            A little over a year ago I bought a cockatiel from Whidbey Birds and Beads with my mother. At the time, I didn't know enough about cockatiels or animal breeders to understand that something was seriously wrong. I wish to report animal abuse in the form of inhumane breeding practices and care.I bought my bird when he was still a baby. We didn't meet where the breeder keeps her animals, but in a parking lot. The bird was not well groomed, he was dirty and scruffy. She pulled the bird out of some kind of sock, made the sale quickly and I never saw her again.At the vet I learned he had a beak malocclusion. It's a serious genetic defect that requires medical intervention. When I told the breeder she cut off all contact with me. In the following year I went to the animal ER and many exotic animal vets many times. He kept being sick, in pain, unable to recover. We had to put him down. The vet who euthanized him said he was as weak and frail as a 30 year old bird. He was only 2 years old.

            This place needs to be investigated. A friend of mine had a horrible experience with this business years ago. The bird died a few days after purchase and on top of that, *** did NOT offer any receipt upon purchase of the bird and met at a hospital parking lot (sketchy). If you read other negative reviews, you can see that the owner does not take any accountability at all, not even a little bit, and would accuse the customers of killing their birds or making them sick. *** should not allowed to be near or own any birds; she is an animal abuser and a scam artist.
