Buyer beware: This company engages in fraud and extortion.
I utilized their services for years because my apartment suggested them. After not renewing my contract, they claimed my electricity usage spiked despite my moving out of the apartment, turning everything off including the AC & heat. This resulted in my bill being hundreds of dollars higher than it was the same month of the previous year. I reported a faulty meter or something and they never offered an explanation for how using less electricity gives a higher meter reading.
I ultimately gave up and decided it was worth a few hundred bucks to be done with these crooks.
The company then sent me a renewal offer which I promptly discarded as I had timed my lease expiration to concise with my contract expiration. Buried in small text at the bottom of the email was a note that unless I explicitly called and cancelled, they would extend my contract indefinitely on a variable rate.
Immediately after being sent yet another extraordinarily high bill for usage the month AFTER my contract expired, I called and asked for an explanation. After multiple phone calls, I got no explanation.
They then sent me to a collection agency for the last bill who said if I disputed the charge my credit score would drop 50 points and I’d have to get lawyers involved. Only after this was Energy To Go able to point to the fine print that said my contract could be extended indefinitely and without my consent.
      Scummy company. Stay away.
