I am submitting this formal complaint regarding the account reported by CORTRUST BANK, referenced on my credit reports with the last four digits of the account number being 54366. This account is being reported to all three major credit bureaus with conflicting, inaccurate, and unverifiable information, in direct violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and potentially the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). These are inconsistent designations with different implications, yet refer to the same account. If the account was paid, transferred, or settled as the $0 balance implies, it should no longer be reported as charged off or derogatory. Furnishers and credit reporting agencies are required to report with maximum possible accuracy. The differences above demonstrate that this requirement is not being met. Since I have disputed this account and no accurate, consistent, or verifiable information has been provided, the account should be deleted. If CorTrust Bank or any associated collector continues to report inaccurate or unverifiable information, it may also constitute a violation of FDCPA § 807(8), which prohibits false or misleading representations. I respectfully request the following action from CorTrust Bank and the credit reporting agencies: Immediate deletion of the account from all credit bureaus due to: Conflicting account details, Unverifiable payment and status information and Violations of the FCRA and possibly the FDCPA.

      Dear ******* * *******,

This correspondence is in response to your recent complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau regarding the
      CorTrust Bank account referenced above.

A creditor, as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, is a company that furnishes information to consumer
reporting agencies. Under the FCRA, information furnishers may only report a consumer's credit report under
      the following guidelines:

      1. They must provide complete and accurate information to the credit reporting agencies.
      2. The duty to investigate disputed information from consumers falls on them, and they must correct an error,
or explain why the credit report is correct within 30 days of receipt of notice of a dispute.
      3. They must inform consumers about negative information which has been or is about to be placed on a
consumer's credit report within 30 days.

The FCRA states we must conduct a reasonable investigation of your dispute and report the results of our
investigation to the consumer; however, it does not require creditors to provide any additional documentation.
Our records indicate that we have received 7 credit bureau disputes via e-Oscar from you since 07/12/2025 for
the account reporting with Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. By responding to your dispute with the credit
reporting agencies, we have fulfilled the requirements of FCRA.

Our records indicate this account was opened 02/07/2019. The account was used; purchases and payments were
made on the account. The last payment of $85.00 was posted to the account on 06/18/2021. The account
subsequently charged off due to non-payment on 11/09/2021 with a balance of $964.98. That balance remains
today. We have verified all this information is reported accordingly on your credit bureau reports.

We hope this information will assist you in completely resolving this matter. Please contact us at **********
**** if you have any questions or concerns.

      Sincerely,

      CorTrust Bank

      Customer Answer

      Date: 11/06/2025

This is my response to CorTrust Bank’s statement regarding my complaint. In their reply, they claim that they have “fulfilled the requirements of the FCRA” and that they have verified my account information. However, my credit reports show several clear discrepancies and timeline inconsistencies that prove the information CorTrust is reporting is not accurate or properly verified. In their letter, CorTrust states that the account was opened on 02/07/2019. The last payment was made on 06/18/2021. The account was charged off for non-payment on 11/09/2021, with a balance of $964.98. However, my credit report data tells a very different story. Equifax lists the last payment date as 06/01/2021, not June 18, 2021. Experian shows a last activity date of 12/01/2021, and TransUnion reports 06/18/2021. The same account cannot have three different “last payment” and “last activity” dates. This inconsistency violates FCRA §607(b), which requires furnishers to maintain the maximum possible accuracy of the data they report. CorTrust claims the account was charged off in November 2021, but the credit bureaus show charge-off and reporting updates continuing through October 2025. Equifax shows a “Date Reported” of 10/01/2025. Experian shows the same account reported as of 11/05/2025. TransUnion reflects activity and updates through 11/06/2025. That means CorTrust (or its system) is still actively updating an account that was allegedly charged off four years earlier. This type of continued re-reporting falsely re-ages the account, making it appear newer and more negative than it really is a direct violation of FCRA §623(a)(2) and FDCPA §807(8). CorTrust stated that they’ve received “7 credit bureau disputes via e-Oscar” and that by responding, they’ve “fulfilled the requirements of the FCRA.” However, simply sending a standard e-Oscar response does not qualify as a reasonable investigation. The FCRA requires that creditors conduct a substantive review of the underlying records, not just confirm what’s already in their system. Given the ongoing inconsistencies and lack of true verification, I am requesting the BBB assist in ensuring that CorTrust Bank removes the account entirely from all credit bureaus due to unverifiable and conflicting data.

I made a payment for 79.00 to Cor Trust bank credit card on July 16, 2025 and I attempted to make another payment for 20.00 dollars on July 25, 2025 to bring my balance below 500 dollars. The system kept saying declined when I had verified money in my account. Spoke to customer service and they said it was a glitch but I feel like they are keeping me from paying my balance down. They said my next payment is due by 8/23/25. So they are basically letting me make one payment a month which means I can’t attempt to pay off my balance.

I had an agreement with a hardship program with this company that I have paid for my payments were made in the amount of $15 and they were made on time. The company broke the deal and have reported to the credit agencies that I am behind after I have spoke to them and they refused to help me. They did not follow through on their end of the deal I want my credit report fixed and I want the money back. The account was to be in good standing and they need to put it back as the agreement

I have been being charged every month for their corselect membership. I have contacted the corselect membership department multiple times to cancel the membership but have never received any response. This should have been cancelled beginning October 1 2023 but I’m still being charged. I called the cortrust bank card center about this issue only to be told they can’t do anything and that only the corselect membership department can help me. But I get no response from them.

Cortrust Bank credit card is reporting the incorrect information to the credit bureaus concerning my balance. My balance is zero and when I filed a dispute with Equifax, they (Cortrust) refused to correct the information.
