I thought I was speaking with an ***** employee and this person at this office stated he was. He told me I needed a Cyber Privacy Shield installed on my computer. I agreed and paid $699.99.Later that day, I realized I was not speaking to a certified ***** employee or a ****** support technician and I have not received this product he sold me. As the many other complaints have been filed, I am unable to reach anyone at this number to speak to them, because they hang up. First, I am seeking complete reimbursement for the $699.99 they charged me Second, I am curious why this company still exists and is allowed to continue to scam elderly people like myself. I will be filing a complaint with my local authorities and the FTC also. This is elder financial abuse and a reportable offense. I look forward to hearing from you soon.Business Response

On March 29, 2022, I purchased a security system from Instafixus for $299.00. Today, on 11/9/22 they called me to tell me they have received complaints about the security and are going out of business. He said they are offering people a refund. The person then wanted to go into my computer to uninstall the software. I did not feel comfortable with this. He then said he would have their account department contact me to send me my refund. How do I know I am not being scammed? I want my refund of $299.00 but am not comfortable having them go into my computer. Please advise!Business Response

Nov 8, 2022 Order #***** *************************** Ext229 Direct Line ************ Toll Free ************ Warranty #****** Transaction #********* Accepted a call from Mr. S********** which concerned my email which has been problematic recently. I wanted to check out the company but he sounded very knowledgeable & I proceeded although red flags were appearing. Complimenting my voice/appearance and getting my age; dropping the price by about half; I paid $700 for 3 years of online computer repairs. Next morning, I couldn't reach anyone at the contacts and my computer had 2 icons on home screen for emails which when opened had nothing in them. I googled the company and realized my mistake. It was such a stressful day when I purchased this (my dog was in major surgery & I was pressed for time to pick her up) that I didn't do my due diligence. So easy for these types of companies to pull off these scams. I very much want to get my money refunded and prevent anyone else from this experience. I'm also concerned about my security as this technician was "inside my computer" making changes. I would so much appreciate your assistance with getting this accomplished, *********************************Business Response

I am 80 years old and dont know much about computers. A seamingly nice young man called me from that s Company three days ago. He s number had popped up on my screen when I was having trouble with ****** ******. He led me to believe he was with ******. I foolishly believed him. He claimed to be in Virginia but on my computer paperwork says he was in India. A man claiming to be a tech from ****** “fixed” my computer. The salesman wanted my banking info. They charged me $699 for three years of computer pertection. I then saw where they were scammers. All my things were to be covered but thank God he only messed with my computer. I tried to fix by changing my password and they are trying to shut it down. I am terrified. I am reporting them to Attorney General of State of Virginia and State of Indiana. I want my money back and them out of my computer. I have a very bad heart with a pacemaker and defibrillator also other damage to it. I am extremely upset. Please, please BBB stop them from attacking we seniors!! I am also calling Virginia Bureau of FBI Thank you BBB for your help.Business Response

12 Oct 2022 Yesterday I ******* searched what to do when cannot find ones email. Immediately Instafixus LLC said they would call with support which they did. The tech explained the situation and informed me that I’d been hacked because of lack of a good Firewall. He showed me a long list of hacks, many listed as “Critical,” and that he could help resolve the problem. I was to not touch my computer, keyboard or printer and that he’d call when done. But first, he charged my credit card 699.99 for 3 years of Firewall protection. I was aghast, but didn’t know what else to do. I accepted the terms but grew suspicious when he transferred me to “Max” for final approval of my payment. Once done, the tech began working. My monitor was left on and I could watch him working. After almost 2 hours, he called to say he was done and that all was okay. Today, I grew suspicious again when there wasn’t an Instafixus Icon on my desktop, alerts or comments while working on the computer. After reading Better Business Bureau complaints “Instafixus LLC Billing Collection Issues,” I realized I was scammed and will notify my bank and other financial institutions of this situation. I am surprised Instafixus LLC is still in business due to their fraudulent service. I am requesting Instafixus to send me a FULL refund of 699.99 to my credit card.************************* ******************************* McKenzie, TN ********** ********************* ************Business Response

On September 18, 2022, INSTAFIXZUS LLC gained control, with my permission (** does remote work as well), and, supposedly fixed the issues I was having with my computer. The repairs lasted just long enough for the technician to get off the phone and the same problems were back again. I paid $200 to INSTAFIXUS LLC on that date with check no ******* drawn off my ***************** in ***********, ** which is ******* ********************* When I called INSTAFIXUS LLC and demanded my money back and the reason they said they would get another technician to work on it. I blatantly told them I wanted a refund started immediately and I would have someone reputable work on it this time. There was an argument that ensued as to not giving a refund because they could fix it. I finally won out and was told someone would be calling me in one to two hours to begin the refund. I told him they had an hour to return the call as I had another commitment after that time frame. Now the waiting game begins.Business Response

IInstafixus LLC is the king of “deceptive trade practices” and should have their “B” rating with the Better Business Bureau reduced to that of “F” rating. Better yet, they should be barred from any online tech support assistance. They prey on innocent individuals, like most of the individuals who filed complaints with your department. I guess because those complaints weren’t taken more seriously, you may now add my “elderly woman voice of 70 years of age” that growing list of complaints. The sad part is, like rape, how many of Instafixus LLC’s deceptive trade practices and money theft actions goes unreported. I did not solicit their online help on March 27, 2022. But somehow during the process of my husband and I trying to setup my new computer with ***** (we are not IT techs), Instafixus LLC tech person, I guess named Michael W*****, was able to contact me on my cell phone and before it was over, it cost me $299.99 for 3 years of tech support . You might think that was a bargain and I should be appreciative , but they got the money under duress and scarring me that all computers now days had to have whatever they were peddling to be lawfully compliant. “Lawfully Compliant” I had no idea what that meant. Finally, I told my husband “Let’s just give them the damn $299.99, and “just forget this whole unsettling experience”. But little did I know the worst was yet to come. By June 23, 2022, the computer I had purchased in March of 2022 had serious problems and had to be returned to the vendor. Didn’t give it much thought, except how I dreaded the whole idea of having to deal with Instafixus LLC tech support, because my husband I still weren’t IT savvy . But our delight, this time we had no problems in setting up the second computer. Then on August 25, 2022 I got a voice message from Ron who said that Instafixus LLC was going out-of-business due to covid and the company wanted to refund my $299.99. All I had to do was call 810-671-0933. I called Ron onBusiness Response
