I have a service contract with McGee to come out two times a year. McGee scheduled my winter service on Jan.14,2025 and did the service, I told the tech that the heat pump has been running 20 to 24 hours a day, and the air coming out the registers was cold. the tech found a Outdoor coil sensor defective and had to order the part. I asked if he would check the temp at the register and the return. He found a 11 degree difference. said he would be back on the 20th to install the part, and left. Got a call on 1-20-25 telling me they ordered the wrong part and because it was a holiday, they would pick up the part on the 21st, never showed up, he did come on the 22nd and replaced the part, he checked the ductwork to see if any of it might have come loose from the unit. I called on the 24th and told the lady the heat pump was still running a lot and told me I would get a call from a service manager. That didn't happen, I called again on the 27th and she said both service managers were out in the field helping with the workload, because of the extremely cold weather, a lot of people were having trouble too. that someone would call me when they came back in. well NO PHONE CALL. I would like for someone to have time to troubleshoot my system correctly and repair it so I can stay warm. during the daytime I'm using a kerosene heater to keep the unit from running so much, My power bill is out of sight because of the unit running 20-24 hours a day. I've been a customer since 2017 and think they don't care about long time customers, just like other companies, they will go out of their way to get new customers then treat older customers like trash .They are in the business of selling new units not repairing the units they have installed. The unit I have is still under warranty and the part I thought was covered, but was told there was a warranty claim filing fee they had to charge me, which didn't sound right to me.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I have reviewed the events surrounding this situation.

*** ***** ***** is one of our Preferred Maintenance Customers.

We performed his heating maintenance on January 14, 2025.  McGee installed his equipment on June 19, 2017.  His labor warranty expired June 19, 2018.
The equipment has a limited parts warranty which expires June 19, 2027.

Upon diagnosing the bad coil temperature sensor, we immediately ordered a replacement part.
Our vendor shipped us the wrong part.
Our vendor was closed on January 20 for the holiday, which delayed receiving the correct part.

Upon receiving the correct part on January 22, Mcgee returned and installed the new part.
Because of the extreme cold temperatures, we were unable to measure proper refrigerant levels on the same day; therefore, we returned on January 29th and added two lbs of freon.  The refrigerant levels and the extreme cold temperature could contribute to the equipment engaging more frequently than usual.

*** ***** was charged our one-hour labor rate for a repair of $280.00; because his labor warranty expired in 2018.

Due to the delay in obtaining the replacement part and because *** ***** is a loyal maintenance customer, we will reach out to him and offer a refund for the replacement of the sensor, in the amount of $280.00.

We hope this explanation and our sincerity in this matter can resolve this dispute.

      Thank you for your business

IT SAID THE COMPLAINT HAD BEEN CLOSED, But McGee did come out again to trouble shoot my heat pump, on March 13th. Had 2 people out here for a couple of hours, and added more Freon, checked for leaks, wiring and sealed some places on my duct work, on that day it was in the 70's outside and not to easy to check the heat at that temp. The air seems to be operating correctly, but we'll have to wait for winter to see if the heat is repaired, Hopefully it is. Thank You and McGee for addressing my problems. I'm Happy for now.......
