This is another too good to be true story. I made the mistake of subscribing, was disappointed in the magazine so I cancelled early. They continued to charge me but sent me no more magazines. Its impossible to get customer service, my calls were not returned. I finally filed a claim through my bank and was refunded months later.

This is an Email I sent to Historynet. I am shocked and dismayed at how dysfunctional your company has prooved itself to us.We received a Wild West renewal notice in the mail but ignored it because my dad did not want to renew.Your company took it upon themselves to force upon us an auto renew without our permission or notification.I called to cancel the auto renewed subscription and I was told by e-mail that is was cancelled a refund will be issued and to check our bank account.I gave ample time for the refund which was never received and called you again and was told it was a glitch and a refund would be issued. We never got that one either.I called again and was told that due to time lapse a check would need to be issued and I would receive one in the mail. That refund check has never been delivered.I even got an email from you confirming a check would be mailed. On top of all this my dad only got three issues and not four for the annual subscription. It is no wonder your Better Business Bureau rating is an F even though you are not accredited. Clearly our experience with your company has been beyond comprehension and unbelievably negligent and to the level of fraudulence, We are now going into May and the issue with your mismanaging our one-year subscription is shocking. No way would I ever recommend your company and warn People Beware!Unhappy ************** *******

I also have to add my discontent with Historynet LLC, absolutely the worst in customer service. I have tried contacting them twice via email, my daughter has tried to contact them twice via email and I have written two letters. My daughter has been renewing my subscription for years as a birthday gift. I will be looking elsewhere for a magazine subscription for this era.

I have been a faithful subscriber of Vietnam magazine which is part of Historynet for many years. Although I have a paid up subscription through 10/2024 I have not received an issue since summer of 2023. I have called the 800 number and it hangs up. I have sent emails and have not received a response. I tried the 800 number again today and it hangs up right away.
It appears to me the company has ceased operations.

This publishing company is the most incompetent organization I have had the misfortune to have to deal with. I have two subscriptions to one of their magazines (Military History), which they manage to foul up every year. This has happened EVERY year since I added the second subscription for a friend, and has only gotten worse since they started their online blog/service. Getting through to a real person at customer service has taken four to five hours each time to get a call back, and usually the person is of little help. My friend used to get two subscriptions to another of their magazines (Vietnam) for the two of us, but cancelled them last year out of frustration from dealing with this company. I just found out that the last two issues of last year's subscriptions, that neither of us ever received, were digital only. I told the customer rep. that I had paid for paper issues, NOT unwanted digital issues and should be reimbursed for the missed issues (two per subscription). The rep said they will not do that. I also told them to cancel the current subscriptions, which I had renewed last November. I was told they will do that, but it will take SEVEN to TWELVE WEEKS to get my refunds (two separate checks). I asked to speak with a supervisor, but none could be found that were available. I then asked the rep to have a supervisor call me, but I am not optimistic that that will ever happen. Is this any way to run a legitimate business? There does not seem to be any accountability with this company.

I completely agree with Douglas M. except I had signed up for the magazine MILITARY HISTORY.

I paid for a continuation of my subscription, which I have had for several years, passing it on to a friend to read when I was done. However, last fall I received an e-mail from Zinio Digital Magazines that the magazine would now be digital and could only be read on-line. As you can imagine, I was only able to access the main article, not the entire magazine.

As Douglas also experienced, I called the same phone number with no response or call-back. And after e-mailing customer service, I received a service request number on December 31, but no further response since then.

I have nothing good to say about Historynet LLC. The only reason I gave it one star is because the computer required me to mark something, but they didn't even do one star's worth of effort to help resolve my issue.

I have tried to contact History net via email and phone. They are not responsive. I have not received any issues. I have not received any issues for two subscriptions for at least 6 months. I agree with the F given by the BBB.

My experience with HistoryNet is negative. I would not recommend subscribing to HistoryNet LLC. The reason is I subscribed to the magazine WILD WEST, which they publish, April 17, 2023. I paid $29.95 for the subscription and received a confirmation number. As of December 2023 I received one issue of the magazine. On August 26, 2023 I subscribed to AMERICAN HISTORY for a 2 for 1 subscription offer for $36. I have never received a single issue. I have tried to contact HistoryNet by phone 800 - 435 - 0715 a number of different times and have never spoke to live customer service person. I have emailed HistoryNet customer service about my problem and received a service request number October 31, 2023. I have never heard back from them. The magazine subscriptions I am supposed to have will renew automatically. To sum up my experience with HistoryNet NO magazines, NO customer service. Now I will have contact my credit card service to make sure they don't bill me anymore.
