I contacted Neerings Plumbing for help installing a thermostat I had already purchased. My old unit had failed, and I needed a replacement quickly during a stretch of hot weather. When I called, they informed me that sending a technician to assess the job would cost about $90, just to determine if they could perform the work. The technician inspected the system and explained that the installation would cost more because my AC is line voltage. He then quoted the price upfrontover $500 for the installation. I was surprised by the cost but agreed due to the urgency of the situation. After the service, I experienced significant buyers remorse. The job took roughly 90 minutes, and while the technician was courteous and completed the wiring, the overall value felt questionable. When I followed up with the company to understand the high cost, a manager explained that their pricing includes 35% overhead and a 25% profit marginmeaning 60% of what I paid wasn't for labor or service, but internal markup. For comparison, I contacted several other licensed providers in the area, and the same job would have cost between $150 and $250.This experience left me feeling that the pricing was excessive for the level of service provided, especially in a time-sensitive residential situation. I believe the companys pricing practices are exploitative and inflated, and Im sharing this so others are aware of what to expect before hiring.

I paid for these guys to start up and shut down my swamp cooler for two years in a row. Last year I was told my belt was bad and needed replacement. I agreed and he told me it would $182!!! I was shocked because I had maintained my own cooler for over 20 years and I knew how much a belt cost and how long it takes to replace. Cost was 7$, time to replace, about 30 seconds. These were supposed to shut down and start up my cooler properly. They didn't. Despite my medical condition I decided that this year I would once again do it myself. Once I got on roof this morning and looked inside my cooler (only 4 years old) I find pads that are garbage, a layer of dirt silt a quarter in thick on the bottom of the pan, and a lose net around to bottom of the pump that is designed to keep bad stuff out of the pump and going into the pads. About 4 months after I purchased my new cooler through them they did a perfect shutdown. After that, garbage. They don't drain before shutdown, don't clean anything. Today I replaced all 4 pads, the pump. I will clean it tomorrow once the water I put in it brings up the silt garage and I can drain it. Prior to them replacing my cooler I used them to replace my drain system for my kitchen sink. It to failed 6 months ago. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS! They are way over priced and their quality sucks!

Beware of what you're paying for with Neerings. Paying $500 for a $30 thermocouple that takes less than 10 minutes to install just doesn't seem ethical to me. I know this because I had this same thermocouple replaced last year by Neerings and I put up stink last year when they charged me $500 for work that took about 5 minutes and a $10-$30 standard thermocouple. I work with Neurologist every day who are dealing with serious health issues and they may get paid between $175 hr to $300 hr. I have other examples but this is the most recent. The single star is for the service people and customer service agent, they do know what they're doing and are kind representatives. This said, who ever is responsible for ********* pricing is without shame and gouging people without regard.

Neerings Plumbing & Heating were able to come out the same day I called. When *************************** arrived he was very kind and listened to what I was describing. I was just frazzled hearing how much a replacement tankless water heater was. He found the problem with my current tankless water heater and he was on his way. I love the service and I highly recommend them.

BEWARE OF ********************************************** ***** - Im here to save you a LOT of $$$$$$. Do not even consider using ******************************************************** **** They have a real scheme going, charging an exorbitant amount more than what other plumbing companies charge. We obtained bids after the fact which were of the price they charged us.Here is an example: I had them replace a 5-sprinkler manifold, which took 3 hours to replace; and I had already dug out the area around the valves.Material + Tax = $150.00 Labor + Burden = $984.72 Operating Expense = $445.34 Net Profit (11%) = $201.31 Total Invoice = $1,781.37 Neerings explanation of the above:1) The cost of material + tax that we use for the task we are performing.2) The average hourly rate we pay our technicians + the cost of employing that technician such as, taxes, health insurance benefits, fringe benefits, retirement benefits. 3) Our operating expense is calculated at 25% of each task. (10% below the industry average) This is included in pricing to cover our expenses as a company including trucks, tools, fuel, insurance, training, support staff, licensing, insurance, facilities, etc.4) We use a fair industry standard of 25% as our goal. I say goal because we use an average time on the job and past material cost, but every job is a little bit different and can sometimes be performed quicker or may take longer, but we hold pricing.

On October 26, 2023, I called Neerings to do a service for a water leak. As I had the service workers at my home, I also asked for them to replace a sink (which I had the sink) and replace a leaking main line.In order to fix the leak, the workers had to cut a hole in my ceiling in order to access where the leak was coming from. The workers indicated they would not fix the hole in which they created to get to the leak.Upon the request to replace the sink, the workers damaged the fermica countertops. I told the workers I would look into fixing it as I was already frustrated with the hole in the ceiling which they would not repair. They also indicated that I would have to drill the hole for the dish soap. The sink is not secure and in place and the caulking that was done was very shotty and did not look perfessional at all.I had to replace a drain pump for my dishwasher. When I got under the sink to disconnect the hose that goes into the garbage disposal, I learned that the hose was not even tight which was causing a leak under my sink. For the 3 services they performed (water leak, sink replacement, and main line elbow replacement), the cost came to $3,900!!I called the office 3 times to speak to a manager to discuss the conernes I had with the hole in my ceiling, damaged countertops, and leak under the sink, which I was told each time that they were in the field and would call me back. I have never received a call back.I am extreamly disappointed from the service and damage caused which I have had to fix!!

Not Trustworthy - I will never use Neerings again and warn you to do the same. They are worse than an auto repair shop using scare tactics with exhorbitant price quotes. They have clearly trained their heartless staff to take advantage wherever they can. They came to do annual maintenance/cleaning on my boiler/heater. I payed them in advance last year for this service somewhere in the range of $150. To their credit they at least called me to schedule the annual maintenance this year as I had forgotten. However, I believe they do this solely to get into your home and scare you into buying more services. And I paid $150 for that priviledge. In my case, within 5 minutes of arrival they had identified a burner that needed to be replaced. The quote was $1076. I replaced the part myself. It literally took me ***************************************************** $34 online. Back to the story. I looked at them dumbfounded and said, please just finish the maintenance I already paid for. They continued to state if I didn't replace it I would die of CO2 poisoning. They had turned off the entire system to begin their maintenance and when I asked them to just finish they cleaning, they refused to put the burners back in due to liability concerns. They then found more items requiring attention including a PRV valve replacement (their quote was $1027) and a sticky fill valve (their quote $989) and to clean the boiler heat exchanger would be ($4600). The exchanger cleaning was supposed to be part of the maintenance I already paid for. They then had the gull to suggest I should really replace the entire boiler system and quoted ($40,709). However, he did say they were giving me a 10% discount. Really? How nice of them. In the end, they left after cleaning only two of the seven burners, refused to turn my heating system back on due to liability concerns and couldn't find a replacement burner. Luckily I can fix this myself for $34.
