Puckett EMS is attempting to charge me above and beyond what my insurance has allowed and additionally what I have paid them. My health insurance has paid Puckett EMS $666.40 and I have paid them $166.60. This total amount paid is $833.00 for a 16 mile one way ambulance ride with minimal disposable supplies used. They are charging me an additional $2,203.87. I believe this additional amount is egregious and above any fair market value for the services rendered. Additionally I was not informed of any amount that I could be charged or that Puckett EMS did not accept my insurance. I have attempted several negotiations with Puckett EMS with no resolution. I believe these charges to be egregious in nature because they are taking advantage of a medical patient during an emergent situation.

Puckett EMS accepted **** ***** **** ****** insurance, then ran it through our secondary insurance ******* collecting payments from both sources. They then tried to send us the remaining bill, which is called Balance billing and is in violation Of CFR 38 §17.1008. I advised them on the phone and sent an email to the owner who stated it would be taken care of. This was back around 4/2021 maybe 5/2021 or so. Now a collection agent just called trying to collect, which means puckett EMS sold the debt. According to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA); any company attempting to collect a debt is again under the same rules and regulations as Puckett EMS would be, a violation of CFR 38 §17.1008.
Selling the debt may have been a crime in and of itself.
Here is the wording of CFR 38 §17.1008 showing that after accepting payment from ******* they cannot balance bill.
      CFR 38 § 17.1008 Balance billing prohibited.
Payment by VA under 38 U.S.C. 1725 on behalf of a veteran to a provider of emergency treatment and any non-emergency treatment that is authorized under § 17.1005(c) of this part shall, unless rejected and refunded by the provider within 30 days of receipt, extinguish all liability on the part of the veteran for that emergency treatment and any non-emergency treatment that is authorized under § 17.1005(c) of this part. Neither the absence of a contract or agreement between VA and the provider nor any provision of a contract, agreement, or assignment to the contrary shall operate to modify, limit, or negate this requirement.

      (Authority: 38 U.S.C. 1725)

anyone attempting to collect this debt sold by puckett ems would also be in violation due to the FDCPA.

I am seeking Puckett EMS to reclaim the debt from the debt collection agencies, and prevent its continued violations.

I am seeking Puckett EMS to remove the negative credit interactions from all major credit rating groups.

I am seeking Puckett EMS to stop the practice of Balance billing VA claims.
