On March 7, 2024, Green Lawn Fertilizing sent me an email which included a Pre-Pay letter advising of their services for 2024 and on March 11, 2024, they sent me an email advising of their upcoming visit. On March 11, 2024, I replied back to the email advising that I did not sign up for their service. On March 13, 2024, they sent me an email advising they serviced my property on March 12, 2024. I have called them several times to advise them that I did not renew my service with them and they should not have serviced my property without my authorization. Instead, my phone call is transferred to the **************** in which I left a message advising that I did not sign up for their service. On March 27, 2024, they sent me an email in which they state, "Thank you for reaching out. Your program is active for 2024. We look at the notes and messages there was no cancellation for our lawn program. We value you as a customer! Enclosed is a prepay letter for a 10% discount." I have sent several emails and made several phone calls to resolve the matter and all they want to do is sell their product and continue to send me an invoice advising that I own them monies for the service I did not approve. On April 20, 2024, I received another email about an invoice and I called again and spoke with ******. She is advising that my service is an automatic renewal and I did not call prior to cancel. They have me canceling my service on March 27, 2024, but they had already service my property on March 12, 2024, so I owe for the service. I advised her that when I prepaid for service the year prior, I was clear that I did not want any automatic renewal and that is why they did not have my credit card information on file. I want the harassing emails to stop about the invoice and I want my account to reflect $0.00 is due.

After receiving advertising mail from Green Lawn Fertilizing on 2/24/2024, 3/20/2024, and 3/28/2024, I emailed them on each of those days, requesting that they tell their marketing company to remove my name and address from their mailing list. I never received the courtesy of a response from them. Today, 4/3/2024, I received more advertising mail from them.

I apologize that you received this unwanted mail from us. You were added to our Do not mail list, at least for the last April mailing, which was submitted to our mail house as part of our suppression list. I apologize they did not suppress your address as they should have. We are done mailing for the year and you are on the do not mail list that I will use for all future mailings. I will likely be switching mail vendors for next year.

Last season 2023 inadequate grub control by green lawn fertilizing company Led to significant destruction of my lawn. I had to speak to a supervisor who ultimately had the company, overseed my lawn to make things right . After the over seating I had canceled service with Greenlawn fertilizing company however they had come back the first week of March in 2024 to apply lawn chemicals which I did not ask for-as I canceled service in late fall of 2023 they are now continually trying to bill me and have been harassing me by way of Repeated email and phone calls. I have called four times with no resolution to this matter. I would like them to leave me alone and stop attempting to try to collect money for services that I did not request, especially after canceling. please help me as I do not wish to be continually harassed by this company any further. I have made it ******* clear that I do not wish to utilize their services in anyway.

Prepaid for fertilization and asked for an ESTIMATE. However, salesperson placed estimate on same paper. Agreed to prepay fertilization. Gave credit card. Now they have my billing information. Asked sales person **** ****** for estimate only on reseeding. he put it on same paper. Told him not committing due to wife's medical treatments will let them know of I decide but can not forecast medical bills. Therefore no authorization. In the fall I receive a bill for $825 for reseeding. Called company, sent emails that I did not authorize payments. Called bank stopped payment. Either overzealous scales b person or poor communication to data input with knowingly or sloppy . called company back and cancelled last destination and requested a check refund since I had to receive a new card. Now they sent to collection agency. I have sent two soon to be three registered to agency. Very aggregating.their problem. They owe me a payment of $94.00. I am a disabled senior veteran. I have steadfast principles and great character. Their attempt to extort $825 I will not stand for.

I have made several attempts to cancel my service after the season has been finished. This is because they will "renew" the services automatically for the next season if it is not cancelled. The problem seems to be on cancelling the service if there is no response from the company to confirm the cancellation. I sent written notifications for the intent to cancel via an email on 11/27/23, a message was sent via their online form on 11/27/23 and another email sent on 12/8/23. A hard copy of this notice was sent via ***** and received by their office on 12/11/23, as well as another follow-up email that I sent on 12/11/23. I am requesting an email and/or letter from Green Lawn Fertilizing stating that my service has been stopped as of this month and that it will not renew for next year, and for it to also reflect in my account online. I do not have a balance due and want this to be completed before the end of this month/year. Thank you.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 12/30/2023

I would like a statement reflecting a $0 balance since I cancelled services after this season, and before the 2024 season. My online account was indicating there was a pre-season amount of $1316.80 for the upcoming 2024 season even though I had given plenty of advance written notice of cancellation of services. It now appears I no longer have access to my online account as it has been abruptly deactivated before being able to see there was a $0 balance. Therefore, I will need an actual copy of a statement reflecting a $0 balance as soon as possible, please. Thank you

I received a phone call from this business stating they would seed and aerate my entire lawn for $85. They only did half the job and missed a large section of my property, they then sent me a message saying I owed them over $300. I agreed to $85 to do all of my property. I called and spoke to their service manager who stated they could not finish the job until next year April because the season was over. He stated he didnt know anything about the pricing and would have the sales manager call me to discuss the discrepancy in price. Its been 2 weeks and I havent received any calls. They are attempting to cheat me 1) by not doing the complete job and 2) by attempting to charge me more than 3 times the agreed upon price over the phone. They are a shady business with shady business practices.

      Business Response

      Date: 12/20/2023

We went back to original call between the customer and our sales rep and confirmed that $285 was the price that was agreed to for the aeration and seeding service. It is too late in the season for an A&S retreatment so we agreed to come back in the Spring to do that back part of the lawn then. The customer said he was good with that plan when speaking to our service manager.

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
They stated they would be back to finish the job in the spring but the company also stated that they would have their manager call to discuss the price for service.  I was told $85 and they are attempting to charge over $300.  I waited and received no call from the manager.  I have only received pre-recorded messages for payment from the company.

This company continues to call me with automated messages daily.  I just called and spoke to someone there for them to stop calling me.  They said that the manager ******* was not available and that ******* previously reached out to me.  That was a lie, I never spoke to any *******.  How can they persist in calling when they are trying to over charge me for a job they never completed and they are saying they cant finish until April ?  I no longer want them coming to my house to complete this job.  This is a shady company.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 01/25/2024

Is there any update on this complaint ?  I do not want this company coming back in the spring to finish the job they never completed.  They never completed the job and they are trying to overcharge me for services

      Business Response

      Date: 02/05/2024

We pulled the original call from the customer with the member of our sales staff and confirmed that they agreed to the $285 price for aeration and seeding. The calls and texts have been for that outstanding balance. Missing part of their lawn isn't something we can confirm or deny, so we agreed to come out this Spring for free and reseed. That is still on our schedule to do when we start treating again in March.

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: I do not want them to come back to my home to “finish the job” when they failed to do it properly when they were here.  Also I never agreed to such a price.  They didn’t finish the job and left a large portion of my property without the aeration.  I do not want them coming back EVER to my property.  I am willing to give them $100 for the work that they did and never have them come back or call me again if they want to settle this matter.  I’m not here saying they didn’t do any work, they did, but the price is insane that they are attempting to get.  I never agreed to such a price.

      - I have been a customer since 2018.- Early September 2023 I received a phone call offering a service "Aeration and Seeding." I usually refused, bit this time I told the salesman that if he can charge me $250, I'll do it. He agreed.- Sep 7, 2023: two amounts of $266.78 were charged to my credit card.- I filled out an online contact form asking to refund one charge.- Sep 11, 2023: I received an email from ************************* asking for a proof that I was charged twice.- I sent a credit card screen shot the same day.- Sep 14, 2023: I didn't hear back from *****, so I called the office. The lady asked me for another proof. At that point I was already upset, so I told her to cancel my aeration and seeding (service has not been performed by then. I also told her that I would dispute the charges with my credit card company. - Sep 14, 2023: I emailed ***** again telling her that I just spoke to her colleague to cancel the service.- Oct 5, 2023: *********** performed aeration and seeding and charged my credit card $296.42 without my authorization.- I promptly disputed the charge with my credit card company.- Nov 30, 2023: *************************** from Green Lawn called threatening to send me to collection agency. She told me I had $266.78 open balance. At that point, I was feeling generous. They did perform the aeration, I said I would pay.- After I mailed a check, ******* emailed me again that she was mistaken: my balance is $492.34. I asked ******* for a statement, but she sent me an incomplete statement from Sep 28 (nothing showing activities from Sep 1, 2023).- I kept asking ******* to send me a statement, but she never did.- Finally I forwarded ******* my email to ***** where I wrote that I just spoke to her colleague to cancel the aeration.- ******* responded that I never cancelled on Sep 14; I was only telling the that I would dispute the charges. She wants $225.56 or she will send me to collection.

I apologize for just responding to this case now. I must have missed the initial notification. Please let me know if anything further is needed on our end.

My whole complaint was not addressed, so there is no solution at all. My point is missed completely. I said they preformed a serviced after I canceled. They said they paid, so its fine for them. I dont see how BBB helped at all with this problem. Please do NOT post this complaint, because it will looked like the business solved the problem when they did not.

In late August I woke up to a person on my front lawn running an aeration machine. He left quickly - by the time i went downstairs and outside he was gone. He left a slip in my mailbox and I called the company, Green Lawn Fertilizer to find out what was going on. They told me I had authorized the service and I explained I did not. They have since billed me for $124.55 to which I explained I was not paying, I use a different service, but they continue to call and harass me and send monthly bills. I have explained over and over I did not authorize this and will not pay it. They state I authorized this in 2022 and they billed me credit card at that time but it since expired and they have no credit card on file to bill. I've checked my card back to full year 2022 just in case something was authorized and there is no payment whatsoever to Green Lawn. I've explained this in numerous phone calls and am now writing a letter to them along with filing this complaint. Their ****** reviews reflect others have this same situation of unauthorized services so it seems to be a regular business practice. At this point I need help resolving this as the phone calls will not stop and are bordering on harassment. Thank you for your help.

We had called several companies to get price quotes for lawn aeration and seeding. I told each company the same thing. I would go home and discuss this with my wife and get back to then if I wanted to schedule with them .this company said we needed to call back with a credit card to proceed.we did not call back we gave no credit card we scheduled no date for service.a week or so we came home to a sign on the lawn and the job done. We had selected another company Nd had scheduled the service with them . I called and told them I did not call back did not give a credit card and did not schedule a date for service and was not paying them. Every week or so they call about an open invoice I tell them the whole story again. Today nov.14 I received a bill in the mail.this is a way of grabbing jobs and making people pay. It's a shady way to do busy. They don't deserve to get paid. They have several bad reviews and that with requiring a credit card were red flags for us and we selected another company.

I received a phone call from Green Lawn Fertilizing in July 2023, asking me if I would like to try out their mosquito treatment for $41. The guy on the phone claimed it was 1 treatment for half off the original price. I agreed to the $41 treatment. This company has serviced my property 2 more times. Once in August 2023 and once in September 2023, without my authorization. I was not home to be able to refuse treatment, I did not receive a scheduled appointment time, and I did not give them permission to enter my private property without my consent. They just showed up and did the work and sent me an invoice after the fact. I am using them for my lawn service already, which was prepaid. That was the only service I authorized for this company to complete on my property. Now I have an outstanding bill for $167.34. I have been calling and reaching out to this company since 9/22/23 to have them take the charge off of my account. The company has refused to do so. Even with me stating all of the above.

Sorry I'm just responding back to this complaint. We were trying to get a hold of the customer and have not been able to. The entire balance owed has been credit back to the customer.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Although, the company said they have been trying to contact me, that is not a true statement. I reached out to the company several times in which I was left on hold for over 30 minutes when I requested to speak with a manager. They have never left a message on my voicemail and they have not complied with any time frame they said they would when returning my phone calls.

      Regards,
