I never subscribed to this service. When I saw this charge appear I notified **** that it was not approved. I reported it for fraud and obtained a new card. A year later Scoresense makes a few charges. For the last 6 months the charges have been declined. I finally get a number for Scoresense and they cannot find any accounts, memberships or subscriptions under my name. They find two accounts related to my credit card number. One is canceled and the other is active, but it is not associated to my name and is not the same amount. They will not cancel charges going to my card even though they have not accounts under my name. I searched all my emails and I do not have any information related to Scoresense - no memberships, no accounts. Scoresense owes me for any charges approved for the last two years and must stop all attempts to charge my credit cards. This company is fraudulently taking money from me and should be closed down.

This is in answer to a response from the company dated June 9, 2025 to my original complaint.
As you will se from my supporting documents, this company was found guilty in court of defrauding thousands of customers of $22 million in 2014 through deceptive and misleading practices that unlawfully deducted unauthorized monthly bank payments. Additional supporting documents show anecdotal statements from customers about how they were tricked into providing personal info in order to see their credit report, and how this info was used by the company to sign them up for an unwanted membership that deducted hefty monthly bank charges without their knowledge.

The documents I just submitted were in response to ScoreSense's June 9, 2025 answer to my original complaint

Since I didn't know how to file my response in your system, I filed it as a new complaint, along with supporting documents

The bottom line here is that neither I nor my wife ever knowingly gave permission to charge monthly fees to our joint checking account with ***************. If they claim that they received such permission, it was through deceptive means

A look at my supporting documents will show that this company has regularly duped thousands of unsuspecting  customers who just wanted to see a single credit score into providing banking information that the company then used to begin deducting monthly so-called "membership fees" without the customers' knowledge or permission.

Since the company did NOT send monthly email updates, we were not alerted to this practice until I took a close look at our checking account in a May 2025 and discovered the unauthorized monthly deductions.

    Customer Answer

Once again Scoresense repeats the behavior they were sued for and settled on in 2014: trick unsuspecting people into providing their bank account/credit card info in order to see their credit score and having them click on a tab with misleading language that purports to sign them up for a membership

Again, the company claims that the full terms of this membership are fully explained; but again they provide NO PROOF (aside from their unsubstantiated assertion) that signing up for this so called membership involves a monthly charge of $29.95 to their bank account.

This is the same trick they played on more than ******* people that prompted the 2014 lawsuit, which forced them to return $22 million to their victims.

Their claim that my wife was informed about the checking account deductions is an unsubstantiated assertion that she was sent 39 email messages about her so called membership. The proof they provide is a chart of the messages, which could have been filled out by anybody after the fact.

They do not prove that any such messages were sent because they did not use return receipts. This is an intentional practice on their part, because a key part of their scam is to not alert their victims -- if receipts were turned on, they would have to actually send these emails.

Further, I request that BBB independently investigate my wifes hotmail account to see that no such messages were sent. I am willing to facilitate this process

Despite Scoresenses unproven assertion that they corrected their misleading practices as part of the 2014 settlement, I provided documentation in my previous answer about thousands of online complaints about these same exact practices continuing up to the present time.

I reject Scoresenses bogus explanation of the legitimacy of their behavior in the case of my wife, ******* *********, (and of myself, since we share the same checking account) and I demand a full restoration of the $2,036.00 that they stole from us.

I request that the BBB take some action to prevent Scoresense from fleecing the public

Beginning in Dec 2019, this business began deducting money from my checking account without my knowledge or permission. In fact I've never heard about this business until I discovered a monthly deduction in May 2025. Then via the bank's online system, I discovered 18 deductions dating back to December 2023 I contacted the security division of *************** to complain about fraud, and they opened a dispute process about the 18 monthly deductions dating back to December of 2023.I obtained my bank statements dating back to December 2019 and discovered an additional 44 monthly deductions dating back to December 2019, for a total of 62 deductions to the present.Yesterday (May 28, 2025) i sent a message to the company via their online message system telling them to STOP all future deductions, and to return the money they have taken from my account unless they can provide proof that I authorized the deductions

I am filing a formal complaint against ScoreSense, a service owned by One
Technologies,LLC, for deceptive advertising, unauthorized charges, and failure to honor cancellation requests. Timeline of events detailing my experience:12-27-24,I signed up for a program called Credit Secrets to improve my credit score in hopes of purchasing a home. Credit Secrets prominently promotes ScoreSense on its website and members portal, urging users to obtain their free credit scores before starting the training. Believing this was a required step, I signed up for ScoreSense’s 7-day free trial on 1-4-25. See attached false advertising. On 1-7-25,realizing ScoreSense had a $39.95 monthly fee (not clearly disclosed), I submitted a cancellation request through their website’s contact page, selecting "Cancellation" from the dropdown menu. I have attached a screenshot of this request as evidence. 1-12-25, despite my timely cancellation request, ScoreSense charged me $39.95 on 1-11-25. I immediately contacted them, attaching proof of my cancellation request. 1-14-25, ScoreSense denied my refund, falsely claiming I did not cancel within the trial period. 1-16-25, I responded, again providing proof and warning that I would escalate the matter. 1-21-25, ScoreSense finally refunded the $39.95, though their email misleadingly stated they had processed the refund on 1-11-25. On 2-12-25,ScoreSense unauthorizedly charged me another $39.95, despite confirming my membership was canceled in January. Their email required me to call or chat during business hours to cancel again-contradicting their previous cancellation confirmation. I immediately responded, stating I had never reauthorized any charges and demanded an immediate refund. They ignored my email. 2-27-25, after no response,I sent a 2nd email demanding a refund within 7-days. Again,no reply and no refund. 3-7-2025, I sent a final warning, indicating I'm reporting to the authorities. On 3-11-25, Scoresense charged me another $39.95

    Customer Answer

    Date: 04/03/2025

I am rejecting this response because:  when I originally canceled the free trial I went online to scoresense.com and clicked "CONTACT" it automatically took me to your page for your INTERNAL email.  There is a dropdown where you choose the reason for the INTERNAL email & one of the options is "CANCEL". This is obvious from the screenshot I took when I requested to cancel the free trial & NOT charge for your service. Why would you have that option available on your website to cancel & then require a customer to HAVE to call or chat in order to cancel? That right there is deceptive on your part. I've seen hundreds on complaints on the internet, including through the BBB where those that did call waisted their time on the phone with your rude CSR's pushing them into NOT canceling by offering a lower price, same issues with chat. Either process is poor training on your part & unfair to customers with busy schedules & many going through this same process I'm going through. The reason i went online in February was bc I was still in training with CreditSecrets & your false advertising page is the 1st thing that pops up b4 I can get into the CreditSecrets training website. There is a note on the Ad that states "you will  need a fresh update...."The FALSE ADVERTISEMENT which I attached in my original complaint is that no where on the advertisement page does it state the $1.07 refundable charge, it's only when you click on it and then taken to your website. This is deceptive bc then the customer has to enter their card information to get the report & that's where the customer is hooked & your charges begin! The scores were 50+ points higher than what the customer sees when going to **********, ********, & ******* websites direct. Plus the charge to access direct is cheaper than your $39.95 for 3 mo, then $49.95 on the 4th month.  Where did you come up with $80.07 credit that you gave me? I just checked with my bank & I see where OLT Scoresense credited me $39.95 and $1.07 both on March 27, 2025. You still owe me $39.95 for February 2025. Why did you charge me in Feb & Mar when you clearly canceled & confirmed in an email it was canceled? That's another reason why I went online in Feb to see if it was canceled. That is 100% deceptive on your part! You continue your deceptive practices to 100's of innocent people on a daily basis. I am not comfortable with any of your 46 websites you own having my SSN or ANY of my PII. I see you reported 26 websites to the BBB. I discovered all your other entities courtesy of the ******** ********* ******* website: ********  if you should need proof of all my findings, please let me know.  This is all eating up too much of my time like many others bc you keep breaking the law.

I have written, and made several phone calls to this company to have them cancel the subscription. They won't and will not listen. I finally noticed in December of 2024 that they were taking almost $50 out of my account so I called them and emailed them in December of 2024 to cancel the subscription. In January 2025 they took the payment out again. Once again I called several times and emailed them to cancel the subscription. February 2025 they did it again!! Why won't they listen?? Please someone help! This company is out of control! Why are they doing what they want to do and not listening to the consumers? I want a refund. Prices are way to high. You can check your credit $20 cheaper at other places.

Apparently in 2017 my daughter paid $1.07 to see a credit score and inadvertently signed up for a 'membership' that started 7 days after. In all these 91 months that they charged my credit card, they never sent her a statement, a bill, anything to show they were charging her, so she had no idea.

I have reviewed the business response and accept this resolution but I still feel the general way this business operates should be criminal. I believe any reoccurring charge to a credit card should be acknowledged by an email at least once a month. This of course is SUPER EASY to do, it would be automatic and the ONLY reason for not doing it is to try and take money from someone who might have inadvertently signed up for a reoccurring charge. ***** on any business that relies on this model for profits.

A company named ********** was charging me a subscription amount for credit monitoring since August 2022. The problem is that this account was never created by me nor have I ever signed up for their subscription and potentially forgotten to cancel it. The account was created with my father's name and social security number but with my email address and credit card information. However neither of us has each other's information or were even living together at the time. I did not create this account for my father. I had never received an email communication from them until January 2025 and these monthly charges went unfortunately unnoticed by me because they were for between ***** dollars and blended in with everything else. It is my fault that I did notice sooner but I never created this account or consented to this subscription. I contacted them for a full refund for services never consented to and/or used and they told me they have created a corporate investigation to assist me. However, this seems like a major scam and unlawful in many ways.

In answering an ad about an apartment rental I was directed to the website ************** to provide a credit score for whoever was posing as a landlord on the ad I had responded to. I created a membership for $1.07 for a 7 day trial in an effort to provide the landlord with my credit scores. On providing the scores from all three main credit reporting agencies, however based on their comments and subsequently being directed to yet another site to do so again it became clear that I was not actually dealing with a true landlord but instead with some sort of marketing fraud designed to get me to sign up for a bunch of these types of agencies. so I immediately went back to the website and canceled my membership on the same day it was initiated 12/20/2024 and havent been back to the site since until today 1.14.2025 when I noticed that instead of canceling my membership they instead charged me $29+ for an additional month of service. I did find a email confirming my cancelation but it wasnt processed until 1/4/2025 after the 7 day trial period so it seems they simply delayed my cancelation until they were able to collect an additional $29.95. I contacted them today and they said they would send my request to the billing department but couldnt say if I would actually receive a refund. I informed them that it was through fraudulent reasons that I signed up in the first place and had immediately canceled the service upon that discovery the very same day and have not been to the site since that time. I would like your help in recovering my funds as I feel I was lead to sign up under fraudulent pretenses to begin with and a 14 day delay in cancelation is simply unreasonable.
