I’ve used them quite a bit. I also go directly to cruise lines but have been satisfied with the service at vacations to go. My agent is knowledgeable. I have also done my own at the cruise line website. All in all probably go to VTG more than other choices.

I am giving a 1 star only because there is nothing lower. I encountered a bait and switch with vacations to go. I have on emails the quote, a confirmation to hold the suite only to have nothing done. I contacted management at the agency and was just given a denial of what I was told and the audacity to try and sell me a cabin on another cruise. I have read many bad reviews and should have not tried to business with this dishonest agency anyway. I urge you to not do business with agency

Thank you for writing, Mr. ****. We apologize for any negative impression you may have gained from the interaction you had with your agent, or for any misunderstanding that took place concerning whether a cabin was being held for you and your travel partner. The cruise line has confirmed that one of the cabin categories you discussed with him has sold out at this time. We see that you've spoken to a few of our managers concerning this issue and have since booked with another Vacations To Go travel counselor. We appreciate the opportunity to regain your trust and business, and hope that you have a fantastic cruise experience once onboard.

Tried for 3 years to get a refund for a cruise that was set to sail right when COVID hit. Vacations To Go passed me around to different people, none of whom followed up. I called the cruise line myself today. They said they prefer to deal with the travel agency but they’d help me directly because they’ve had many complaints about Vacations To Go. Took them all of 5 minutes to issue the refund.

    Dear Sarah,

We're truly sorry that your cruise was one of thousands impacted by COVID. We can certainly understand how disappointing it was to have a much-anticipated vacation cancelled, then compacted by the frustration of a delayed refund.

We apologize if you felt dismissed or like we were not diligent about tracing the status of your refund. When you contacted us in May 2022, our manager submitted a request to Royal Caribbean's accounting department, which indicated that the refund had been issued on May 17, 2022. We assumed this was accurate information until we heard from you again earlier this month indicating that no refund was seen on your May statement.

As of last week, our manager was waiting to receive your June and July credit card statements, as Royal Caribbean said refunds could take up to 90 days to appear on your statement. We apologize again if you feel we were not here to advocate on your behalf, and are glad that Royal Caribbean was able to assist you with finding or processing the refund.

We do hope that when you're ready to travel again, you'll consider giving Vacations To Go the opportunity to regain your trust. We wish you all the best and hope to be of service in the future!

All about the Sale before the Service. I took the insurance Vacations to Go was selling because it had to be better than the cruise line’s captive insurance, and I knew I needed insurance, because it was going to be my first cruise since Covid. I was fully vaccinated and "bivalented" and senior flu vaxxed, and I'd been exposed a few times and never got it. There were few masks and close quarters on my first cruise in years, and, by the fifth day of my 15-day cruise, I had the version of Covid that makes you utterly weak, constantly exhausted, and struggling for oxygen while feeling you are breathing. I was confined to an interior cabin, started on Paxlovid, and told the soonest I could leave my cabin would be six days later. I contacted my travel agent because I could not decipher the insurance policy they sold me, and I was very very sick. I asked them to get me off the ship so I could recover at home, or, at least, not serve more solitary confinement than a prisoner at San Quentin! The travel agent ignored me for a day and then gave me links to the insurance and thereafter ghosted me. That's my last time with Vacations to Go!

They never rescued me. They never intervened with Generali to provide service. They got their commission, and all they did from then on was write emails telling me they were “escalating.” They even had the nerve to send me an email denying that I’d ever contacted them, though they somehow withdrew that email. I may have gotten a discount of $75 cheaper than buying the cruise directly from the cruise line, but the only place I could use the $75 on-board credit was to pay for the $800 Paxlovid or the antibiotics and medical care costing another $450. After I got home, they worked with their insurance agency, Generali, to set up a series of barriers, so I had to assign the case to a paralegal in my office to jump the hoops. Stay away from these salesmen.

Thank you for writing to share your experience, Mr. *********. We are sorry to hear that you contracted COVID during your cruise. We can certainly understand what a scary and disappointing time that must have been for you.
We regret that we were unable to assist you with disembarking early and getting out of quarantine. We are required to follow the guidelines and COVID protocols set by the cruise line and the CDC, and once onboard the ship, these matters are handled at the cruise line's discretion.
We do apologize that your agent was not able to respond in a more timely manner, but thankful that he was able to provide you with your policy number and Generali Insurance's emergency contact information. Four days after the completion of your cruise, Generali confirmed that they had not received your claim or any correspondence from you.
We can see that one of our managers has been in touch with you and your office assistant concerning the matter, and has again provided the information necessary to file a claim with and contact Generali. Please understand that only Generali can reimburse you for the expenses you incurred during your trip, and filing a claim directly with them is required in order to start the process to do so.
We're sorry again that you fell ill during your cruise and consequently missed so much that you were looking forward to. We do hope that you've recovered fully, and that once the claim is filed, Generali is able to reimburse you quickly for all you've been through.

I have used Vacations to Go (V2G) on previous occasions and have often strongly advocated for people to use them. My most recent experience gives me pause. We booked a Cruise from Sydney Australia to New Zealand for Jan 2023. My complaint is that we booked excursions using an email link from V2G. The email print did say excursions were via a Third Party, so when we went to the link, V2G logo was boldly there. (Deception #1) True, I should/could have noted the url did not specify V2G

On top of the Ticket we received for the excursion was the Vacations to Go Logo with no mention it was a Third Party. (Deception #2) No information about that Third Party was on the ticket.

I wrote to NK, the agent, who flatly said V2G had no responsibility for the excursion and I should contact the Third Party -- which I did not know who it was. He said he would contact the Third Party about a refund - but neglected to tell us the outcome of his contact. After follow-up emails, he said he had contacted the Third Party who would be refunding our money.

V2G is using deceptive trade practices by (1) giving a link to a Third Party and then using their Logo on companies for which they claim no responsibility (Deception 2) (Third Party). The Ticket should list Third Party as the owner -- the banner suggests, V2G is responsible. (Deception 3).

If V2G wants to contact me, they can identify me via the information in this email that is in their system. I have tried to find a supervisor - but none are listed. Another problem - but probably not a deception, just avoidance.

Thank you for writing, Mr. *****. We're very sorry if you felt we've been deceptive in any way. It is never our intention to mislead our customers because we understand that is not how a business retains loyal, repeat and referral business.
We do our best to clearly differentiate between your excursion options. On your cruise confirmation, received within 24 hours of booking, we provide two links for shore excursions. One reads "Save up to 40% on shore excursions when you book through Vacations To Go’s preferred third-party shore excursion partner" and the other reads "Royal Caribbean offers advance reservations for spa treatments, specialty dining, shore excursions, onboard entertainment and more." Both links are followed by "To book or browse, click here." You are correct in stating that our logo is displayed at the top of the Shore Excursion Group website, as they have designed this page just for Vacations To Go customers, and takes you directly to a page of excursions for your sailing only.
When you contacted your agent from the ship to express your concern about arriving to the port late, he provided you with detailed instructions, next steps, a local phone number for the tour company, and made Shore Excursion Group aware of your delayed arrival.
Once he was aware that the ship skipped the port in question, he contacted Shore Excursion Group the next business day to start the refund process. We do apologize that he did not follow up with an email to share the refund amount and expected time frame.
Any time you would like to speak to a supervisor, we have several ways you can do so. A link to request contact by a manager is provided in the signature of each email from your agent. You may also dial 0, or follow the prompt to reach a manager in your agent's voicemail greeting. Lastly, you can always reach us through the "Contact Us" page on our site or by emailing [email protected].
We're truly sorry that this experience damaged your perception of and relationship with Vacations To Go. We hope that despite your altered itinerary and missed excursions, you were able to enjoy the remainder of your trip. We hope to be of service again in the future, and wish you all the best.

We will never use vacations to go ever again. Vacations to go and our rep only have their best interest in mind and getting your revenue. we were not told and there is nothing on their website about travel advisories from local government regarding safety and crime including at all inclusive resorts in Jamaica. Our flight was changed by Delta airlines and Stetson wanted $700 plus dollars to change the flight, I called Delta my self and got it changed for the cost of the tax less than $40.00 for a direct flight. There was less than 50 minutes to change flights in Atlanta would have been difficult to make our connecting flight. I emailed and called our rep about the flight change and received no reply which became a problem with hotel transfers in Jamaica. I would think that a rep with 13 years experience would know that and return emails and calls. It takes a lifetime to keep customers and one bad experience to lose one forever. very poor service

Thanks for taking the time to leave your impressions of Vacations To Go, Mr. ******. We're truly sorry that Delta changed your flights to a less desirable schedule. When this occurs, we are required to work with the travel supplier we used to book your airfare to make adjustments. The quoted fee to change your flights came from ******, not Vacations To Go or *******, and was based off the type of air originally purchased. We apologize that a more acceptable flight schedule was not available without additional fees and are glad that Delta was willing to work with you directly to change your flight, as that is not always the case. We're truly sorry to hear that this one instance was disappointing enough to end a long and loyal business relationship, and hope that despite your frustrations, you still had a wonderful time in Jamaica. We wish you all the best in your future travels, and hope to have the opportunity to regain your business and trust in the future.

Recently booked a cruise and was lied to, given misinformation and the representative, Rome Olivo, was hardly sympathetic to our situation, which was a direct result of his actions. We have cruised on many occasions and are savvy to the operations of the travel industry.

DO NOT USE this COMPANY for any of your travel needs, especially a cruise.

    Vacations To Go

    Date: 02/03/2023

Thank you for sharing your perspective, Barney. We apologize if you feel that Rome was dishonest in how he presented the stateroom and insurance options to your travel companion when she called.

When booking a guarantee cabin, the cruise line chooses the cabin for you, and Vacations To Go has no influence over the process in any way. Though Rome discussed the chance of an obstructed view with her, she felt it was worth the savings to move forward, hoping Royal Caribbean would take your past passenger status into consideration. We're sorry the cabin you were later assigned did not meet your expectations. I can see that you've since spoken to a manager and upgraded to a stateroom you're both happy with.

For the protection of our customers, we will always encourage the purchase of insurance. We offer policies through the cruise line and through a company we know and trust, Generali. All Generali policies come with a 10-day free look, allowing you to cancel the policy during that timeframe if it does not meet your expectations. All policies vary, and the details of both can be viewed before purchase here: https://www.vacationstogo.com/cruise_insurance.cfm.

We regret that your experience has left you with a negative impression of Vacations To Go. We hope that despite your initial concerns, you both have a wonderful cruise, and that we'll have the opportunity to regain your trust in the future.

I read most of the reviews prior to booking with vacations to go. We are planning a world cruise and comparing prices. I researched VTG with a high end travel agent friend that said this company books the most cruises . Having cruised alot in past I can tell you the problems that most of what I have read is what I also went through during covid and pre covid
BOOKING DIRECTLY through the CRUISE LINE . we had excursions canceled at last minute had cruises canceled and we had cruises that didn't stop at half our locations when able to cruise. I can say also countries change their policies instantly. We had 2 countries that canceled while we were enroute 1 country allowed us to stop if we were Vax and TESTED prior to disembark. NOT THE TRAVEL AGENCYS FAULT. We never got compensated. I can tell you I spoke with several captains post covid and the horror stories of what they, their people went through was massive and unprecedented. I had to deal once with the insurance company over a cancellation that I had booked with the cruise line READ THE FINE PRINT. Once you have an emergency its not just a drs note you have. I backed mine up with my hospital records xrays, 2 different specialty drs orders then plus You ARE not dealing with the cruise line or travel agent you are dealing with the insurance company. A Girls cruise was canceled (covid) and I got all her money and took forever to get that. It was a error. What I am saying is I took my cruise apples to apples and saved over $10m going with a travel agency that books alot of cruises, adding all the amenities and room upgrade. Service that I have recieved so far I will book with Vacations To Go from now on. I have had all the problems that can occur explained to me in which is something we already know. I believe people don't give good reviews as much as they are willing to tell of their problems that occur. If your thinking of booking with VTG I give it a thumbs up. Thank you Jonas for being upfront & honest

    Vacations To Go

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a detailed and honest account of the state of the travel industry during and after COVID, and for sharing your experience with Jonas and Vacations To Go. It's been a devastating and unprecedented couple of years for the travel industry and while it's bouncing back quickly and stronger than it was before, it has come with some adjustments and growing pains as policies and procedures continue to change and evolve.

We're thankful for your very positive and encouraging words. As you stated, customers statistically are more likely to share a negative experience than a positive one. We welcome all feedback, as it allows us to grow and improve our services, but it's always rewarding to hear about all the wonderful experiences our customers have had.

If we can be of service now or in the future, please don't hesitate to let Jonas or us know. We appreciate your business and look forward to helping you plan many more wonderful adventures!
