      I had two accounts that were charged off almost 10 years ago. Being a young 20-something year old, I still paid the balance of the charge off. Fast forward to now, Capital One sent a preapproval letter. I did an application and it was denied. The denial reason being those two 10+ year old accounts that were paid off. No one at Capital One can answer why those accounts are still affecting credit decisions. The accounts arent on my ********************** report (its been over seven years). Its not fair that Im being penalized for accounts opened at 18/19, charged off at 20/21, paid off, and now being rejected by the same company in my 30s.

      Choosing Capital one was own of my biggest mistake. I applied for secured credit card as i was looking to build my credit score. I applied in november 2024. Till, april 2025 i was calling them every 2 times a week to confirm status of ID verification. It took Capital Ones backend team 5 months to make a decision on it and what was told to me at the end that they will not be able to proceed further because My drivers license was not upto the ***** the same license that i used now to get ********************** card(used for verification). I asked them so many times if it is taking them so long they can cancel my request and return my money back that i put down as security. Everytime is was told they cannot cancel application and it is in progress.I am not mad that they rejected my request. That is fine, the problem is that it took them 5 months to say that. What kind of verification they were doing ? Even their manager said on call that i take 2 minutes to verify identification. After that it took them over 2months to return the security deposit. Wow, what a system they have to manage requests, actually there is no system. No company takes this much time to do verification for such a small amount of card and denying requests to cancel.I got nothing but a hard credit check on my credit report. I was looking to increase credit score and it went down after inquiry. I seriously regret going to them.

      I have had a capital one card for 20 yrs They are crooked More than once they have said I didnt make a payment when I did returned payment when there was plenty of money in my account. I will pay them off cut up card and never do business with them again F*** CAPTAL ONE

      The worst customer experience ever. Paid off vehicle on July 3rd by wire transfer finally on the 17th they admitted they received payment on the 7th. Told me they would get it processed in 3-5 days today the 23 it will now be 7-10 days.

      Recently paid my credit bill with Capital One credit card but mistakenly paid $3.00 less than minimum of $28.00 Now I've received late fee of $28.00 for $3.00 mistake. Called customer service several times requesting fee reversal which they refused every time. Capital one has no compassion for the consumer let alone no morals. I hope they choke on every cent of the $28.00 late fee.

      I have never had such a terrible experience as I did with Capital One credit card.A friend transferred his miles to my card as he had to close his due to fraud. The transfer was investigated and OK'd. Next thing after 6 weeks or so after using the card, my card gets closed and the miles which were mine and his were not given back to us. It is totally unbelievable. I have had credit cards in good standing for 30 years.

      I was a Capital One credit card customer for about a decade, and I also had an Auto loan for 5 years with them that I paid off a few years ago. Capital One mailed me a replacement card that I requested as my old card had expired. I activated my new card, but all three times that I used the card this week - It was declined, and I had to call fraud prevention in the *********** to help. After the third time I called for assistance, now getting quite frustrated - I was told I needed to download the Capital One app on my phone, submit photos of my driver's license and also to take a selfie, upload that and send. I have a phone from 2017 that does not support the Capital One application. I'm flat out not buying a new phone so that I can use this card that previously, gave me no problems. I called today to explain that I would not be installing an app - and asked what ever options I had. I was told that this was a requirement to lift the fraud alert - so I next asked to cancel my account. I find this to be a ridiculous policy that I am 100% certain impacts seniors more than anything.

      Absolute clown show! Do not waste your time or energy banking with these individuals. I will never, for the rest of my days, give this company a single *****. They have zero customer service principles, so when you need to talk to them, you are treated with such disdain and rudeness that you will wish you never opened your account. Save yourself and turn around!
