I was billed over $2000 out of pocket for a root canal and a extraction. This is about double what I expected to pay. Despite my providing Xrays from my dentist, they took a cone beam CT WHICH I DID NOT NEED - $490 - and they knew insurance would not cover that. I was not in the position to refuse that service at the time. Also, the practice billed me for a number of other services I did not receive. They saw my excellent coverage ********** *******, AND BIue Cross) as a CASH COW ready to milk. Im surprised I wasnt charged for using the water fountain! Save yourself some money and find an honest practice -somewhere else.

I was referred to the Greater Washington Endodontics by my dentist. when I called their office I asked if they accept my insurance. they confirmed that yes they do. when I got to the office I was informed that I needed 3 root canal. in which the front office has requested a credit card to be on file in addition to the insurance card. ****************** stated the work should be no longer than ***************************************************************************************************************** if I would like to proceed.Later on several times I tried to reach out to the office manager to follow up he continued to avoid answering my phone calls. finally I ws able to speak to the coordinator at the office I explained to her the situation. She apologized and stated the doctor is been doing business for the last 30 years and he has not updated any of the billing codes nor any systems. as far as the office being aware of them scamming people by not telling them what is the actual cost is prior of doing the work. She stated that is what they were instructed from the doctor, and it is a patient responsibility to request explanation of detail statement. evidently that medical practiceis doing the same thing with all patients. I checked the reviews for that practice and the specific doctor. it is the same issue. the practice calming it is the patient responsibility to understand their insurance needs. The office is well aware that they are scaring patients by telling them yes we do take the insurance while they know that the insurance does not accept a lot of the codes that they are billing then the balance becomes the patient responsibility.
