I had reservation for North Beach Plantation Oct 26-30 2022. It was a two bedroom unit in the towers. My name was given to Charter Club who then called and invited us to a presentation. The only thing they said was that it was not a timeshare. We had several problems with the unit. I called the front desk, and they sent up housekeeping. The supervisor said she knew why we were calling before she even came up since there had been the same complaints before. The front desk did offer to move us, but we had the refrigerator full of food and clothes unpacked. So, they offered us one night off of our total cost. I was pleased with how they resolved the issue with the unit. The problem comes with the Charter Club. The presentation sounded great, and they really sell how much money you can save. We bought the package. One thing we specifically asked was would we be able to see the rooms at North Beach before we booked so as not to get a room in the same condition as what we were given at our current stay. The presenter assured us we would and that we would even be able to pick the floor and exact unit we wanted. This was a flat out lie and totally misrepresented. I have tried to call on several occasions and get no response. The presenter, Chris, did call me from an unknown number and left me a message that he had asked North Beach to put up the pictures for the units. That has not happened. He also said I could call him back and he would be able to take my call, which I did. Of course, he did not answer so I left him a message and he has yet to return my call. They present it that you can save so much money on so many locations but what they fail to tell you is that you have to go at a time of the year when nobody would want to go to get a deal. In trying to book a hotel room, you cannot even see the pictures of the room. It is certainly not even close to how it was sold. The biggest discounts are on hotels and condos that are far from desirable or have low rates.

    Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/12/02) */
The Charter Club reached out to **** ***** and the misunderstanding was rectified. **** ***** had no outstsanding issues with our resort.

    Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2022/12/10) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Nothing was rectified! I did receive a call from the presenter of the program. His response was that they had changed their policy and that you would no longer be able to see the two- and three-bedroom condo units in the Towers. We were told at the time of our purchase that we would be able to see and chose the unit that we wanted to rent "down to the floor we wanted to stay on". They changed this policy, and you can only see the four- and five-bedroom units. My complaint was that we were adamant about being able to see and chose our unit, we were staying in a two bedroom that had a lot of issues, and we were assured we would be able to choose. When I asked the presenter about this, and his response was that they had changed the policy and he was not aware of it. I feel like we were misled when we purchased into this program. Also, when I tried to book a car rental for a trip, the site said advertised that I would save $74 by booking through their website but when I went directly to the car rental site it was in realty $25. When I tried to book a hotel room at a specific hotel their website showed no pictures of the room and said that they had no data available. I feel like you are booking blindly. The program is not as it was presented. In talking with the presenter, the only solution he had was for me to call him directly when I wanted to book something in the future. I don't see that as rectified.
