On 3/28/2024 I paid off a $200.00 balance to Procollect (debt collector) and Im having trouble getting anyone to assist me with obtaining a reciept/pay off letter. When i call the office number/Main line for Procollect they tell me "sorry only a manager can access your account" and they tell me to email the Manager then when I email the Manager they tell me to call the main line so back and forth, around in circles, the manager now ignores me even though his staff tell me they cant assist that only he can see my account , hes ignored me the last 3 emails when I told him what his staff said and i havent been able to obtain a receipt/pay off letter from anyone and i noticed a chat box on their website so i asked how long does a reciept take and they said ***** hours as you can see so its been longer then that, all i need is this pay off letter.

Good Afternoon **********,I am not sure if you have been reading my paperwork and emails, but I have said so many times that this lease contract has never been consummated. We never accepted a key or a room and unit number, never showed up to this apartment complex and never had utility bills. Last Aug.12,2021, my daughter ****** mistakenly signed a lease agreement with Avalon ********** Apartment, thinking that this is ********** ********** where she is going to college. This was an honest mistake, and she called the next day to tell the Manager to cancel the signed contract. The Manager promised her that he will call his corporate office and have this contract VOIDED. She has been calling repeatedly to follow-up this cancellation, and attached is an email to prove that. We are taking all legal steps to dispute this collection.Thank you,Indika ************

Pro Collect claims to have bought debt from the apartment complex ******* at Midtown, though the apartment complex tells me they have no record of me owing anything. REF: ProCollect Account # ***************** FOR: Apartment rental through MAXUS / **************************, ********** **.DATE: January 29th 2024 date of last communication and request for documentation showing validity of collection. I have disputed this collection activity in writing directly with ProCollect and their client Maxus numerous times and have yet to receive documentation showing validity of collections they are seeking. The only Documents they provided is / was a letter from their client (*****) referencing a statement of charges. This letter and statement of charges is inaccurate and has numerous errors. I have requested back up documents showing validity of these charges. MAXUS / ProCollect have NOT provided any of the disputed items showing validity of the charges. They only additional item that ProCollect / Maxus has produced was a Rental Application that I signed when applying for rental accommodations. This application does NOT show anything other than I had once applied for rental accommodations. As a matter of fact, The $2,025.38 (of the $2,398.15) they are seeking is substantially greater, not contractually supported or allowable in the Lease Contract that governs this type of charge, even IF they had a valid claim to it.On January 29th 2024 I spoke to a ********** at ProCollect. During that conversation ********** stated that my account is noted in a disputed status in ProCollects system. Notating and reporting an account is in disputed status and actually providing documents or information to the disputed collection are very different things, when all the while this collection activity appears on my credit report. On the January 29th 2024 phone call, ********** said that he would be replying to my dispute in writing within 30 days. I have yet as of the date of this submission received correspondence back from ********** and or ProCollect. A rental application in NO way shape or form shows or constitutes validity of the charges they are seeking, and the Statement of Charges is factually incorrect and not supported by the executed Lease Contract with their client. I am requesting that this collection activity is halted and removed from my credit report to the credit reporting agencies.

I am writing to file a formal complaint against a debt collection agency, ProCollect, concerning their handling of an alleged debt and the negative impact on my credit score and mental health. This matter pertains to an incident that began in late January and continued into February of this year.Unreceived Debt Notifications: The creditor, an ******* apartment complex, reportedly sent debt notices to an address where I never lived, leaving me uninformed.Automated Calls Without Clarification: In late January to early February, I began receiving automated calls from ProCollect ***************), urging me to contact them. Upon returning the call, I encountered an automated voice loop that provided no information about the reason for the call. Efforts to obtain clarity only led to prolonged waits and no resolution, raising concerns of a potential scam.Collection Notice on Credit Report: By February 3rd, without any prior validation or proper communication from ProCollect, a collection notice was added to my Experian credit report. This action has significantly harmed my credit score, affecting my eligibility for a student loan and my plans for graduate school.Poor **************** and Communication: My attempts to resolve this issue with ProCollect, including discussions with their collection manager, **********, were met with rudeness and a lack of cooperation. Requests for payment settlements, or a goodwill arrangement were curtly denied, reflecting a broader pattern of unhelpful and threatening customer service practices within the agency.Payment Under Duress: Despite my belief that the alleged debt was not fair, I opted to pay the account in full on February 18th, solely to cease interactions with ProCollect.I am seeking a thorough investigation into the practices of ProCollect, specifically regarding their debt notification processes and customer service conduct. I request assistance in removing the unjust collection notice from my credit report.

I am rejecting this response because:

I am requesting a removal of the collection from my 3 bureau credit report, because ProCollect caused the delay in my payment which eventually led to it being reported to the credit bureaus. You mentioned the account initially reached you on 12/23, but when I attempted to call ProCollect to figure out what it's for, I was put on long holds and no verification of the debt, no customer service person to let me know what the call was for. I finally received an email with the debt information in earth February but that didn't nearly leave me enough time to respond before it's reported to Experian, TransUnion and Equifax. If your business could of provided these information earlier, I could of made payment plans to avoid it being reported on my credit history altogether. In addition, the terrible attitude and condescending tone of your "customer service" people is unacceptable. This is a terrible interaction with your business over all.
