I paid $599.99 for a three-year computer support subscription on March 6th, 2022. The company sent me a link to download the computer support program. The link sent did not work. I emailed the support group several times to resend me the link. I never received the link. Someone called me from Instafixus but did not understand what I wanted. I kept on asking them to resend the link. It has been 5 months since I paid for the service and I haven't been able to use the service. It just seems like I am getting a run-around every time I talk to or email the support group. Since it is so difficult to obtain a resolution, I recently sent them an email asking them for a refund. I am waiting for a response.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.I have not received the $599.99 refund as of September 1st, 2022 but will wait a few days to give the company a chance to process it. If not received within two weeks, I will reopen the case.In fairness to Instafixus, I ask you not to post this complaint unless the refund is not received in a timely manner.

I have a current service contract with Instafixus. They purport to be trained by ********* and to be an authorized ********* service company. I have called on them several times to correct various problems in the operation of my home computer, which until a few days ago they were able to resolve for me. I receive email via an account with *******/******* and also on a site maintained by ********* *******. Several days ago I received a message on my screen to the effect that I cannot get access to *******, cannot open any files stored in ******* and cannot retrieve any open files on *******. I checked ******* and still had access to current email on that site. Instafixus technicians had fixed that ******* problem before so I called them again and spoke with a person who identified himself as *********************. I shared the ******* site with **************** who did some inspection and informed me that my ****** firewall was broken and could not be repaired. He recommended that I replace the purportedly defective ****** firewall with a different firewall manufactured by "*********" and that if I did so he would negotiate a discount of more than 20% off the quoted price of several hundred dollars. I took the information but did not agree to buy the "*********".I then contacted the owner of the local store that sold me the computer. I shared the ******* site with the store owner, who fixed the problem, gave me back full access to ******* and told me that the problem had nothing to do with the ****** firewall which is working fine.So **************** either gave me incompetent advice or actually lied to me.To continue business with Instafixus I have to be able to trust them in order to rely on them. It is a conflict of interest for a technical service to also be in the business of selling firewalls. Please refer this complaint to Instafixus and publish it along with their response.Business Response

Cc: <**********************************>Dear ****************:
I am forwarding a voice mail message received yesterday from Instafixus concerning the above complaint. You can hear the actual message and can also read a partially accurate transcription of it.
This complaint was filed on August 28, 2022. I did not receive a response from Instafixus until yesterday. Apparently BBB didnt either, because your email to me was only received later in the day yesterday. Your email included a statement made by Instafixus to you. In that statement, Instafixus said they had tried to call the customer multiple times without success. If thats true, they never left a message until yesterday.
You can listen to their message for yourself. It does not respond to the fact that, as I set forth in the complaint, one of their employees either gave me incompetent advice or actually lied to me. I said that to continue business with Instafixus I have to be able to trust them in order to rely on them.
So at this point I think that I am entitled to terminate my contract with Instafixus and to receive a proportional refund of payment. On December 2, 2021, I paid them $699.99 for a 3 year (36 month) service contract. I have not used them since August 28, 2022. Therefore by arithmetic computation I am entitled to a refund of $524.99 (27/36ths of the contract price).
Upon receipt of this amount I will mark the complaint settled.
Thank you.

I began attempts to contact Instafixus on August 23,2022 using TX: ************. Left message. Second call was made August 24,2022 at 8:40 am to ************. Third call was made same day. After a while a male voice came on and said something to the affect of "This call is over." Then hung up. In addition to these calls, I have also called two other numbers that I found on their site today (Aug. 25) ************ (left message) and ************ twice. First time a name was given, but I did not catch it. Called a second time to get the name but the message said: "this number does not take any calls." My reason for calling Instafix was to get help with restoring several functions that were messed up following my attempt to set up my log-in for the new ********************* website. I spent over an hour with *** on Aug. 22 and 23 trying to resolve the problem. I then decided to call Instafix for help. Both our laptop and desktop are unable to access either of our bank accounts now (***** and ***) VERY CONCERNING! My sign-up with Instafix and subsequent interactions with the company until now were satisfactory, and we had been happy with the service. Names and dates of contact: I spoke with *********************** on Jan. 26, 2022 and ******************* or May 9. After reading the complaints on the BBB website, I am now very suspicious of this company and need your assistance. I paid $599 for three years of service. I have uploaded three documents pertaining to this issue.Business Response

Posting on behalf of my elderly mother. INSTFIXUS is a 100% scam business. This company preys on fixed-income elderly people who get scammed by them into buying stuff they don't need. They conned my mother, who can barely afford to put gas in the car, out of $699 to "Speed Up" her ***. BTW, they sold her **** stuff, not ***. The only thing they did was speed up the depletion of her bank account. When I called customer service I reached a third-world call center and was given all sorts of excuses. Ed, the guy who sold her, was on a customer call and would call back. Never did. The billing department was busy and would call me back. They never did. That's because they aren't a real business. A real business has processes, procedures, and people. They have a call center and give you a circle-jerk experience without a happy ending. This company set up a ******* website and hung their shingle to steal money from people. Stay far away from them. I am filing a formal complaint with the FTC and since I know the founders of *******, they as well. This scam business should have its business legs amputated and its money, frozen. I hope karma catches up with them before I do, but either way, they won't be taking more money from people if I can help it. They will never forget the pain of invoice #***** for $699.99, for putting them on blast and out of business.Business Response

I had been having trouble getting email on my computer. On March 5th 2022, I was working on my computer and saw a pop-up from ******** Since I have my -mail account from ******** I opened it and clicked on the link. I believed I was dealing with ******** When I told them my problem, they said they could help me fix it. They added that the problem was I needed a firewall to protect my files, and connected me to a company called Instafixus LLC, to install the firewall. Instafixus asked for access to my computer, which I granted, and I could see them opening various files. They said they were going to install the firewall and would charge my credit card $499.99 (the first price quoted to me was $700). I offered my AARP card, which was declined. Then I offered my ****** Mileage Plus card from *****, which was accepted. Instafixus told me not to use my computer for the next 6 hours, because the technicians would be setting up the firewall. Three days later, a friend suggested potential fraud and that my computer files might be getting hacked. I unplugged my computer immediately and notified both of my credit cards that I was a potential victim of fraud and computer hacking. I asked for new credit cards and cancelled the old ones. I then contacted ******* directly and discovered that I already had a safe and functional firewall. ******* also stated that they would never charge me for a firewall, because I already had one.I am contesting the $499.99 charge to my ***** ****** credit card. I was convinced to purchase a product I didnt need through deceptive marketing practices an entity represented itself as ******* to sell me a firewall, which is already provided by my ISP, ******** My fraud claim was denied because I received benefit from the transaction. However, I replaced my computer immediately, so the software which required complete control of my computer for six hours was useless to me.Business Response
