5 starsOwnell reduced my taxes by only $682.00 and cost me $158.00 in fees. At least I didnt have to deal with filing this year. They did what they said they would do.

5 starsI'm so please with my experience with Ownwell. The sign-up process was simple, and they saved me $672 on my next homeowners tax bill. I'll happily pay 25% of that as payment for all of Ownwell's effort. I had used a competitor of theirs twice a few years ago. The competitor never reduced my bill and charged me anyway. Not so with Ownwell!Ownwell

1 starThe folks are scammers. They did get a reduction for me, but far less than my neighbor, who has the exact same model condo, on the exact same floor, in the exact same building. My neighbor received a valuation of $ 440K, mine was $ 451K. For this, I had to pay them a fee. When I asked for reconsideration they said " That case was settled informally with the appraiser, so we do not have details on what evidence or information was used to determine that value." Really? Avoid these scammers or you'll have regrets.Ownwell

We are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with the results of your protest. What we have found is that many times a property appears to be identical, but there are small variations that will cause the result of the protest to be different. If a protest was settled informally, then we would not be able to see if there were other factors, such as deferred maintenance or damage, that were used in the protest, which earned a reduction, as there is no public record of the protest.Review fromNancy B

5 starsThey did what I couldn't, got my property tax reduced even though I justified the same with plenty of data when i tried myself. The system in ***** is somewhat corrupt. It is not only data driven, but it is influence driven. ****** and companies like them must take the County officials to lunch occasionally ??Ownwell

1 starI used Ownwell in 2024 to appeal my property tax assessment. While they successfully reduced the value and charged a fee based on estimated savings, they failed to inform me that I needed to take further steps after the appeal including notifying my mortgage company about the updated tax bill.Because I escrow my property taxes, my servicer paid the original (higher) amount before the revised bill was issued. That left a small unpaid balance that eventually became a tax lien and was sold to a collections agency all without my knowledge.When I contacted Ownwell, they admitted they didnt have clear instructions in place for this situation at the time of my appeal, though they claim that information has since been added to their website. Unfortunately, that left me exposed to avoidable financial risk and legal consequences.Ownwells process creates the impression that they handle everything. At no point was I warned that I was still responsible for confirming final payment or coordinating with my servicer. This is a major gap in homeowner support, especially for clients who use ********* leaving this review so that future customers know: winning the appeal isnt the end of the process. You must personally follow up with your mortgage company and verify the revised bill is paid or risk a lien. This should not be left up to guesswork.I hope Ownwell continues to improve post-appeal education and homeowner alerts, so no one else finds themselves in the same situation.Ownwell

Hi ***** - We always strive to ensure that our customers are aware that their taxes must be paid in full and on time. If taxes are unpaid, it could affect the outcome of our appeal. With the way tax bills work in *******, the result of an appeal generally leads to a final tax bill being issued. While we have improved and continue to improve our communication with customers regarding this matter, we have no control over when the county issues the final tax bill, nor when the mortgage company pays it.I believe you have already been working with one of our Care representatives on this and she was waiting for you to send her more information so she could look into it further for you; please don't hesitate to reach back out if you still need our assistance.Review fromArnob S

1 starI have filed a protests regarding two of my properties with Ownwell. They confirmed that they had lost the protest and would not charge me for the service. However, they have subsequently reduced the prices of my internet services and billed me $368 for a provider that I no longer use.I have provided proof of my current internet service providers to Ownwell, but they continue to request the payment for the service that I no longer use. I have attempted to contact them on several occasions, but my calls have either gone unanswered or been dropped. Despite these efforts, the unpaid balance remains on my account.I believe that Ownwell is a fraudulent company. They are using my personal information to charge me for a service that I did not sign for.Ownwell

Our bill reduction service is offered for customers who upload bills through their property portal at **************************, requesting that we attempt to reduce the bill. We only invoice if we are successful in earning a reduction in your bill; however, if you cancel the service and provide proof that the service has been canceled, we will void our invoice. After checking your account and history with us I see that we did void your invoice and canceled any future bill reduction requests on your account.
