- Additional Info:Businesses that use music in public places such as restaurants, nightclubs, discos, retail stores, health clubs, amusement parks and many other establishments may be contacted by BMI as an attempt to properly license the business for music performance per US Copyright Law (Title 17, United States Code, Sec. 101 et seq). Should a user refuse to enter into a BMI music performance agreement but continues to publicly perform BMI-licensed music without permission, BMI will enforce the public performance right through a lawsuit for copyright infringement.
