They railroaded me, forcing me to undergo an exam I didnt have the money to pay for because they could only tell me the cost afterwards because of insurance, which has not been true for any doctor or dentist Ive ever been to. I broke down and cried in the waiting room when I got the bill. Was charged almost $600 out of pocket for x-rays AFTER INSURANCE, after being told it was affordable, and after they refused my dentists X-rays that were taken months prior because "they need the correct angles." The X-ray technician took a single angled X-ray and could not have cared less about how precise it was, just that it was in the right area. Another $50 for him "tapping" on my gums. Was quoted $4000 out of pocket, after insurance, for 2 root canals, but was only given this quote after the X-rays they forced me to take. Was then told repeatedly to get the medical credit card they hawk so I can go into more medical debt. After I denied treatment and go into $4,600 of medical debt because I had no other option, I was assured my tooth infection may get worse but that it's not a massive risk. I politely left, but as soon as I arrive home, still crying, I get a call - it's them saying they made a mistake, 1 tooth was manageable but the other needs to be operated on right away, and they'd love to sign me up for their credit card! They are predatory and intentionally mislead patients to try to extract as much money as possible from them. When I left a review, they selectively posted parts of our story (lying) and called me dramatic, in writing online, which I found incredibly unprofessional to call a patient. I risked my physical and financial health coming here. It's expensive, disorganized, and shady. I want an apology, hopefully a refund, and for no more patients to have to experience what I did.

I was referred to the Greater Washington Endodontics by my dentist. when I called their office I asked if they accept my insurance. they confirmed that yes they do. when I got to the office I was informed that I needed 3 root canal. in which the front office has requested a credit card to be on file in addition to the insurance card. ****************** stated the work should be no longer than ***************************************************************************************************************** if I would like to proceed. they did the work without informing me of anything. once work was complete I returned to the front desk they informed me with my portion would be $3731.00 and if paid by credit card a fee of $148.87 would be added so they charged my account with the amount of $3,879.87. Two weeks later when I returned for my follow up I requested to speak to the office manager, I questioned him about the balance and he stated that he would file an appeal with the insurance company.Later on several times I tried to reach out to the office manager to follow up he continued to avoid answering my phone calls. finally I ws able to speak to the coordinator at the office I explained to her the situation. She apologized and stated the doctor is been doing business for the last 30 years and he has not updated any of the billing codes nor any systems. as far as the office being aware of them scamming people by not telling them what is the actual cost is prior of doing the work. She stated that is what they were instructed from the doctor, and it is a patient responsibility to request explanation of detail statement. The practice calming it is the patient responsibility to understand their insurance needs. The office is well aware that they are scaring patients by telling them yes we do take the insurance while they know that the insurance does not accept a lot of the codes that they are billing then the balance becomes the patient responsibility.

I was referred to Dr ********************** by my dentist to complete a root canal.I scheduled an appointment at the Fairfax location and they verified insurance covered. The assistant promised me that she would call me back regarding a quote. She never did. I called back the day before the appointment and she said it was "not possible" to garner a quote. I told her i didn't want to get stuck "spending $1000 dollars on root canal". The assistant laughed it off promising it wouldn't cost nearly that much regardless of how much work was required. I showed up for the appointment and brought up the same concern. She mentioned that they would not know my total costs until well after the procedure and they worked with the insurance company. She reiterated that a quote was not possible. The procedure itself went well. It was determined that two root canals needed to be done. This office demanded over $1800 be paid on the spot before I left the office. Some major issues with this: 1) Assistant assured me the price would be nowhere near this. She promised it would be nowhere near $1000 but it turned out to be almost that exact amount per root canal. I was also assured that they couldn't possibly come up with a cost that day but a bill was provided instantly after procedure. 2)On the follow up I brought my concern up with the Doctor. He attempted to remind me that "my assistant quoted you". I mentioned that was a complete lie and I never got a quote despite asking for one multiple times. He shrugged it off and said "our prices are our prices". I once again mentioned that I was never told prices and instead of addressing it, he walked away. 3)They made me feel like a hostage and would not let me leave before paying on the spot. Even though my credit card was on file they would not let me make payments over time. I've never experienced this at a Dr's Office. After reading other reviews for Dr  ********************** I realize many others have been scammed in a similar way.
