Dec 11 I called because I could smell a gas leak. It was in the evening. Tech called me and said I could shut off valve but he would recommend him coming out to check. He said it would be over an hour, but did not share how to cut off valve on tank. He came out, talked about his experience and expertise. He found leak and said he can fix it easily and will tell palmetto that this was dangerous and it could have imploded, so he will put in his notes not to charge me for coming out after hours. He said the cost would normally be close to $300, bur he's gonna help me out with the charge. This was the first that I even heard about the charge. I was upset because he kept saying how dangerous it was not to get it fixed now, and he will let them know, for me not to worry. They listen to him. I was reassured by him so I went ahead and let him fix it, which took 5 min because he said he didn't want to keep valve shut off. Gas was out and he said he will also have them come out the next morning to fill tank especially since there was a leak, even though leak wasn't with the regulator. He didn't tell me there would be a $125 charge. He just kept saying I will take care of you. I will help you out I was so thankful he was going to help me out like that I went in house and managed to rummage up $25 cash to give him. He took it without hesitation and ended with once more saying, don't worry, my recommendation will be in my notes and like I said, they listen to me. I will call them too about getting gas out there in the morning also. This tech was totally deceptive and co tinued to be deceptive after I gave him a tip. I jave text messages to support my concern because I contacted him regarding the deception. I was charged $125 for delivery and $250 for after hours call. I should not have been charged either due to the tech telling me I wouldn't be. I would not have had him come out that evening and would have just shut valve off if he had told me of charges.
