Terrible Experience: If I could give a ZERO rating, I would. Absolutely, horrible customer service. There have been three incidents concerning my storage unit. Several water events and damage. After the last event, customer service representative was useless. They offered no help to address the situation and took no responsibility for the damage. They told me to just clean it up and file the insurance claim.
When I initially rented an indoor unit from Total Storage, the conditions and customer service were good. I liked the ability to drive my vehicle into the building and the temperature and humidity control. They had someone on site to help with any incidents. Then it was sold to Go Store It. This is a big corporate company from out of state. Then everything started going downhill. The rates started going up every six months. Now I am paying over $*** a month. Since I was on auto pay, I did not pay much attention to the rate hikes.
They have no on-site staff to communicate issues and provide over site of the facility. Reaching a customer service representative by phone is nearly impossible. I had to go to the old office area and use their virtual computer manager. They use a call center located overseas, could barely understand him. This is completely unacceptable.
The roll-up door and back gate have remained broken for several months, both still have not been fixed. Also, a previous burst pipe damaged several units, including mine. The combination of the burst pipe and the ongoing high humidity and temperature led to mold growth on items within the units. Based on the lack of timely maintenance, compromised security due to open rollup gates, management's inability to rectify recurring issues, and poor communication, I absolutely cannot recommend Go Store It (Hixson).
The latest event and the continuing maintenance issues were the last straw. I am cancelling my storage agreement and moving my stored items to another facility.
