My previous dog died there after having liver surgery plus an inflamed peritoneum. I was told shortly after surgery in the evening she was gasping for air. They put her on oxygen and I went to see her and spend time with her before she passed away at 12 noon the following day. She was only 9 years old.Maybe everything went according to plan but I will never know. I was told by an experienced Doberman dog owner and past breeder that the vets who do the surgeries there are not necessarily qualified to do every surgery. I do know her surgery lasted 2 1/2 hours. I will never set foot in there again with my new dog.

This clinic is an embarrassment to the field of veterinary medicine. ******* and the front desk staff are, without question, the most unprofessional veterinary personnel Ive ever encountered. They refused to release my pets medical records simply because I requested they be transferred to another veterinarian. When I expressed my frustration, they hung up on me and have continued to withhold my records ever since. The front desk's behavior lacks any semblance of professionalism or compassion. If you are seeking quality veterinary care and respectful communication, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere.I have filed a formal complaint with both the staff and ownership through the Washington State Veterinary Board of Governors. I was told that this is not the first complaint they've received in fact, its the fourth. Clearly, Im not alone in my experience. Ive also heard firsthand accounts from friends, and read numerous Yelp reviews describing similar treatment. This review is written sincerely, in the hope of protecting other pet owners from going through what I experienced. Please think twice before entrusting your animal to this clinic.

OMG! I wish I wouldve read these PRIOR to going to South Seattle vet hospital!! Everything written in these 1-star reviews is totally believable! A lot of the same happened to me! I could write paragraphs of things they do to try to ******* you out of as much money as they can! Fear tactics (used on me as well), fluctuations of price (they tell you one estimate, adjust it and then charge more!! Etc. Etc. Luckily (or not) I got out of there spending less than $1000 basically for NOTHING! When asked what is the % chance (prognosis) of a successful endoscopy, he, Dr ********************** just kept saying dont worry, just come in and Ill do it! When I got a second opinion, the answer was probably not be able to retrieve the object endoscopically. So this doctor wanted to try to ******* me out of 2 procedures instead of just recommending surgery. Every time I tried to communicate with a doctor ***** ALWAYS say theyre busy, take a message and not ever get any response (other than, just bring him in!). without ever answering any of my questions DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING UNTIL YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE GETTING AND HOW MUCH YOU HAVE TO PAY!! Theyll take you for a ride if you dont!! Also, GET A SECOND OPINION!! I ended up going to 3 vets and finally have an appt for surgery this week which will cost me $2648 vs what south seattle vet hospital quoted, $4000 + meds, etc.! And if they had their way, wouldve charged me an additional $2500 for a failed endoscopy! But, I still had to pay for additional X-rays(even after I brought the same X-rays from the 1st vet) and a blood test..ALL FOR NOTHING! They use scare tactics. So I signed under duress! Wondering if I can get some of my money back!

They use scare tactics to try to fleece you out of hundreds of dollars. They recommend anesthesia for the slightest procedure. Even clipping a toenail. Bypass these quacks and go to a real vet.

I went here with my sweet baby girl.. she was not doing wellvery very ill. The doctor took X-rays and said she ate something with metal and other fibers. After the exrays that were super fast. He came in and with a sad look on his face a sad frown said your did is very sick she needs surgery it was 2am I was in shock and trying not to cry he continued with his sad face as he was speaking like he was sad. He had this paper he briefly filled out. Told me I had to sign release for surgery to save her more sad frowns. He said she will die otherwise. I told him I couldnt read well my glasses were foggy and I was having a panic attack he pointed sign here.. date ect. Not telling me what I was signing just a release with some possibility factors. After signing he sent me to front desk a very kind man told me I needed to pay 3k. I said I dont have that. He then asked doctor and he said $1500 was fine. I told front desk guy I was not sure how to pay more if needed he said he understood. Processing my card. They told me they would call me if she indeed needed surgery I never got the call so I called them. They said her surgery is done and she is resting what? I told them they said they would call me. The rude office manager and horrible attitude person informed me I owe $5200 plus additional med fees! I told her I dont have that she said you signed the paper that states you have to pay BEFORE services are done. She got very snippy with me and basically called me stupid. She said my dog would be given to a shelter if I dont pay asap. The document I signed was not completely filled out by DR nor was any of it explained I didnt get a copy until I demanded it today. Their business practices are illegal and bait and switch. Horrible people I called today they still have my baby and the DR would not speak to me until I paid! . I cry alot she is my *** I am a mess.

I found a deceased cat with a collar in my neighborhood on a Sunday and brought it in to get it scanned for a microchip, which takes less than 30 seconds. I was told that they are a privately owned business and don't have to receive any stray animals or scan them for microchips. I understand that they wouldn't take the cat, but they refused to even scan it for a microchip. I decided to go back a few minutes later and kindly ask them to at least scan it for a chip. Again, the receptionist named *********, refused saying that they are not obligated to do anything as they are privately owned. I expressed that there is a moral obligation. I told her that if it were my cat, I would want to be notified. My wife works in veterinary medicine and we were both so appalled by the lack of ethics, morals, empathy or basic humanity of this person and clinic. Finally after another client in the waiting room interjected, "Just scan the cat!" Did she have someone come up with a scanner. This was a truly disturbing experience. On a side note my wife has heard of many other negative experiences her mutual clients have had at this clinic. Including unnecessary treatments and surgeries. They are untrustworthy and incompetent. In the event of a pet emergency, do not go there. Go to Blue ***** or ********************* of Seattle. Response from clinic via text:Good evening, we are not under a contract with the ************** and so forth so therefore we are not obligated to dispose/hold onto a stray pet whether it be deceased or not. We are also not obligated to scan a deceased stray animal. Blue***** is under a contract so they do have to do those things and also you can take it to ******************* and they will cremate the pet for free. Thank you and have a great evening!

I contacted the hospital prior to arrival and asked how much it would be to see my pet and they informed me it would be $50.00. When I arrived I was asked by one lady "to just sit down" after taking my pet in the back an hour later and waiting for an additional 2 hours I was told the following, " It is now emergency hours and we would need a $400.00 deposit" after already informing me over the phone it would be $50.00 to see him and their only response to that was, "yeah well it is policy" . The doctor came in and told me my pet was dying with no explanation and no hesitation. After I broke down in tears she informed me that I needed to pay an additional $1100.00 to keep him over night which they said included medication. I had to ask questions to get any information or explanation but in that moment I was not going to second guess a professional's advise especially under the impression that my pet was going to die. The next day we arrived to pick him up at 2pm but when we arrived at 1:50pm we had to wait until 4pm until someone came to speak to us. A nurse came to speak to us about his medication then informed me that my pet was currently severely dehydrated which did not make any sense if he was on fluids, but the nurse did not give an explanation but informed me she can bring out a doctor. When my pet came out in his kennel he was weak, filthy, severely dehydrated and was not bandaged up from where he had an IV and was still bleeding, and all she had to say was, " he was not happy". My pet did not calm down until I placed my hand inside to calm him. At that point I did not want to speak to any one and just wanted to take him home but I had to pay an additional almost $200 for medication that was supposed to be included and instead of explaining these charges I was shown a form I signed which stated costs will vary $1500 - $2000 . The nurse informed me if my pet does not urinate within 24 hours to bring him back. After an hour later my pet went limp in my arms.

BEWARE! BE WARNED!! DO NOT GO HERE!NEVER have I been to an establishment that takes your animal out of your sight for a general exam, nor did anyone tell me they would do that.Once my cat was removed from my sight for the 'exam' the Dr entered the room I was left in alone after about 5 min. He shared with my his option of what was wrong with my cat, and instructed me to leave him there over night. When asked what this would cost I was quoted $1500, I let him know that was financially not an option for me and he PUSHED for me to use a credit card. Again I informed him that was not an option. When asked what over the counter medication I can use he insisted there was none, implying I had NO other option. I asked for my cat and was told I can have him when I get checked out. OBSURD!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONE TO THIS BUSINESS!! THEY ARE CONS!!!After visiting my vet I learned my cat is not constipated at all. Unfortunately being that he was removed from my possession I'm not sure what they did to my cat to feel he was 'severely constipated

They do a bait and switch. My dog had his teeth cleaned. Had a coupon for ***** turned into 430. I knew he would come home with antibiotics. Charged for anesthesia which is supposed to covered in the coupon. Called to complain the lead tech lied. When I called them out. When hung up on me. It is really sad. They were good back 15 years ago. Ever since building his new place. It has gone down. You have to watch everything. Done sign a thing until you read the whole paper. Dr * the owner has let his practice go to h*** The staff are horrible people too. Rude! And they know they have bad reviews. And dont care. Do not and I repeat do not go there.
