      Let me start off by saying, University Medical Group is inexperienced in physician billing and heavily lack in professional customer service. I have spent roughly five hours on the phone with **** ** and ****** physician billing ************ to resolve two claims (one in January and another in February) where the billers submitted claims to bcbs in my HUSBANDS name for MY doctors visit (with my date of birth) . UMG would tell me bcbs stated the service wasn’t covered (melanoma, really? Even tho I explained to them the pathology claim was submitted and paid for the same date of service!) I’m so thankful bcbs called with me on the phone to explain UMGs incompetence. Sadly, I overlooked the error and paid over $200 to ******. It’s been a nightmare trying to get them to file the claim correctly. Four months have passed and they’re still filing it in my husbands name and I can not get a supervisor to contact me to discuss this repeated problem. I’m nervous to continue going to any of their physicians because this will most likely happen again. Also to note, the majority of UMGs billers who answer the phone to discuss this problem are rude and condescending. One of the reps even referred Me to contact my doctors office to resolve the problem. The doctors office said they don’t deal with billing, hence why ****** has a centralized physician billing department. Please get your act together ****** physician billing! Stop making your patients pay for the full bill due to your lack of understanding how to correctly file a claim!!

      This morning at 10:00am I called my husband's doctor at ********** Family Medicine because he was having an allergic reaction to a bee sting. I asked to speak with a doctor or nurse. The lady answering the phone was very helpful, but told me that she would have someone call me asap. She said she was marking the phone call as urgent. I called back at 10:31am to see why no one had called us. She said that there were no doctors or nurses working today (a Friday) and that she had sent the message to the on-call doctor and would reach out to her again to return our call. We eventually gave up, and found another doctor to look at my husband and prescribe him some medicine to stop the FULL BLOWN allergic reaction. Just now at 1:46pm (3 hours and 46 minutes later) I received a phone call back from the person that I spoke with on the second call. She informed me that my husband's doctor is no longer with the practice and that he would need to re-establish his "patient status" with a new doctor in the practice in order to receive any help from them. First of all, she should have been able to tell me this when I first called. Secondly, it should not have take almost 4 hours to get a phone call back on an urgent need. Thirdly, this is the second time we have had our family doctor leave this practice. It is NOT OUR FAULT that you cannot keep your doctors staffed. Why can we not speak to who ever the doctor on call was? And Lastly, it is FRIDAY. Why are there NO DOCTORS OR NURSES working? Your hours say you are open from 8:00-5:00 on Fridays.
