While trying to adjust the monthly payment of my vehicle through the app that Toyota said I had to use, it won't allow me to make an adjustment. After following all trouble shooting prompts it led me to a website that is extremely difficult and criminally misleading. It all but forces you to make minimum payments as to ensure the company gets more profits. Horrible and misleading tactics.

The ***************** of Toyota Financial Services (***) is in receipt of the complaint filed against Toyota Motor Credit Corporation (****) and *** regarding our customers dissatisfaction with making payments utilizing the *** mobile app and website.

Both the *** mobile app and website are 100% customer-driven, and *** is unable to schedule payments using those methods on the customers behalf.

After a thorough review of the account, our customer successfully initiated a recurring payment schedule as of August 8, 2023, for payments to draft in the amount of $700.00 on the 17th of each month. The contracted payment amount our customer agreed to is $570.09, due on the 7th of each month. As of the date of this response, the account is paid through February 7, ****, for a lesser amount than the scheduled payment amount.

Additionally, the *** IT support group also reviewed the account and did not find any blocks for the customer to make payments through the mobile app. If the issue persists, we suggest that our customer use the latest version of the *** mobile app, if they are not already.

Lastly, if our customer is attempting to make a principal-only payment, although the *** website does not offer an automatic or recurring principal payment option, our website does offer the option to make a one-time principal payment. It is our suggestion that *********************** schedule their automatic or recurring payment as a one-time principal payment in the amount they desire, and as often as they wish, via the *** website.

We have attached a principal and interest brochure for their review to this response.

TFS is not a debt collector as defined under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). As a result, we are not legally required to provide specific documents other than Takevik Poghosyans contract, which we have enclosed for their records. We have confirmed there have not been any acts of fraudulent behavior or violations committed by TFS with respect to their contract.

The contract was signed by ********************************* on May 17, 2022. The contract obligates them to pay 72 payments of $961.3. Pursuant to the terms to which they agreed, their failure to continue to remit payment and keep their account in current status may result in further collection activity or legal action.

Our records do not reflect that their contract balance has been paid in full; furthermore, we are required by Federal Law and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) to report all information accurately to the *************************** (CRAs) based on Tatevik Poghosyans payment history.

Following receipt of Tatevik Poghosyans complaint, our **************** initiated an investigation into the claim that their account was fraudulently opened. 9/20/23 a letter was sent stating a refund for gap coverage of ****** was owed to me. i waited over two weeks for this then on 10/17/23 i contacted the company who stated the check was returned to them and they would send out a new check after i confirmed the address and explained again i had a last name change and sent in documents prior when i had the 2018 ***** malibu which was turned in and paid off with a new vehicle in august 2023 and they'd see the new last name of "*****" when ***** paid off the balance. they played dumb about this.then on 10/31/23 i contacted them again stating i didn't receive it again in which i was told the check was cashed at **** of america. a **** in which i don't use and that it seems it was fraudently cashed. the company filed a report stating i didn't cash it and would be sending me a form to fill out declaring i didn't cash it. they said theyd send this form and i'd receive it within a week and i still haven't received it. i believe the company is full of s*** and trying to give me out what is owed. they wouldn't give me details on how the check was cashed even despite saying they can trace it. so if they were able to do this then theyd already know it wasn't me and it was fraudently committed by someone else

I have a leased vehicle through Toyota Financial Services. In order for me Not to pay property taxes on my vehicle I was instructed by Toyota Financial Services to file Lessee's Affidavit (form ******) with my local central appraisal district. They are refusing to reimburse me. This has been going on for almost two years. If I have to wait until **** I will have to file another lessees Affidavit and go through this again...

Toyota Financial received funds from Allstate on October 20, 2023 to pay off my car in the amount of $15,488.70 for my 2021, Toyota, Corolla for the collision on August 26, 2023, VIEN #MJ063905, Acct. #***********. Toyota demanded that Allstate send Toyota financial department the $9,047.30 that was reimbursement to me for my car replacement payment. Allstate sent the $9,047.30 that Toyota demand to their office. Toyota cashed the check on October 16, 2023, but Toyota Financial ************** inform me they could not find the check for $9047.30. On October 27, 2023, I continuously called Toyota office and I was informed it would take 24 to 48 hours after the check was cashed. Allstate sent proof of the check being cashed on October 24, 2023. Then I was informed that Toyota would require another **** days to process the check even though the check had been cashed and deposited and after the 10 days of processing it would take an additional **** days before the check could be mailed to me. Toyota should have never received the check but Toyota Blackmailed and refused to release my car title to Allstate until Toyota received my portion of the settlement and then Toyota would reissue the $9047.30 back to me and release the title to Allstate. I then requested on numerous phone calls to speak with upper management and the Resolution Team. Toyota refused to allow me to speak to the Resolution Team over financial or a supervisor and it would be another 24 to 48 hours . Toyota has no rights to keep my portion of my settlement for my car. In fact, they had been paid and refused to forward the title onto Allstate. In the meantime, I am without a car and I have to pay taxi cab fares. Toyota is collecting interest on my funds that are deposited in their account while I have to wait 10 days for processing and 10 days for mailing, and they have deposit the check for 11 days. That is a total of 31 day minimum that I am without a car and Toyota is making a profit off me

The ***************** of Toyota Financial Services (TFS) is in receipt of the complaint filed against Toyota Motor Credit Corporation (****) and TFS by ********************* regarding the refund of any overpayment of funds from the Total Loss of their vehicle.

Our records match those of our customer in some regards. TFS did receive the insurance check on October 24th, 2023. The check, however, was not misplaced. Processing time is required in order to apply funds. The funds were applied on October 30th, 2023. It is typical for additional processingto remove any additional interest and back date the payment to the date of lossto take approximately five to seven business days. Once the funds are properly applied to the account to fully close the account any overpayment refunds will be sent to our customer at their system address. We concur that this can take an additional seven to ten business days as indicated in our customers complaint.

TFS has reviewed the account and found no evidence of fraud or wrongdoing on the part of TFS to substantiate our customers claim of blackmail or refusal to release the title to Allstate. The processes that were followed were appropriate and in line with those which are applied to all customers in this unfortunate situation.

TFS will not retain any funds that have been received beyond those required to close the account. Any overpayment is always refunded to the customer as will be the case in this instance.

We realize this may not be the response you desired, but we hope our above reply has resolved this matter amicably.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 11/02/2023

I am rejecting this response because:   Toyota stamped deposited the check on October 16, 2023.  Toyota has been withholding payment to me for the past 2 weeks and leaving me without transportation and funds for transportation.  The checks was deposited on October 16 so why have not Toyota released my payment.  This is an additional 17 days and the check has not been released.  This is unfair to me the customer since the car was a total loss as of August 26, 2023.  The checks should be Express Mail to my PO Box ***** immediately.

Vehicle:                                 2021 Toyota ************************************ of Toyota Financial Services (TFS) is in receipt of your follow up correspondence regarding the expected refund of a surplus check for **********************

Our position remains the same; however, as of the writing of this letter the funds have been applied. It is inside of our normal timeframe for a check to take up to thirty days from the time it arrives to be processed as checks are processed in the order they are received. We understand that this is not an ideal situation, and our customer is working to resolve a stressful situation. The loss of the vehicle; however, was not caused by TFS and we must be permitted the appropriate amount of time to complete the request properly. While our customer may disagree with the timeframe, there is not more that can be done to expedite the release of their funds.

We confirm that there is a surplus of $9,107.00 which will be refunded inside of the previously provided timeframe.

We realize this may not be the response you desired, but we hope our above reply has resolved this matter amicably.

I was sold an extended warranty for a car and told I could cancel. This was after I was told Toyota will not accept outside financing and I was forced to finance through them. With a plan to refinance I contacted the warranty company to cancel the extended warranty through Toyota. A refund check for the warranty was mailed to Toyota financial on 10/05/23. To this date I still have not received my refund to my account. I contacted a Toyota financial and they could not provide a resolution and refused to escalate the process to confirm the check was received. The employee I spoke with said it was perfect that I was filing a complaint with the BBB and did not seem to care about my issue with the company.
