On 9/20/25 I went into a store in *********, **. This business is in a strip mall type complex with multiple businesses sharing one parking lot. I parked the car in the parking lot, and was in the store for approximately 15 minutes. As I was returning to the car, I saw a tow truck from A-1 Towing parked by the car, and the driver was just about to start towing the car. I stated I was just about to leave, and the driver told me that I could not park there and indicated he was still going to tow the car. I showed him my receipt from the framing business proving that I had literally just come from one of the businesses in the complex and that I was allowed to use their parking lot. He started getting very argumentative and finally told me in an angry tone that I needed to park somewhere else. I believe that A-1 Towing is a predatory company and randomly tows cars even though they are not violating any parking laws or policies. This causes undue stress for customers, and can cause harm to businesses because customers might not want to patronize a place where they can't even park for 15 minutes. This shines a bad light on the Arlington business district.

On the evening of Thursday, May 29th, 2025, at approximately 11:05 PM, my vehicle, a black ************** was towed by A1 Towing from the tenant-only parking garage at ********************, where I reside. I was informed that the reason for the tow was that my license plate was allegedly not visible. This is factually incorrect. My license plate was placed on the interior windshield, positioned between the glass and the dashboard vent, and easily visible to anyone standing outside the vehicle. When I recovered my vehicle from A1 Towing, I found that the license plate had been shoved deep into the vent, rendering it no longer visible. This strongly suggests the plate was dislodged after the vehicle was towed, directly contradicting the justification provided for its removal. Additionally, my vehicle information, including make, model, and license plate number, is listed on my lease agreement, which management or the towing company could have referenced before authorizing the tow. No one made any attempt to verify the vehicles ownership or the reason for being in the secured garage, which is only accessible with a tenant fob.

Terrible company with horrid customer service. I called to report several vehicles that are parked illegally in my condo community parking lot (without proper stickers, taking up space from paying residents). The rep said they do not do anything about vehicles parked illegally, and that I was "snitching" and hung up on me. When I tried to call back to report her unprofessional behavior, I suddenly was put on hold multiple times and could not reach a human. Avoid this company at all costs.

My wife went to visit her son from PA, somehow 1 letter was mistaken, car model, color and all matched, still they towed her car, seriously, common sense or no brain for these brainless “human” being, car has her veteran plate frame, still gets towed, “ the rude lady” at window will not allowed her to see and inspect her car before she could retake her car, $180
These pieces of human waste are lucky I was not there, do not use them for anything

A-1 Towing towed my rental vehicle from Comfort Inn in Pentagon City where I was a registered guest with a valid parking pass. They towed my vehicle on 9/16/23 at 4:13 am. I picked it up on 9/16/23 at 10:42 am. The charge was $215. They claimed there was no parking pass displayed, but when I picked it up, the parking pass was visible on the console.
I submitted a complaint to Comfort Inn, both local and corporate, as they have some responsibility for contracting with this company whose business practices border on the illegal.
Businesses like this give the area a very negative reputation.

Another predatory tow company. Towed without warning from my own apartment complex in the middle of the night for a missing state inspection sticker. Didn't find out until a couple days later so they were free to stack "storage" charges on top of already outrageous fees. They charge the highest prices possible. So for a state matter that would have at worst earned me a warning from the state, I was overcharged hundreds of dollars by an unrelated private company. They're located in a very rundown and seemingly dangerous area. Don't expect return phone calls, their customer service is atrocious - their employees lack basic competence and decency. Businesses are supposed to provide value to their community - what is the value of secretly towing good citizens' cars from their own homes? Companies like A1 are nothing but parasites on our community and on humanity as a whole. Please do not do any business with this establishment.
