When I first went to this emergency vet service my 11-year-old cat had broke off his canine tooth when they came into the room before even looking at my cat the price was $520 I agree to let them take care of him they took my pet to another room never examine him I agree to the $520 when I came back to get him it was $750 this time when I took him in for an emergency because he wasn't eating again they did not examine my cat in front of me it took him to another room I could hear him crying and screaming the veterinarian came back in and said it was going to be $520 I asked him that's the same price I paid for him to have surgery he went to his computer and started typing and turned around and asked me could I afford $850 plus their service fee as I was checking out the receptionist said that she was going to give me a senior discount which end up being$10 off I got my cat home now his lower back he don't let me touch it it still won't eat when I do get him to eat a little soft food his jaw makes sounds like it might be fractured I got to get him to another veterinarians they asked me to let him stay for 2 days at $2,500 taking advantage of people's love for their pet

When a patient is brought in, we get them checked in. From there client's are placed in a room while the patient is taken to the back treatment area to get started with vitals.  We do all exams, procedures in the back treatment area.  Once an exam is completed, the attending veterinarian will go chat with the client about concerns, recommendations, and provide rough estimates.  Rough estimates do not include medications, these are additional costs.  In this case, normal protocol was followed.  The rough estimate of $520 was provided for diagnostic testing (bloodwork / x-rays/ etc. ) .  At this point we require authorization and deposit.  Once results were in we have the doctor review results with the client in a room.  From there, further treatment  or medication may be recommended depending on the findings. Which is what happened in this case.  The client declined hospitalization / stabilization for his pet due to costs. The owner approved in-house medications (injections) , iv fluids, and take- home medications, which again are additional costs.  Had, the owner declined further treatment done in-house or medications the initial estimated quote would have been accurate.  The senior discount was provided as a courtesy.  There was no surgical procedure approved or provided for this patient for this visit. If he's referring to a prior visit from three years ago, it only included a dental cleaning with a single extraction, again no surgery done.  Regardless, these were two different cases for this patient and pricing has gone up over the years.  We provided care for his pet in good faith and offered options.

The answer the business gave of how they do things and they ask for a a deposit they did not ask me for a deposit they did not ask for consent to do any of the procedures they did not have a conference with me beforehand they did not send the records to the veterinarian office that requested them when I got there they had requested the records 3 days before and while I was there they called them for the records and they never sent them and as I said the x-rays that they emailed me had a time stamp of 11:45 a.m. after I sent you my first complaint and they received it the next time the x-rays had the time stamp covered with chest and date stamped over it I feel their response is a basic and if they can't produce the original x-rays then they should be reversing the charge
