      In April 2025, I became a member of Langley Federal Credit Union after purchasing a vehicle from an independent dealership in **************. Unfortunately, I quickly discovered that the vehicle had a serious engine problem. I reached out to Langley within a week to stop payment on the loan, but to my dismay, no one was willing to assist me. They continued processing payments to the dealership, leaving me with the burden of staggering repair costs.Then, in May 2025, I made my first payment and was shocked to find out that a $100,000 ***** loan had been fraudulently issued in my name, with a staggering $1,000 monthly payment. Initially, I thought I was a victim of identity theft. After a few days, I learned that this was a colossal mistake on the bank's part; a careless loan officer had run my credit report and processed a loan I never authorized. This blunder caused my credit score to plummet by 75 points, and I lost my excellent credit status.The repercussions were immediate. When I needed to renew my auto insurance in July, I could no longer access the favorable rates I had enjoyed before, despite maintaining a flawless driving record. It became abundantly clear that Langley Federal Credit Union prioritizes profit over customer service. Getting in touch with anyone at the bank was a nightmare, and I ultimately had to visit a local branch to resolve the issue. While the staff at the Short Pump branch were courteous, thats about the only positive thing I can say.I believe I am owed compensation for the distress and financial damage inflicted by this absurd situation. If you're considering joining Langley Federal Credit Union, I urge you to think twice. As someone who has been a member of several credit unions across the country, I can confidently say that this is not how a new member should be treated. Consumers, beware! Choose a credit union that truly values its members.

      We are sorry you had this experience. Unfortunately, the dispute in this case is between the member and the dealership and Langley has no legal right and no ability to stop payment on the funding of a loan under such a circumstance. However, Langley is glad to provide you with any supporting documentation which might be of assistance and is also glad to discuss options to assist you with payments options as you proceed a claim against the ************* regard to the home equity loan, once Langley was notified by member that his account showed an unfamiliar ***** a thorough investigation was completed. Langley discovered that the ***** in question was that of another individual (unrelated to this member) which was appearing on his account in error. This member was never obligated to pay on this loan and the error was promptly corrected, including ensuring that it was quickly removed from his credit reporting. Langley is willing and able to provide a letter to this member (and a phone confirmation to any party authorized by this member) stating that any appearance of this loan on his credit reporting was erroneous; as such, it should not affect his credit.

      In my opinion Langley Federal Credit Union has discriminatory lending practices, and unclear explanation and feedback on loan denials. Have to make this short due to limited word space. Account holder since 2011 & longer in good standing, multiple accounts, *********************** score 740+ and denied for multiple unsecured loans this week w/explanations that did not match the verifiable account information. 6/24 unsecured loan (app *******) denied. Appt w/branch ************* Ms. ***** was very professional, explained some info & suggested I submit another applicaiton (*******) denied also.Upon first denial I called & was kept on hold for over 24 minutes waiting for a manager. *** told me no mgr for loan ***** its an automated underwriting process. What?Automated? No mgr? Evenutally, a branch mgr came on line& appeared the call was waking her from a nap & had nothing to say,no real explanation. You can have funds in your account, but **** don't want to lend you anything. They can send you unsolicited emails advising how to use your money and invest in their cd's, money market account but cant lend you their funds. Today 7/2, a branch manager from the main office call say same & suggest home equity line. Whose home do I secure it with? And suggested I could do another application for lower amount. Why? That is what you do as a lender, look at the application, variables, DTI, account holder status, credit score, etc. and come back with a counter amount you can lend the account holder in good standing. Why do I keep submitting apps for you to deny & impact my credit score. Langley Federal Credit union, do better for your account holders, work on in house policies, staff turnoever, and most importantly don't discriminate and give members the run around and shenanigans. If you don't have funds to lend say that but don't make up stuff that doesn't apply. I have felt their loan practices where predatory & discriminatory in past but that is a feeling.

      Langley is easily the worst run bank I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. The only reason I put up with them at all is because I can't afford to pay off the rest of my auto loan immediately. When I first started with them everything was fine, aside from the fact that if you didn't log into your account every 3 months they would delete your login information from their site (why? Why would that be a feature?).
      Then in the summer of 2022 they changed something in their system, and two months later I got a late payment notice in the mail because they deleted my autopay information and didn't tell me.
      Now, in 2025, I just discovered that once again they have deleted my banking information from autopay and I owe **** instead of my normal $***. The kicker, I can't add my own checking account because my wife is the primary on that account, despite the payment coming out of that account for over 6 months.
      These people clearly cannot figure out how to do the simple things, I would highly advise you take your banking business to nearly any other institution.

      This Credit Union is very inadequate.
      My credit score was recently impacted because their online feature deliberately makes it difficult to enable auto payment. I then left the country to mobilize with my Reserve Unit and, while away, had no access to my mailbox. They only sent notices of my missed payments (solely because my auto payment was not set up "correctly") via physical mail, which I could not access while overseas for Reserve Service. I attempted to work with them to help remedy my credit score, but they refused. I now have 80 fewer points on my credit score because I chose to go overseas in service to my country.

      I will never again deal with Langley Federal Credit Union if they were the last financial institution left on the face of the earth! paying off my vehicle loan and receiving the title has been an absolute miserable and tiring process. I have been given incorrect information, misdirected and honestly been ran around in circles trying to get this process completed, absolutely pathetic! I will never recommend anyone to do business with them.

      Applied for additional loan amount of $**** paid off a $****** car loan and was denied but offer me $******* with a $****** coming back to me how disrespectful is that with a income of $******* this clearly discrimination. And I don't want to bank with them anymore

      BEWARE!!! they will permanently block your debt card if they detect any suspicious activity without verifying if the transactions were legitimate, and refuse to make it right.

      Poor customer service on weekend literally have had to call 4 times and no one has been able to cancel my card for fraudulent services. Been on hold for an hour. Asked the manager what she did she couldnt tell me what she did in her job description.
      I think it would be better if AI took over there jobs. Because a robot has more empathy then they do working there which is sad to say because robots have no empathy. Plus customer service is longer getting help for a card replacement then if i was speaking to a robot. Other banks have good customer service on weekend. But this staff needs to be fired and given a whole new staff or AI needs to take their jobs. Maybe they are losing their contract with langley and thats why their work productivity sucks right before christmas. One can only hope.

      Sounds to me like a lot of the ppl that are complaining are either elderly or not managing their account alerts and / or finances properly/diligently. This institution is literally one of the best banking institutions I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I've been with them for a little over 8 years, and they've given me great financial opportunities often without me requesting them. Also, they've given me grace on multiple occasions. Their customer service is very prompt, courteous, attentive, and very informative when it comes to my customer service needs. I'm greatly appreciative to have them as my banking institution. Great company to me, truly top tier.

      ONE OF THE WORST BANK AND WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY BEAT EVERYONE..:: spent 2 hrs trying to make a payment on my auto loan. Still no one was willing help. Worst experience ever
