I entered into a verbal agreement with Adam Knight May 2024. I sent him two CDs with 10 songs on each CD and sheet music, with the understanding I could get them back. I sent him $500,00, half of what it would take to record two songs in his AOK studios in Nashville. I live in New Mexico and due to health reasons, I was not able to go down there. So, I called Adam late May and told him that I would not be able to make it and to cancel my appointment which was 17th & 18th of July 2024. I asked him to return my $500.00 and my music. He told me the money was nonrefundable, it was to cover the cost of studio time, which was not for another two months. I was not made aware if that and I figured there was nothing I could do to recover my money, then I asked him to send me back my music, which he promised he would do. Up to now he has not returned my music after repeated efforts to get him to do so. It would be nice if I got my $500.00 back also since he did not tell me the money was nonrefundable. Deposits cover studio time. When I book musicians and studio time, I am liable to pay them even if the client is unable to make it. Therefore, deposits are nonrefundable. Mr. *******; like all my customers was made aware.
Further, I send his handwritten lyrics back to him months ago.

The funds were nonrefundable. That is made known at the time of payment. It is to ensure that when musicians are placed on hold, they must be paid. I am rejecting this response because: I was NOT informed of the non-refundable status. All that Adam told me was to send the $500.00 and the other $500.00 could be paid once I got there.500.00. Also, I have not received my music. If it was sent by USPS, then provide me the shipping information so I can investigate where my music went to, because it did not come to me.

I hired AOK Records from Adam Knight to release my song, The Assassin to 2100 radio stations in the United States and Canada and to promote it for 4 weeks. I was supposed to get reports at least once a week. Since this supposedly started January 23, 2024, I have received no reports and they no longer respond to my emails or phone calls. Adam Knight has stoped communicating with me. He has left unfinished business concerning promotional work he promised. My agreement with him was one of producing 3 songs of mine and also promoting the 3 songs. As for producing the song my one complaint is he did not finish background vocals on said song “****** ** ****” Promoting the songs is my main complaint! After producing songs they were to be pitched to 1200 radio stations over US & Canada. The songs were to be pitched 1 at a time. Each were to run for 3 months. Simultaneously with song pitched to radio they were to be pitched weekly to other established artists. My first song “****** **** **** ***** was digitally released on July 4th 2024. It was also to be pitched to the radio on same date. That’s when Mr Knight stoped corresponding by not returning texts, calls or email. After reading other complaints about him that seems to be his strategy. He then scams people in this way. I didn’t receive one report “as others complain” 3 months later after continuing trying to reach him he finely responds by text. He says he had to fire someone who was to be handling the reports and promised he would handle it himself. At that time the second song was to be released. He released it digitally but again stops corresponding and proceeds to ghost me. My 3rd song was to be promoted to 1200 radio station and weekly to established artist on Jan 3rd. I have been ignored by Mr Knight since Oct it’s now Jan 27th and no response from him. He will probably come out & say he owes me nothing. He will bloviate how well his work is & him generously giving discounts. What I want is; 1-Proof that he pitched the songs to 1200 radio stations I want the “REPORTS” 2-Punitive damages. No one ever heard my songs after I did a commercial saying the songs would be on the radio asking for listener support. It made me look foolish. My last effort to reach him was this week. Mr. ******* is a very nice man and quite talented. He explained to me early on that he could not afford our services with our typical pricing. Therefore, I produced three budget demos for $1000 and included background vocals which are typically $100 per song. Further, he asked me to service them to radio. Typically, we charge between $750 and $1250 per song for that service with tracking services for 4 months per song. We did not charge him anything for that service, but I did let him know that we’d simply be sending the songs not performing the monthly tracking and reporting service. All three songs are finished, and they’re excellent. There was one 3 note bgv he wanted added, but he wanted it added at no extra charge and I just can’t do that when it wasn’t mentioned previously.
So, Mr. ******* has received $3550 worth of services, as promised, for $1000.
I really don’t have a clue what he’s griping about.

Everything he's paid for has been done. Songs are STILL being pitched weekly. Unless an artist desires to record them they don't respond to song plugging. We have placed them in literally hundreds of artists hands. I can't offer to do more than we've been paid for and I can't refund what we've already done. Mr Knight has not promoted my 3rd song called “****** ** ****” as he says he did. In fact as far as promoting he has no proof that he has promoted my first 2 songs. In fact Mr Knight has “ghosted” me not been corespondent to me since Oct 5th 2023 and my last song was supposed to be pitched out Jan 4th 2024. Yet he persists to say and not until I have to come to Better Business Bureau that he did this work. He has lied to me. Mr Knight you show no proof whatsoever that you have pitched my work to 2100 radio station across North America and also pitched my songs to established artist! PROVE WHAT YOU SAY IS TRUE! I’ve seen most your lies! You have said I’m confused over what work you were to do. Yet your story changed once I posted the invoice. Then you changed your story and have said you did the work and that there’s nothing to report. So on one had you say I’m confused about what services I’m to receive and on the other hand once you were shown the invoice I’m no longer confused and you claim to have done the promotion.
Mr Knight can do a great job at producing your work but as for the promoting your work look out

Hello, back in 2021 I believe in May I was to go record my song I wrote with help from **** ****** at a ok records and productions in falls church, Tennessee. My son paid for recording time ahead of time. So before I made travel arrangements I called the studio where I was to record at and checked if we were on the books to record there. Lo and behold we were not on the books at all, then **** gave excuse I told you wrong studio. So I know nothing was done on his end. My son paid $570.00, and we both called, emailed, and messenger him but he wouldn't ever respond. Finally after weeks gone by he answered my son's messages and agreed to pay back $130.00 only. I myself am not satisfied at all, he still owes $440.00. *** ****** is a good man, who is greatly mistaken in the situation. His son paid for a recording in 2019. Within a week of receiving payment, we produced the track and had sent it to the client and we were prepared for *** ****** to come in and do vocals. He kept putting it off until I received a message that he needed to do the vocals on a particular day that i was not even in Nashville. When that did not work out he became belligerent and accused me of all sorts of crookery. His son reached out and I explained and showed him what money I had spend on the project paying musicians and studio time for production of the track which was done and done professionally. So the Son and I agreed on a refund of $130. The son texted me and thanked me for being a man of integrity in that partial refund. *** ******, who paid me no monies, has continued to make accusations and complaints.

The son who paid me was satisfied. $570 is a discount from my advertised price of $800, which is public. I was doing this pretty much at cost just as a favor, since it was a Christmas present.
Anyone who knows anything about our business knows that we track in several great Nashville studios. This track was recorded by ***** ********* ***** ****** ****** ******** ********* ******** *nd myself on guitar. We do not computer program anything at all.
Once again; I cannot refund monies that our company paid out to musicians and studios 3 1/2 years ago. Our payment processing company limits refund requests to 180 days, in the first place.

I paid owner Adam Knight of AOK Record and Productions to create music with a band and provide a vocalist for my song: The Letters USA in May 2022. I drove to TN from KS in May, and that very day I witnessed and was happy with the music that was created and still am. However it took several months to get the vocalist to work on song. When Adam sent me what the singer done it was mostly spoken and not sung. I communicated with Adam I was told he would have it re-recorded. I emailed him condensed version of song to see if that would help. Through the months on Facebook Adam would post periodically stating he has openings for people to come in studio. I responded every time requesting him to call or message me so I could reiterate that I emailed a shorter version of song and if the previous vocalist is not willing to record then I would like to schedule a date and time to come to one of the studios he utilizes and record and mix the song to include following through with the ad on internet that it will be played or presented on radio venues. As of today, 1/20/23 AOK has blocked me from being able to send any messages on their platform to include private message. I have continued to try and leave voice mails on phone number listed on site. I want resolution, for the project is only half complete.Business Response

Thanks for letting me know about this concern. isn’t blocked on any communication. In fact, this afternoon before receiving this complaint, I had spoken to her and worked out a plan to resolve the delay. Once the vocalist had recorded his part, *** ***** made some tweaks to the lyrics which would require re-recording. We now have a game plan to do just that. Typically, we would charge $200 for a re-record on vocals, but in good faith we are doing that at no extra charge.

I payed at AOk records and production 2,250 dollars for a 100 cd deal he advertised i sent him my music i rented a car drove to Nashville Tennessee put down my vocals went back home waiting for something but now he won't answer my calls or messages on face book that's how I communicated before it like he has blocked me on everything. He was a nice enough guy when i was in the studio but now he has for got me. On his voice mail when I leave him one which is about everyday he says God bless you which is another problem i have with him. All in all with the money i payed him the rental car the 3 days work i missed I've probably got 3,000 dollars in this venture with nothing to show. I am so disappointed its not just losing the money which is a big deal but if he can live with lying and stealing my money i guess i can live without it. And i know if he did this to me he is probably also doing it to others. This is a bad person to deal with.Business Response
