We were renting a unit for over a year with this place. We signed the contract in person when we obtained the unit and were told the rent would never go above $145 a month. The lady we signed with wrote this on the contract as well. We were paying for a climate controlled unit as well. Well the large bay door got broken back in October/November and they did not fix it until March of this year. We tried contacting them several times about this because we were paying for climate control and the unit was getting below freezing over winter. They finally got back to us after the door was fixed and offered a measly $50 credit for the inconvenience. The cost difference for months between a climate controlled and not climate controlled is a lot more than $50. But we accepted their offer just to be done trying to deal with them. Then I got an email saying our rent was going up to $185 a month, so I emailed asking for our original contract showing where she wrote our max price on it. They came back and said they don't have a contract from us and actually needed us to sign a new one. I did not pay my bill that month because I was waiting on a response from them. Then I got an email about our bill in the form of a lien notice before they would respond to me so I paid it just so our stuff wouldn't get taken. But the bill had no information on it, it was just a total. I had asked them multiple times for a bill breakdown and they didnt respond with it until after I paid. Found out there was a late fee on it and I asked it to be removed because I was waiting on their response for a bill breakdown before paying and they wouldn't send one. So I paid a late fee that I didnt even know was there. They said they would refund me the late fee. A few days went by and they again stopped responding and then came back and said they wouldn't refund the late fee after all. So we started moving our stuff out of the unit and they prematurely canceled our lease without us telling them.
