My mother was a Marcus customer and she passed with dementia in July of this year. I was an authorized account manager and power of attorney on her accounts. When she passed the funds were set to be distributed to my sister and myself, which did take place. As part of the closing of my mother's estate, the clerk of court is requesting a copy of my beneficiary document that I could not locate. On 11/5/25 I called Marcus customer service and was transferred to the documents team. Spoke with *********** who advised he would send the requested documents to me via mail. I requested the documents to be sent via e-mail and he stated that was not possible. *********** advised I should receive in 7-10 business days. I called back today, 11/18/25 to check the status since I had not received the documents as of yet. Spoke with ****** on the document s team who put me on hold for about 15 minutes, came back to tell me that they needed another copy of my letter of testamentary. When I inquired why had no one contacted me about this they could not explain, apologized for the consistent errors and stated only way I could proceed was to mail (once again, cannot e-mail) the letter of testamentary. This will take another 2 weeks to send and have that document uploaded + another 2+ weeks for the documents originally requested to be mailed and received. I requested a supervisor and after ****** talking over me, stalling for time, telling me how long it would be before a supervisor could be reached, etc. I reached ***** who was also of no assistance and kept just apologizing for all of the previous errors. I asked for Deija's leader, ***** located in the ***** facility, however evidently ***** does not talk to customers or former customers. Now it will be almost one month by the time remail/mail the information while holding up the closing of my mother's estate.

I opened a Marcus account, and just two days later it was suspended without explanation. Now they demand a notarized affidavit to release my own money and refuse to accept electronic verification. Its frustrating and unreasonable for a bank to allow an account to be opened, then block access so quickly. Customer experience like this is unacceptable.

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding a series of serious issues with my Marcus *********** savings and CD accounts were compromised, and despite your team locking the accounts, the hackers gained access again the same night.Despite multiple account lockouts, the issue continued to occur repeatedly.I called more than 30 times and spoke with different representatives each time, yet no one seemed to know what my previous calls were about, and there was no record of my prior communications in their system.i find it unbelievable that any bank could operate with such a lack of security, competence, efficiency, and responsibility when handling customer funds.I spent nearly three months working with customer service to recover my funds, which was a long and stressful process.Subsequently , Marcus withdrew several thousand dollars from my linked local bank account without my authorization, which took another two months to resolve. The repeated breaches and lack of clear communication have destroyed my confidence in your institution's ability to protect customer assets and data. I expect a detailed explanation of how these failures occurred, what corrective measures have been implemented, and written assurance that this won't happen again.***** and Dr **** ******

Worst bank ever dealt with. Tried to open new cd account for daughter on 18th birthday. Tried online but asked to call instead. Spoke with 2 people, one being a manager, both decline my new account, and won't tell me the reason. Felt like a criminal. Both didn't have the decency to empathize. Shameless and very unprofessional for such a big investment company.

Marcus has charged my account with a sizable early withdrawal penalty based on false information that was given to me by their agent on a recorded line. Marcus also failed to verify actual financial transactions on their internet system that clearly indicate my intention of closing a CD with instructions that a certain amount be rolled over into a new CD and the remaining funds transferred to my bank. I am attempting to recover these funds.

Opened a high yield saving account with them about a year ago. Went to log into my accounts and I was locked out. When I called to see why I was locked out I was told they would no longer be doing business with us and our account would be closed. I was told we would get a wire transfer back to our original back within three days. It's been 3 days and I got a call that they denied all transfers. How do you close my account but won't let me retrieve my money? Spent two hours on the phone and still got no where. I would not recommend Marcus to anyone. There should be no reason why we can't obtain our own money. They didn't give us an explanation as to why our account was even closed or locked to begin with. Save your time and go elsewhere.

The worst bank. They let me do a wire transfer on September 19th, now Im trying to do the same wire transfer on October 6th and they say Ive now become ineligible. How does that happen? Its my money. They wont let me have my own money? Im pretty sure thats illegal. Then when I ask how Ive become ineligible they cant tell me because its a case by case basis. Is that profiling?? Case by case means they just get to choose if they want to be nice that day? So ridiculous. Do not bank with them if you want access to your own hard earned money

I'm giving them 1 star as this seems to be the average customer experience. Unfortunately I checked BBB after having recently opened a ladder of CD's with them. Had I read the BBB reviews, I wouldn't have touched them with a ******** the meantime the BBB gives them an A+ rating. This leaves me to feel that the BBB has become bogus, whereas it was once a trusted source.Oh well, at least you didn't delete the unfavorable comments of the many people who find themselves in customer service h*** I'm praying that my experience will be uneventful.

The online company Marcus by Goldman Sachs, uses a company named **** to handle part of their Deposit and Fraud affairs. **** is known to hire drug addicts and criminals. The company had to fire a good percentage of staff because they failed to do proper background checks. I was not trained properly for my role and was thrown on the floor with empty promises that we will have trainers to walk around and answer questions. I've read reviews and it seems because Goldman Sachs entrusted their affairs with the likes of ****. **** has leadership who they just randomly threw in the roles because I received this from the horses mouth and it shows. I think Goldman Sachs should reconsider their relationship with this company given the fact their have been numerous misfiling of disputes. Placing customer's accounts on hold who should not even be considered suspicious.
