I had this company back September of 2021 install a new wood fireplace and chimney pipe. He removed the old system and installed the new one. When he was all done I noticed that there was no screen on the cap like we had on our old setup. He told me at that time it didn't come with one. We had him come back in 2022 for chimney sweep and he boke one the the baffles and he said he would replace it but never did come back to do it. ** did call him on it and he said that the company at time was having trouble getting parts. So we didn't hear anything back. In the meantime we started having issues with birds getting into the chimney and they would end up in the fireplace. I questioned him again and told him we needed to do something about it. He said he could changed out the cap with some type of spark arrestor. he sent me some pictures but the cap looked duller that one I had. Then he said he could put some type of screen and still use my same cap. I then questioned him on this because said that this cap had no screen. He then said that he doesn't like to put them on because most people don't have the chimneys swept every year. I told him that was wrong to do that deliberately. He then said he would put one in and fix the baffle for no charge. I said okay so you will correct the problem he said yes but he would have to charge me $350.00 trip charge to make sure the warranty was still good. I was then upset because he left something that should have been done in the first place and now wants to charge a extra fee. i was willing to pay him something even though I shouldn't have to but its ridiculous the charge he wants. He was also very arrogant to my wife when she also questioned him about the birds getting in there. He has not responded since we texted back and forth and I have copies of the texts.
