1 starIf I could give USAA zero stars, I would. This is hands down the most dishonest, incompetent, and downright predatory financial institution Ive ever dealt with. They pretend to serve military families and veterans with honor, but the truth is they exploit that trust and run their bank like a scam operation. USAA gave me a provisional credit during a dispute and then snatched it back days later without warning like some back-alley loan shark. They didnt notify me. They didnt explain. They just drained the account, leaving it in the negative like it was Monopoly money. If this is how they treat customers, especially those tied to military families, they should be ashamed to exist under the USAA name. They let unauthorized transactions slide, failed to protect my money, and acted like it was my fault when they couldnt manage their own system. Their support is useless robotic, cold, and more interested in covering their own mess than helping the people theyre supposed to serve. To the people working there: I hope you all reflect on the fact that you work for a company that thrives on robbing from the very people it claims to protect. You arent helping anyone youre just pushing buttons in a system built to s**** people over. Run from USAA. *** pulled every cent out and moved to a real bank that actually values its customers. Dont wait until they pull the rug out from under you because they will.Review fromemily b

1 starYesterday after 14 years of banking with USAA without proper notice they restricted my bank accounts. With my direct deposits just being ************ a 100 percent disabled veteran and depend on that income to pay my bills and buy food. After talking to the banking representative on the phone regarding the situation she stated they did what they did because my accounts had excessive bank disputes. That I submitted. Well USAA states that you as a consumer can dispute a transaction without notifying the other party. It can go in your favor or not. But I have the right to dispute a claim. Now they have over 3000 dollars of my money that I use to pay my bills to survive including food on hold for 60 days.. I can't pay my mortgage I can't buy food I can't pay my utilities.. And they claim that they are for military families and service members stay Away from USAAReview fromRobert C

1 starI was with USAA for over 7 years, a Marine for 6 years and made on time payments for a majority of my time with USAA this month I was 3 weeks late on my payment and USAA cancelled my policy when I called to ask why they claimed a text was sent July 2nd I did not recieve it and then no further rcommunication. Today I begged for 30 minutes for them to please reinstate my policy they said the only thing they could do was start a new one with a payment of another 400$ due immediately this company is trash to veterans and active members stay away.. cash grab at its worst Id even go as far as to say they dislike their members and service members, I wish I could leave 0 stars!Review fromDanielle N

1 starBeen with Usaa for 14 years. Not once have I ever had an issue until I wanted to buy a new vehicle a few days ago. Not only was their no policy that I called, but it was never done to begin with. Then when I called about it, they acted like it was my fault that it wasn't there.USAA

1 starI have been a member for 14 years. I filed 2 disputes in May 2025 and they both were handled incorrectly by the DISPUTE department. They screwed with things in my account, never contacted the vendor, gave me so-called temporary credits on the wrong amounts (chose whatever amount other than the disputed amounts), placed my account in a negative balance, and just called me back today (requested multiple times to call me), did what they wanted to do with my money without consulting me first! Get this! They admitted their F-ups but still say that I owe them! One of the disputed amount of $154.05 should have been disputed with the vendor over a month ago for a full refund! It wasnt touched until I had to call in again to say what happened to the claim, July 2025! It was NOT disputed for the refund amount, instead they claimed they gave me a temporary credit for by using 2 different amounts: $128.18 and $25.18 (this amount of $25.18 was NEVER disputed)! Added those 2 together which gave the total amount of $154.05! I can not make this ISH up! My account is overdrawn by +$250.00 and I have a DD that I cannot stop @ this time. Im filing a lawsuit, CIVIL, because Im NOT going to let them get away with stealing my money. I will also stop any further Direct Deposits asap. I would close my account, but my lawyer said to leave it open for now. Im appalled by the lack of professionalism, incompetence, untrustworthy, untruthful, and down right scammers of members monetary growth! I will not lay down quietly while they scam me out of my hard earned money!USAA

1 starWorst insurance company ever! They have the worst customer service. I don't even know if they train their staff correctly. My husband called last year to get home insurance. We'll, we recently found out that, the slcustomer service representative never update our address and my husbands email. So, we never received anything from them. My mortgage company never received any letter of payment from them, so USAA canceled our insurance. We just found out. So, we went the last 6 months not having insurance. My mortgage company is the one who let us know. I called them today to get proof of insurance for 6 months, and the customer service representative hung up on me and my mortgage company. We also called last Friday the 25th to get documentation, and he never sent it to my mortgage company. We were on the phone with them for 45 minutes. **** a joke of a company. Don't waste your time, plus they are quite expensive. I feel terrible for all the military families that have to seal with them. We were with them once, and will never ever use them again. Very unprofessional company.USAA

1 starIve been with USAA for years and once believed it was the gold standard for service members and their families. Sadly, thats no longer the case.USAA charges premium rates, but when it comes time to actually honor a claim, they act like any other bad-faith carriernickel-and-diming homeowners, delaying payments, and underpaying claims. I work in the insurance industry, and Im shocked at how many USAA homeowners are contacting me for help because theyre being treated unfairly. If youre still with USAA, be carefulyou might be better off with a different insurance company that can give you real coverage at a cheaper premium. Not a skeleton policy with no coverage, but a policy where youre not overpaying for a name that no longer stands for what it used to.And if you ever have a serious home or auto claim? Hire a public insurance adjuster or an attorney. Dont expect USAAor any insurance company, for that matterto look out for you. They dont give two cents about you; they care about their bottom line.USAA

1 starWe were with USAA for 61 years. They canceled our policy due to a missed payment while we were moving and changing our banking accounts. They didn't even notify us, despite their claims to the contrary. We received no calls, emails, or letters informing us that we were now driving without auto insurance. I only discovered the cancellation when I called to add a new car to our policy and was told it had been canceled a month and a half ago. They offered to set up a new policy for a $900 deposit and $350 per ******** thanks! This is incredibly disappointing after being a loyal customer for 61 years as a veteran with **********************.USAA
