      After our house suffered significant water damage we used D1 Moving and Storage to move and store our belongings while repairs were being made. After they returned our belongings we discovered that a number of items were damaged or missing. Attached is a copy of my email to the General Manager of Service Master that provides the details. Service Master is the organization that we were referred to by our insurance company, who then engaged the services of D1. Also attached is a string of emails between me and D1.

      Background: Our realtor recommended this company to help us get our property out of the house before **********. The agreement was as follows:1. Remove certain items that we identified and transport them to ******** parents house. 2. Remove all other items that we identified over FaceTime and they would be taken to their storage facility where they would determine what items could be sold and at what price, all other items to be donated or trashed. They came to remove the items and delivered them to ******** parents house. The only issue is that they forgot two items. So we started chasing via email only to never really get any firm commitment other than they have them and they will deliver. I called them on Sept 9 and left a voicemail, to which no response was received. I then called on Sept 16 and spoke to ******** who scheduled a delivery for Sept 19 between 1-3pm. The items were not delivered. I called around 4pm yesterday and after 2 attempts I finally spoke to ******** who said he had the items and would personally deliver them and confirmed the delivery address. They were not delivered. I called today and asked to speak to the *** who has not returned my call and I honestly dont expect him to. Additionally, they were supposed to get an access code for a safe in the house which they never did. We also do not have an inventory of the items removed nor the selling price of the items that could be sold.

      We received a letter from your office yesterday regarding the above referenced person. 

       

      We delivered his two boxes to his in-laws house, as instructed on September 21, 2022.  ********************** lives in ******, so was not present to receive the boxes.  His in-laws were not present at the time either, so they were left on the front porch.

       

      In regards to the safe, we never stated that we would obtain a code for the safe.  The safe was built in to the laundry room.  We did not move the safe, and would not have offered to attempt to get a code for it for ***********************

       

      In regards to the items that were brought back, all were disposed of.

      Better Business Bureau:

      I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

      The response from the Company does not resolve the second portion of the complaint. The Company also took items from our house and were to sell at a consignment shop. We were promised a list of goods and respective pricing for these sales. What is the status of those items?

      All items taken from the home were donated, as they were not acceptable to put in consignment.
