn.) When I walk on it, it seems too steep. We will see. I was offered a discount to remove the part of the stones. All I want is for the job to be done correctly!

Paid $4000 dollars or a spring cleanup and mulch, 4 yards of topsoil and miscellaneous plants and shrubs to be planted. The crew put ruts in my blacktop driveway with the skidloader, wrecked parts of my yard, pulled things meant to permanent. Within 2 months new plants died, I contacted them regarding their year warranty on plants and they ghosted me and my $4000. I never received my 4 yards of topsoil and lawn care maintenance plan after paying for it. I finally found the person responsible and he promised a response within 48 hrs. Its been 72 and ive been ghosted again. This company has so many terrible reviews with similar verbage. I may contact an attorney to resolve this.

The landscaper was hired to kill our grass, remove dead grass and level yard, spread new seed, mulch the existing flower beds, and fill in the vegetable garden with dirt. When they mulched, they just threw it around, burying some of my plants and smothering some other plants. Some areas had such deep mulch that I had to move it, to areas that they were supposed to have mulched and didn't.They never did bring the garden soil, so we had to buy 34 bags and do the work ourselves so it could get planted. Then the weeds started growing, more than we had before their work. They came back to "take care of the issues" but did an incomplete job.The weeds are still there; some they mowed & left on the surface and reseeded over them.Other areas they didn't fix. There are weeds that we didn't have before they came now growing in our "yard".The office person will not pass me to the owner, and the consultant has not returned any calls for the past 2 weeks or more. I have more photos if necessary.

When We received a call from the customer about the weed issues in the plant beds and some of the potential grading issues we reached out to the customer with a phone call. We had our ********************** consultant ***************** the customer to figure what the issues are and to come up with a solution to address any issues on the project. This is not uncommon in landscape as there are many factors that are outside our control like rain and various weather related issues. Our company always strives to correct any job related issues on all of our landscape projects. After **** spoke with the customer last week we have scheduled a call back of our landscape crew to the customers home to correct and address these issues. We will correct these issues for the customer at no additional cost and bring this job to a positive conclusion.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Let's be clear that it took 2 weeks of almost daily phone calls to get the consultant to call back. There were no weather/rain issues at all.The dirt that was for the garden was never delivered even though I have an email stating it would be.That forced us to buy our own dirt and plant the garden.Matt should be back on 7/19 to correct grade issues, scrape the weediest areas and reseed. The grade issues include sloping it properly and filling dirt to the top of the curb, which currently is well below.I don't consider this closed until the new grass grows and the weeds are gone. Also, the edging that was paid for wasn't done at all and needs to be completed properly.

      Regards,

      *****************************

I spoke with our landscape consultant **** and we went ahead and put together a plant and date to have the landscape work corrected and finished properly. The crew along with **** then went over to the customers house a week ago and spent an additional day addressing these concerns to bring the job to a conclusion and meet the customers requested outcome. We feel that the job has been completed properly which is our goal for every job that we do. Some jobs have factors outside of our control but we always strive to bring every job to a positive conclusion.
