I bought a 2021 Nissan Rogue around Labor Day weekend. It has been in the shop twice for power steering issues. They kept it two days the first time and have had it a week this time. They say they can’t fix it without the Nissan website to show them how. They are supposed to be certified mechanic’s. I want my car repaired and returned.

      Business response

      10/13/2023

The vehicle came in with a power steering issue.  We provided a rental car for the customer while we started the repairs to the vehicle. During the diagnosis we contacted Nissan to assist in the repair as well. With the assistance of the Nissan engineer we were asked to replace the Electronic Control module.  It was replaced and required programming. When we tried connecting to Nissan to program the module, the servers at Nissan were not working. That is the website we needed to work. It has the security software in it to program all vehicles.  If that server is down, we cannot program any Nissan vehicle.  Nissan servers came back online, and we programmed the vehicle.  Unfortunately, there is more to the repair than just the ECM.  A connector in the harness wasn't making proper connection and caused the ECM to fail.  We are working with Nissan directly to get the connector to fix the vehicle.   Customer was updated on 10-13-23 to explain the repair needed and the timeline.  The customer is in a rental provided by Mountain View Nissan and Nissan Warranty at no charge to the customer.

      To whom it may concern,

We could not trade the Dodge Ram in on trade due to the miles and running condition of the vehicle.   The vehicle has drove 50,000 miles in two years and the motor is making a very loud ticking sound.  As said before what you did or do with the truck is your decision but again due to condition and payoff we cannot trade for it.  Thank you

After receiving text messages from the company, I went to Mountain View Nissan to look at a used car. A salesman greeted me, and I could not recall his name. He had a car brought around for me to look at. The vehicle was missing the heat shield from the engine and appeared to have been repainted. I was told that the price of the car was $18,000.00. I told the salesman the price, primarily based on the repaint and missing stuff, needed to be lowered. They seemed firm on the price, and I got up and left. I know that the salesman was pretty upset that I left. While I was at the dealership, I did not sign anything, either on paper or on a tablet. I began receiving letters from various financial institutions informing me that I was being denied financing for a car at Mountain View. I ended up receiving 12 letters from different banks. I never authorized Mountain View to run any financing credit checks or inquiries, and I am now concerned that they have done so and harmed my credit score. I have sent a complaint and copies of the letters to the TN Attorney General's office, but I wanted also to file a complaint with BBB. What they did was wrong as I got up and left before there was any agreement to purchase the car.

I wanted to clear up a misunderstanding regarding my complaint. I now realize that when I went to the dealership the salesman put an electronic tablet in front of me and asked me to use my finger and sign on a line. He did not tell me what I was signing. I did not know that it was an application. When I think of an application, I think it will be a paper form and have different areas that I have to complete, such as my address and so forth. This was just a place to sign my name with my finger.
Yesterday, a man called and said he was the general manager at Mountain View and he told me that I had signed an application. It was at this point I did realize that the electronic tablet device must have been an application. But, I certainly did not know it - but I want to be honest and state that I did put my signature on the device and I did give them my social security number.
All that being said, I did not agree to any deal and did not know that they were going to send anything to any banks.  When they told me the price of the vehicle I declined and walked out.  The general manager told me that they only sent my application to 4 banks.  I disagree, as I received 12 rejection letters from banks.  In any event, I did not know I was agreeing to let them run my credit when I signed the tablet and had I been told what I was signing, I would have told them not to do anything since we did not agree on a price. There was no reason to send any application to any banks because there was no agreement to purchase anything.

The GM also told me that he was not going to remove or retract the inquiries that they created when they ran my credit.

      06/23/2023

      Mr *****,

We got your personal information from you, and you signed a credit application.  Since we are not the banks, we have to send the application to them to decide what kind of loan they will give you.  This is normal day to day business we do and the salesperson you were dealing with has worked here for over 10 years and is very knowledgeable and a good communicator.  I apologize if you felt differently.  As discussed on the phone we cannot remove the inquire from the bank.

12/16/22 I was forced into paying $2500 down and trading my car for a truck that if I keep I’ll be paying over $88,000 for. I informed the sales agent and finance person multiple times I cannot afford this and have been trying to reach the sales manager to no avail. No one will return my calls. I want to return the truck and get my vehicle back and if not then just to return the truck because I cannot afford the payments and will end up homeless.

We have left multiple messages on ****** cell phone.   She has spoken to a sales manager.   No one forced her to do anything against her will.   She put the money down and signed a contract.  The bank has funded the deal and all the paperwork was finalized.  ****** even requested we tint the windows.   Everything was perfectly fine when deal was done.   We cannot take the truck back.  If she would like to try to trade it we can explore that.

Was charged $109.12 for a diagnostic on my truck. They did not check what i requested, I wanted my ECM to be looked at and verified as working. They wasted time (2 days) to do a "Multi point inspection" and sent me a bill for $9500 for oil changes, transmission flushes and other pointless things. Not what it was in there for

So in February there was an advertisement ran by Mountain View Nissan. In this advertisement sales manager Joe S**** says "February is everyone drives month, if you walk on this lot, you are leaving today with a vehicle, come on down and see us at Mountain View Nissan!" There were no mentions of credit dependence, or income dependence or any other type of condition. So I went down there, and they ran my credit, and I was then told that I would need a co-signer or a whole heap of money down, but if I'm not mistaking it's actually illegal to do this, as I was not given any warning in the advertisement that it was credit or income dependent. I would like these ads to be taken down if they are untrue, as well as a vehicle from the dealership for their failure to mention the conditions. I'm not asking for a free vehicle, but they advertised everyone drives, so I would like to drive.

Nissan is offering a lease offer for a 2022 Frontier. 1899 down 199 a month. I reached out to my local dealer Mountain view of dalton, Ga. They informed me they would honor the lease. Upon my arrival, I was informed by a sales rep that the sales manager hated doing leases and would decline my request. She offered me finance options and pulled my credit, which I did not request. They told me that their sister company,Mountain View Nissan of Chattanooga, tn would lease to me. I called and spoke with a sales manager named Joe S****. He said this was a great lease offer and they were still doing it. Upon my arrival, I worked with a new salesman and Joe, the sales manager. We discussed what I was trying to accomplish and they committed it would be no problem. After a few hours of discussion and test driving and all but confirmed my request, I was informed that the lease payment would be 600-700 a month. They then tried to talk me i to financing by telling me my vehicle would have no value in a few months. After multiple conversations with whoever is the main sales manager they adjusted the amount to 480. They refused to breakdown the cost detail and when I pushed back stating I want the offer advertised they said they would lose money on that deal because they knew they could sell it for a higher cost. I was mislead and placed into a high tactic sales environment. I was told they would honor the lease as a ploy to get me in front of them. I reached out to Nissan consumer affairs and was told every dealer had the right to honor or not honor the advertised offer. This makes 0 sense and this offer should be removed if their truly is no way they will honor this deal. I wasted my time and had my credit ran twice under false pretense.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/02/15) */ I am very sorry for what seems to be some miscommunication. We (mountain View Nissan) did not advertise that, and as you know with speaking to Nissan consumer affairs, every dealer has the right to honor or not honor their advertisements. Unfortunately with Nissan not being able to produce enough cars for dealers inventory we will elect to pass on their advertisements. We did offer to sell you the truck for MSRP but you declined Thank you

On February 27, 2021 I took my 2014 Nissan Versa to Mountain View Nissan at 2100 Market St, Chattanooga, TN 37408 for a regular service visit and a tune-up. I bought the car there and have always had my regular services done there. After the tune-up, I noticed that my car did not seem to be shifting the way it should. When going from a complete stop, the engine would continue to rev up would not go into the next gear until I took my foot off of the accelerator. On April 1, 2021 I took the car back to Mountain View Nissan for service and had the engine cover resealed. I mentioned the problem I was having regarding the way the car was shifting to their service department. They said they were unable to verify that there was a problem, and that the car was running great! On May 28, 2021 I took the car back to Mountain View Nissan because a "check engine" light had come on in the car and it was still not shifting properly. They cleared the codes and told me the problem was the tail lamp assemblies, which I had replaced. On December 29, 2022 I gave up and took my car to ********************************************************************. There I was told I needed a tune-up. I mentioned my shifting problem to them, and upon inspection it was discovered that I needed a new transmission. When I bought the care from Mountain View Nissan, I was told that it had a lifetime drive train warranty. Obviously this is handled by denying any problems with the drive train and charging for unnecessary repairs. See attachments

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/01/17) */ The last time the vehicle was in our Service department we could not duplicate the problem. If at any time the consumer can show us the problem we would be more than happy to warranty the vehicle. Please feel free to reach out to us and set up a time for me or our Service Manager to ride with you so we can see what the issue is. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/01/18) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I do not accept the response from this business. The 2nd time I took the vehicle to them due to a "service engine" light coming on and they cleared the code. Just because they failed to duplicate the problem and cleared all indications of it does not mean it did not exist. I had had the vehicle to them previously for the same problem as noted on my invoices. Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2022/01/18) */ ***Document Attached*** If you look at the attachments I sent earlier, you will see that the attached is the code that was cleared by Mtn View Nissan upon my 2nd visit for the same problem Code P0705 Consumer Response /* (3000, 13, 2022/01/18) */ Please note that in the response that was given by Mountain View Nissan regarding complaint #***** they stated that they would be happy to "ride along" with me to try to see what the problem was. That's nice considering there is no problem now that I had the transmission replaced at *********************. This offer was not made at any of the 2 - 3 times I took the vehicle to Mountain View Nissan to try to resolve the problem, starting in February of last year.
