    I was displaced from my home due to the hurricane that hit Augusta, GA on 9/27/2024 and losing power and water (and internet/Wi-Fi). I went online to try to find a hotel and spoke with someone at the number listed on the receipt (1-800-497-2175). They told me that I had a confirmed reservation at the Executive Inn in Ridgeway, SC. I drove over an hour and a half to get to the hotel. I saw that the charge from the hotel was pending on my Visa. When I got there, I was very rudely dismissed and turned away. I was told that I did not have a reservation, and that they "had no idea" about the online booking. Even when I showed them the attached documentation, they still refused to acknowledge my reservation and told me they did not have a room for me. I then had to drive around until I could find a place to stay. Even after all of this, the next day I got the attached receipt - the hotel charged me for the room when I did not stay there. It is difficult to understand how a business could do this to a paying customer. I called the number on the receipt 3 times (1-800-497-2175 / ************@*****************.com) to report the incorrect charge, and was told that they would credit my Visa. They never did. So, eventually, I filed a dispute with my credit card company, and they placed a temporary refund on my account. To date, the hotel has STILL not corrected this error. I am filing this as I do not want something like this to happen to someone else, and I am still waiting for the hotel to process the refund as I never stayed at their hotel.
