Enlightium offers three general curriculum options for most grade levels: the book-based homeschooling program in which students learn from textbooks with parents taking on the instructor duties, the online learning program in which students learn using online courses with Enlightium teachers providing support, and the Sapphire Live program in which students meet via zoom for daily instruction with an Enlightium teacher and other Sapphire Live students. Each program has varying levels of parental involvement and teacher involvement, and all three receive Enlightiums record-keeping and other administrative support. Students in all three programs work towards a report card or transcript each quarter, and ultimately a diploma from an accredited organization. Additionally, all three programs have optional access to social events and spiritual opportunities throughout the school year.

For students in grades Pre-Kindergarten, Enlightium offers only the book-based homeschool program; the online program and Sapphire Live program both become available starting in grade 3. We can see the perspective that Enlightium may just be applying the grade to the report card, but would like to emphasize that Enlightium offers much more than just a report card. Parents of primary school students receive invitations to webinars that discuss topics such as homeschooling best practices, supplemental tools such as IXL and an eLibrary, dozens of electives such as world languages, Bible Studies with their peers from around the world, and much more!

We see that your concerns about Continuous Enrollment have already been addressed and resolved. Families by default enroll for just one year, but have the option to select a 2- or 3-year enrollment to access re-enrollment fee savings and additional benefits. Our team recently reviewed the process for selecting the continual enrollment option and it does appear to be clear, accurate, and must be selected by the parent in order to opt in. However, when a parent reaches out to our team concerning an accidental selection on the enrollment form, such as choosing the continuous enrollment option, our team does make an effort to resolve that on the parents behalf. It appears that the termination fee was waived due to the confusion about the policy.

We do apologize that you did not have a great experience at Enlightium, but we do feel clarification on the primary school programs offerings and the continuous enrollment offering would be beneficial for other families considering enrolling at Enlightium Academy. Enlightiums leadership team appreciates the opportunity to state our approach to incorporating Biblical truths in education, as well as to add some clarity on some of the more complex topics that you discussed.

Our schools methodology starts from biblical truth and allows that truth to inform a proper view of culture, belief, and family life and values. ***** Word is the foundation from which we teach our students to value their cultures, beliefs about God/self/world, and family life, which in turn gives students a way to assess and measure what is holy in all spheres of life over what is unholy in all spheres of life. If our curriculum teaches students to identify themselves and their worth by cultural standards untethered from the truth of Scripture, we are always glad to assess and revise that material should such material be found in the curriculum. Our curriculum is under regular review for these purposes by our director of spiritual support and the curriculum team. 

Our Bible teachers are encouraged to teach the Bible from the standpoint of truth certainty and not speculative agnosticism. This method follows the standard traditional Protestant faith and is historically rooted in the testimony of Scripture itself. On the other hand, teachers are not encouraged to instruct with absolute certainty on secondary and tertiary doctrines. In other words, we teach biblical truth as truth, and all inferences made further about the truths of Scripture are taught with an open hand and humility (debate). For example, we have teachers that read the Bible from an Arminian position and from a Calvinist position, yet they all instruct students to think through these differences and to come to their own thoughtful conclusions under their family and local church authorities guidance. We honor the role parents play in the formation of their children. While we teach from a biblical foundation, we allow students to think through various positions, perspectives, etc. about life so as to avoid an education that falls into indoctrination proper. Students are free to disagree with the Bible so long as they show they understand the biblical teaching they might disagree with. 

To confirm, ************************** does hold a PhD in leadership studies. Her dissertation attests to a model of education consistent with a biblical worldview. With that said, the Bible is not against philosophy per se, but against philosophy according to self and human tradition and not according to ****** (Col. 2:38). In todays education setting, the title of PhD is used for biblical studies and theological studies in Divinity. Enlightium remains firmly committed to an established leadership and team that understands how to reason through matters of life according to ******. 

Our hiring practices include a rigorous vetting process to ensure that every person we hire, be they staff or faculty, is in agreement with our statement of faith and can articulate the truth of Gods Word in the context of their work at Enlightium Academy. Many of our teachers have taught in other ********* schools, worked in the mission field, and served in pastoral ministry before joining Enlightium. Furthermore, biblical truth is interwoven throughout our curriculum and instruction to a great and ever-growing extent. It is difficult to see how we could be any more emphatic on this point. A sincere devotion to biblical ******************* lies at the core of our organization.

We are sorry to hear that your family is struggling financially, and we would like to note that Enlightium is a private school that employs qualified staff and faculty members, many of whom have their masters and doctorate degrees in their respective fields. Tuition payments allow Enlightium to continue to employ and hire excellent staff and faculty members, as well as to provide academic services to students; tuition payments are necessary for a private school to pay staff and faculty fair wages.
