About

About This Business

As a retired general contractor with 30 years in the construction trade I started Lanny's Handyman Service as a part-time venture to help homeowners with small repair and maintenance problems that most general contractors won't engage in. Jobs like replacing a door lock, fixing a window screen, patching a sheetrock hole, installing a mailbox post. Jobs that contractors don't want to use their employees to fix a $60.00 drywall patch on when that employee can be used to sheetrock an entire new constructed house. I perform small jobs like installing a new door lock for a single women or repairing a fence post for a man who works long hours and just doesn't have the time to make the repairs himself.

Additional Information

Refund and Exchange Policy
First and foremost I make every attempt to make my customers happy. In most cases I have the customer buy the merchandise they want installed after we have discussed their desired objective. This way they know the costs of the materials up front. I then provide then with an "estimated" time required to perform the repair and then demonstrate my estimated labor costs based upon my $40.00 hourly rate. Finally, I take all the risks, I install their repairs by compartment. Example, I may be asked to install a front door lock and install new rubber base in the bathroom. Our agreement will illustrate that when the door lock is installed, I am to be paid the agreed upon price, when the rubber base has been installed, I am then paid for that task too. This assures the homeowner that when they pay me they are satisfied with my performance and virtually eliminated refunds.
