I was there for 12 days for back surgery. The first day I had an extremely negative reaction to an herbal supplement they gave me and I asked them to please note my chart that I cannot take it. They proceeded to offer me the same medication everyday that I was there and several times I had to catch up myself because they tossed it in the cup with the rest of the meds. My pain level was completely uncared for --I was left in extreme pain worse than my daughters emergency C-section. I had an allergic reaction to the ******** they gave me it made me hot sweaty and did not help the pain despite mentioning that repeatedly they continued to offer me the ******** with no other option. When I couldn't sleep they offered me melatonin which does nothing for me no other option was offered. I never slept more than an hour and a half a day while I was there. There was no toilet paper in my bathroom for 5 days despite me asking them to refill it. I had an IV left in that was not flushed or cared for for 72 hours it currently is swollen red tender and very infected looking. When I asked them to take it out they said then I'd have to " check out of the hospital" at which point I said fine I will check out because the pain is that bad. Then the nurse proceeded to call my family and tell them that I was leaving against doctor's orders despite the fact I just wanted the IV out because it was infected and painful. I never said I was leaving. As of today I've had one insure and 1 rotten banana because despite ordering two meals neither of them came and obviously none of the nurses cared.Despite this I got to listen non-stop to gossip and slander from all these people (nurses and techs) who stood out in front of this little computer lab outside my door. They sit and surf the web and watch anime for hours. I can understand why the medical business is costing so much money - there is a huge amount of waste.

EXPENSIVE PROCEDURES PERFORMED WITHOUT CONSENT BY HARBORVIEW MED CENTER I was out drinking with friends in *******, and was fairly intoxicated when I slipped on the icy sidewalk and hit my head. I was taken to Harborview Medical Center Emergency Room. When I woke up several hours later (about 4am or so?) I told the Doctor that I had no insurance and did not intend to stay any longer. The Doctor said I needed a staple for my head fracture (which I approved) and then they released me with instructions to return in a couple weeks to have the staple removed.I returned to have the staple removed as requested and shortly after returned to ******* where I live. I heard nothing from the hospital and assumed they decided not to bill me since I was out of state and had no insurance. But then about 2 months ago I was checking my credit report when I noticed a bunch of debts (like 7 in total from about $200 up to about $8000) all linked back to *********** for the above incident. I contacted *********** to find out what all the charges were for and they suggested I log into my account to find out (which I did) that is when I saw they had preformed a number of very expensive procedures on me without my consent: CT SCAN HEAD W/O CONTRAST, CT SPINE-NECK W/O CONTRAST & CHEST X-RAY 1 VW.I NEVER AUTHORIZED THEM TO DO THIS BECAUSE I HAD NO INSURANCE AT THAT TIME...! I really don't understand why they needed any of these procedures? just let me sleep off my drunkeness and then staple my head when I was sober. In my opinion I should NOT be held financially responsible for procedures I never authorized. Now I did pay for what I considered to be reasonable charges (about $1200)I was also a little surprised by the way in which the Hospital billed me (7 different billing account numbers for 2 visits) making it look like credit was much worse than it really was. It seems very unethical for them to do this in a manner that dings my credit so badly...!
